I've clean installed Windows 10 after upgrading.
Tom's clean graphic driver install guide says; "It's also a good idea on AMD systems to make sure the chipset drivers are up to date which can be found here: AMD Chipset Drivers
How can I verify my clean install is using the latest chipset drivers?.
Since some weeks my usbs stopped working, including the mouse and keyboard. Fortunately I have remote desktop enabled and I could access to the computer. What I saw is that in every boot the usb chipset go to error state with code 10 (The message is: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API).
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, updating it , disabling and enabling, using troubleshooter and reinstalling the usb.inf. The only that enables ok the usbs is disabling and enabling it, but when I reboot, error 10 again.
I don't know what to do. I found in other sites that the solution is only perform a repair install or format the computer and because I don't want formatting the computer I want to know if there are other options that would repair my usbs.
I installed the new chipset for windows 10 through the msi website but now two of my usb hubs are reporting as unknown devices and when i try to reintstall/update them an error comes up saying "encountered an error trying to install" ( intel(R) c610 series x99 chipset usb enhanced host controller 8D2D), I am using the msi x99a gaming 7 motherboard.

View 5 RepliesI have a notebook with nVidia 860m video card. There is GeForce Experience preinstalled and it recommends to update driver. Problem is: Win 10 does not recognize 860m after rebooting my system when I install nVidia's fresh drivers. I don't understand that sort of problem because I always updated drivers on win 8.1 without any problem, win 10 is updated regularly. So if I am interested to install recommended updates, is there a way to understand will it work or not after reboot without actual install? I tried to installed drives via devices manager, it is installed without any problems but does not work after reboot.

View 4 RepliesSo basically after a certain amount of time, when I reboot my Surface Pro 3 or sometimes even leave it running for that long, I wind up getting hit by an error that says that I need to verify my identity. I then have to go over to the Accounts option in Settings and then click the word "Verify" to type my PIN in, otherwise all installed Windows Store apps crash, Cortana becomes disabled and reverts back to the standard search function. I've already tried making a new User Account, reinstalling Windows 10, using an account troubleshooter, restarting and signing in with my original password (not the PIN), clearing the extra devices that are called "PC" under my account that my Surface Pro 3 seems to create every time this issue appears at URL... and Sign in to your Microsoft account, changing my Microsoft account password, and of course, verifying my identity by typing in my PIN. Nothing works. Aside from taking a hammer to the device?

So, my Windows 10 tech preview, starting with build something, says 'You need to verify your identity' under "Accounts". When I try to do that, it pops up with a window saying "the parameter is incorrect". This makes services like mail, onedrive, albums and so on unusable since I am not authenticated
View 3 RepliesMy kids Windows 7 machine had major issues, so decided to do a fresh Windows7 install. Format disk etc. install worked, windows update did not. Would do nothing but say "checking for updates", for hours, and hours. Spent 6 hours trying to fix that when i said what the heck, lets go to Windows 10. I have a windows 7 OEM key.
I used the tool to download and create a USB install and went from there.
Windows 10 goes through the install phase without issue, asks for the key, i provide the Windows 7 OEM key. Hangs for like 10 seconds then says the key is not usable. I sit there scratching my head. I can do a Windows 7 reinstall on this machine with the key, but not a Windows 10 ? Windows 10 upgrade website says you can do a fresh install in this way, using the Windows 7 key.
I talked to a MS guy, pretty useless. Kept wanting to connect to my computer to take a look, despite me not having completed the install because the key would not work.
BUT, here is the root of the problem i believe, i have no network connection, because Windows10 seemed to not install a driver for it. No green light on back of machine(when i do a fresh windows7 install, it does install a driver, and all is good).
I download the necessary driver from the MSI website, use the "install driver option" from the Win10 screen asking me for a windows key, yet the driver install files wont even show up when i click browse.
Then i click the "skip" option, thinking i can go into Windows, install the drivers that way and then put my key in later. Heh, stupid me, no, clicking skip just takes you back where it will reinstall everything and then ask you for the key again. So, install, skip, install, skip, install, skip.....
Pretty disgusted with MS right about now.
Just wondering if this is normal behaviour for windows 10 does not happen all the time just once in a while. I get a little popup like the one when you have a display driver crash. asking to verify user and brings up box to put pin or password in. is this normal

View 1 RepliesSince downloading W10 onto my SP3 every time I start the machine up a notification pops up telling me that I need to verify my Microsoft account.
Clicking on the notification takes me to the accounts page of the settings menu.
Sometimes when I reach the page the account settings will update itself within a few seconds and I won't have to do anything, but on other occasions I need to go through the annoying process of sending my email address to MS and waiting for a returning verification code.
I'm the only user of the machine, so it's not like it's mixing me up with another account holder who uses the device.
My motherboard manufacturer only has a file for the Windows 10 chipset driver but I remember in the past I was supposed to download the chipset software installation utility first if it was the first time doing a chipset driver on a new comp.
View 1 RepliesSince I upgraded to Windows 10, many things have been problematic. However, my issue currently is that the Date and Time keep popping up and remain popped up. I am referring to the one which shows and entire month calendar, along with the time, day, etc. It would usually occur upon clicking on the time and date in the lower left hand corner. Whenever I click that to get rid of the expanded version, it shows up again a few seconds later as if I clicked on it.

I have additional time zones setup on my date and time. When i was running win 8.1 and i clicked on the time it popped up with 3 clocks - all nice and pretty easy on the eye and all that.
Now it pops up with the calendar uk time in large text and at the top in small text the time on my other 2 time zones.
I have 3 recovery partitions.Recently, I created a recovery drive, installation media and Image Backup + rescue media using Macrium Reflect onto a external hard drive and FD's.
I cannot identify the creation date of these partitions.I would like to delete unnecessary recovery partitions on my C: drive.I can safely delete the partition having 7.20GB?Or is this MS factory backup Partition?
My laptop is working perfectly however my desktop is having the problems. When I go to where the date and time is and left-click on it nothing happens. If I right click it will give me the options to adjust date/time etc.. But what I want to fix is when I left-click there the time/calendar to open.
View 2 RepliesI am having trouble with the date format for Australia (dd/mm/yy). It seems to coincide with the Windows 10 download. While my system clock shows the date correctly and the Date and Time setting are correct both in Region and Format, third party programs do not recognise the dd/mm/yy format. For example, the Photos app show the date in mm/dd/yy format and my spreadsheet, WPS Office will not recognise 13/8 mas 13/08/2015.
View 2 RepliesFor some time now I have been unable to use one of my email accounts in Windows Mail because it keeps saying the account settings are out of date and when I try to fix it I am unable to as the password field in the box that comes up for verifying my identity doesn't work and I am unable to enter the password, thus cannot fix the account.
Another account in Mail recently also said it was out of date, but it was no problem to fix it. The box for verifying my identity looked different than the above box and I could enter my password. Why is it different with this other account and how can I fix it?

The web sites that say to remove a Registry Key results in the Key NOT found and then trying to run its' companion command line utility results in not found.
Before updating to Windows 10, the Wi-Fi worked properly.
Latest Windows Driver IS installed. How to get my Laptop Running so that I can use it Wirelessly instead of having to connect via Category 5 land line cable to the router.
I get that message on my Surface Pro 3 almost every time I sign on. When I click the "Fix" button what looks like a sign-on window briefly pops up and then disappears, then nothing else happens. Usually if I do that a few times the error will eventually go away.
