Aug 19, 2015I will be in Gmail and it just shuts down. reopens and works fine for a while then shuts down after installing W 10?.

Aug 1, 2015Laptop, Dell Studio 1555, Previously running Win7 Ultimate and had no issues regarding random shutdowns.
Upgraded to Win10 Pro, then wiped drive and clean installed Win10 Pro. No issues during installation. No issues with device drivers. No other software installed.
Windows 10 randomly shuts down completely. no BSOD. turned off automatic restart, still no BSOD. Random shutdowns always occurs whenever i click on something (does not matter what). Random shutdown does not occur when system is idle.
Event viewer shows only Unexpected Shutdown.
Also have 4 consistent errors Event Error 7031 Service Control manager
User data Access_Session1 service terminated unexpectedly
User Data Storage_Session1 service terminated unexpectedly

Dell XPS 8300 / PC Randomly Shuts Down?
Dec 7, 2015I have a dell xps 8300 running windows 10 pro v1511 which was clean installed a few weeks ago.
Sometimes when I cold boot my computer the computer shuts down unexpectedly on the windows 10 splash screen. I have unplugged everything from my PSU apart from my windows hard drive and graphics card and still get the random shutdowns. I've also removed and cleaned the heatsink/fan and CPU and applied new thermal paste but problem is still there.
I'm not getting any BSOD's or memory dumps.
Computer (Overclocked) Randomly Shuts Down Out Of Nowhere
Nov 14, 2015A few days ago, I decided to overclock my PC. It froze a bunch, then gave a ton of random shut downs. I tried replacing the power supply, and the video card. it was good for a day, then fried the motherboard.
So I went out, bought a new case. New motherboard, new processor, new video card, new power supply, new liquid cooling, new monitor and keyboard and mouse. I ran all the cables neatly.
The only thing I reused is the memory, SSD HD, backup 1tb hard drive, and cd rom drive. Installed everything, and have been playing fallout 4 all day.
10 minutes ago, same exact thing. PC shuts down out of nowhere. I check the event log, not a single notice. I am at a COMPLETE loss for words now. I have a moster power surge protector, but I dont know that it has anything to do with it. I did plug the PC right into the wall.
I am a loss for words. Im now down $1500, an I d i feel like it was for nothing now.
Google Chrome Usually Makes Cursor Display Busy Animation Randomly

I tried using Edge for a while and it didn't happen. I have the same configuration I had on Windows 7 which worked totally fine back then.

Jan 12, 2016Lately my PC has been shutting down out of the blue, in about 5 seconds at that. Also, upon turning it back on it starts up real slowly. This generally happens when playing games, however if I'm on the computer that's what I'm doing so not sure if that's a good assumption. No viruses, according to AVG at least. When I look at shutdowns in event viewer it doesn't say much more than it shut down due to error.
/e I'm running windows 10 on an HP Envy with i7 Processor and 12 gb ram. Also, of 5 Hardware monitoring programs, not a single one will report any 5v or 12v readings for my motherboard. Is my power supply bad, or are none of these compatible enough to test it?
Sleep Just Shuts Down Computer?
Jan 19, 2016After I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, my sleep feature quit working properly. There was a point in time a couple months back it did work, but since I hardly use it I didn't notice a problem. Recently I decided I'd start using it, and that's when I noticed the problem. When I go to sleep mode, it goes to sleep, but than when I bring it out of sleep mode it just restarts. I don't get any kind of error message at all, and as far as I can tell my power settings are set right. One suggestion I found suggested to revert my driver for Intel Management Engine Interface from version 10 or 11 to 9.5. I just reformat my hard drive and start over. I'm trying to avoid that at all costs. I see suggestions on the settings in BIOS. Which settings in particular should I look to change?

Aug 21, 2015I recently upgraded to win10 (yay), which caused a slight issue for my laptop. When I let it enter sleep mode, it would automatically wake up once every few hours or so for "important activities" or something along those lines. I did a google search and managed to find a solution via command prompt.
All was good until I recently noticed that my laptop has stopped going into hibernation/sleep properly. As far as I can work out, when the laptop is set to sleep (through power button settings, windows menu or hotkeys), it goes into sleep mode but then switched off the power supply.

The screen fades like it's sleeping but when I turn it back on it has to go through the entire boot sequence and my session is unsaved.

I have tried so many different things that I don't even know what else to try. I have already run sfc /scannow ..Dism restore health commands.. reinstalling all windows store apps through powershell and a few more things...
What should I do next? I don't want to reinstall windows 10 again.. and by the way, I created a new account and it still doesn't work.. This is what I found in the windows administrative logs :

Sep 28, 2015I used to run Windows 7, 64 bit. Then I took the free upgrade to Windows 10. It took me 3 or 4 attempts to get it to download and install.
Now my computer shuts itself down when it thinks I am away from it. My husband and I run a law office out of our home, and I cannot babysit the computer all day. I need it to stay on until I turn it off.
Here are my power settings:
Turn off display - 20 hours and 10 minutes
Turn off hard disk - 2340 minutes (39 hours)
Sleep - never
Power button - do nothing
But it ignores me. It still turns off my computer all by itself if I am not there giving it constant keystrokes or mouse clicks. Totally unacceptable. If I can't fix this by the 5th, I am going back to 7.
Then I was counseled to o to the ControlPanel/Power Options On the left side, click ‘Choose what the Power button does’, un-check ‘Turn on fast startup’ and save my changes. But that did not work either - it still shut itself down the minute my back was turned. It seems I am not the only one with this problem.

