Okay, I was following this tutorial ( How to customize the Start list in Windows 10 ) and noticed that I don't even have the, "Start Menu" tab. Is it supposed to be gone? If so. How am I supposed to customize the start list?

As you can see, despite its name, it does not have a tab for "Start Menu". I remember that Preview versions of Windows 10 had a "Start Menu" tab. Did they just remove at the last moment? And how I change Start Menu options without that tab?
Right click empty part of taskbar, go to "properties". I have 3 tabs. Taskbar, navigation, and toolbars. According to several sites I have read, I should also have a "start menu" tab with a "customization" button to change some things on the left side of the start menu, and also enable pinning things to the left side. This option is missing for me. Is this something that has to be enabled with a registry tweak?

View 8 RepliesI just got my hands on a new UX305 from ASUS and it's working wonderfully. However, I wanted to change the icons for the Desktop, Downloads, Music, etc. folders in Quick access in File Explorer. I was able to do it on my main rig, but there is no customize tab for most of the folders in quick access, and those that do still don't allow me to change the icon.

View 7 RepliesAccording to all I have read there should be a Properties Icon shown when you right click a blank area of the Taskbar in W10. There should also be a Task View icon to the right of the Start icon. I have neither of these. If I right click the Taskbar (blank area) I get 4 options: 1. Show app icons. 2. Show all notification icons. 3. Show touch keyboard button. 4. Show language switcher. That's it but no Properties.
View 6 RepliesIt was there yesterday and now it is missing, along with the battery icon. When I go to the properties panel those options are grayed out. Did i accidentally change a setting or something? Never had these problems with win 7 pro.
View 3 RepliesNo app icons will appear on the taskbar. They show fine in the Start menu, but are missing on the taskbar. It only includes apps, no installed programs are having this issue. This includes calculator, Edge, Xbox, etc. I tried rebuilding the icon cache from this tutorial, but it still didn't work. I've included a screenshot for reference.

View 2 RepliesIt's been a few days now since icons aren't showing everywhere including Desktop (really bugs me, this one), Taskbar (Not actually disappeared, but deformed), and File Explorer. I did things like calling Task Manager up and end the process of explorer.exe and run it again, no luck. I restarted Windows, yielded no results. I also tried turning the machine off and on again, to no avail.
Here are some screenshots regarding the problem I am facing.
While Desktop and Explorer are not working as well as they should, Start Menu and Tablet Mode appear to be quite fine by themselves.
My machine is running Windows 10 Home Edition, not Insider Preview. I don't know how to find the version/build numbers, but I'm positive it's the latest build available since I just checked Windows Update.

View 1 RepliesToday I got an update, and I noticed afterwards that the Windows 10 context menu when you right click the desktop went back to the old version and not the Windows 10 version. Also, the context menu for right clicking in the taskbar turned black in the background. Not sure what changed and how to make things the way I remember.

View 9 RepliesI updated to Windows 10 a week or so ago, and since then I've noticed that I no longer seem to have a right-hand click menu function: on Chrome/Explorer, it opens the link I'm clicking on in another tab or window, but on everything else either nothing at all happens or the scrolling arrows appear. Why this is, and how to get it back?
(to be clear: I'm talking about the menu that has copy/paste/select all etc on standard programs, or thesaurus/font etc on Microsoft Word.)
my start menu. Originally, at the bottom there was a search bar. Then I installed Start10, made some changes, and then decided to uninstall the program and go back to the default start menu. The uninstallation required a restart, which I did, however now the start menu bottom search bar is gone. I tried going through the start menu settings but no luck. So I tried reinstalling Start 10, but it says that the computer must restart to finish the earlier uninstallation before a new install can begin. I have tried turning the laptop completely off multiple times but get the same result.