Laptop Never Shuts Down Or Restarts After Upgrade
Aug 3, 2015Whenever I hit restart or attempt to shutdown my system, it proceeds to show me the blue "Restarting" or "Shutting down" screen with the white dots going round in a circle and NEVER shuts down.
I have no problems letting the system sleep or hibernate but restarting or shutting down doesn't work. I have to resort to long pressing the power button.

Jan 26, 2016My computer (an Asus Republic of Gamers) shuts down when in sleep mode. More precisely, I put it in sleep mode (in 1-2 seconds), but when I open the lid or press a key on the keyboard to wake it up, it starts from scratch, as if I had shut it down.
I tried deactivating Intel Management Engine Interface in the Device Manager as I saw it could be a reason for my problem, but it doesn't solve it. I reinstalled Windows from scratch (from a USB key) and the problem is still there.
I only have the computer for less than a month and I think it worked fine at the beginning.
Computer Shuts Down But Does Not Restart Properly
Dec 31, 2015I just built a new pc. Specs are Asus Z87-Pro Motherboard, Intel i7 4790k, 16gb RAM, 3T seagate HD. Everything has been performing well on my computer except for when it needs to restart. When I go into windows and click shutdown it has no problem but when I click restart it will exit windows and turn off the display but the computer will remain running and will not boot back up.
I have to manually press the power button to turn it off and then press it again to boot it back up. This also happens when it needs to restart from other programs. From what I have found is it may have to be something with bios versions or settings but I honestly have no clue. I have the most recent bios update for my mobo and I haven't found any settings that would fix this in my bios either.
Monitor Going Black Constantly And Shuts Off
Oct 23, 2015I am using my desktop (HP Pavilion) with the HP monitor that came with it. I use a DVI cable but recently the monitor is going black constantly and the pace is increasing. As of right now it can blacken one time in 4 minutes or three times in 30 seconds, so it's really annoying.
The computer isn't off, it's just the monitor, so if if I click my mouse I could still pause my video even when the monitor is black. I have to unplug the monitor's power cord then plug it back in and it goes back on.
I tried an HDMI cable too but that did nothing.

Oct 8, 2015I upgraded from 8.1 to 10 and had no problems for a while until I began using sleep mode. About every night or two when in sleep mode, my system shuts down. I'm not here when it does so I don't see a blue screen and appear to have no other problems. I used WhoCrashed and get this info every single time I check it.

Installation :: Laptop Shuts Straight Off During Upgrade
Aug 2, 2015I have a lenovo e425 laptop that recently received the windows 10 upgrade from microsoft. I am currently running windows 8.1 Pro and when i started the upgrade to windows 10, every time it reaches the 30% part where it finishes the copying files part, and it restarts, my computer shuts down completely like *poof*...
When I put my computer back on, and it says attempting to recover installation, it shuts down AGAIN like *poof* Then when I restart it again, it just goes back to "restoring previous windows" and it restarts then my computer shuts off again like *poof* Then when i put it back on, it comes on normally, and says failed to install windows 10.
BSOD :: Laptop Shuts Down When Put Into Sleep Mode
Dec 16, 2015When I close the lid of my laptop, put it into sleep mode, or put it into hibernation mode, the laptop basically shuts down. The power light flashes on and off, but when I reopen the lid or press the power button to turn it back on, the screen flashes grey and reboots.
What I have tried:
Changing all of the advanced power options
Resetting my laptop (to before the issue started occurring)
Restoring my laptop to factory settings
Redownloading windows 10
Disabling the UEFI (BIOS) setting that allows the computer to be turned off to save power
Updating the drivers that were suggested on the windows eight forums
Downloading the chipset driver from Asus
Downloading the ACHI Link Power Management and trying all the settings
What I've done in the command prompt:sfc /scannow then Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth.I also tried the chkdsk command but there were no problems found

Video Signal Shuts Off But Monitor Backlight Says Lit?
Nov 29, 2015Upgraded my system to Windows 10 from 8.1. ASRock Z170 Gaming K4, i7-6700k, 16Gb DDR4, GTX980Ti, 958.87 Win 10 drivers (was using the same version win 8.1 driver) 3 Asus 24" monitors connected with display port to HDMI cables.
After a few minutes of not touching the keyboard or mouse, the monitors appear to have the signal stop being sent but I can see the LED backlights are still on so the screens have a glow, they are not black. As I have a TV tuner card in my system and usually have one monitor showing TV having all 3 screens lose the signal from the video card is a pain. Power setting is set to turn screens off after an hour of inactivity but this issue seems to be the video signal getting shut down.
So is this a Windows 10 or nVidia driver issue? Did not do this with 8.1 with the same driver version.
