I have a form (MS Access 2003) that has a button that when pressed, assigns the current time to field [Time1] using
Code: Me.Time1 = Now()
I have another field [Time2] that adds 15 minutes to [Time1] using the following in the Control Source field
Code: =DateAdd("n",15,[Time1])
I was wanting to use these to force a message box when the system time reached Time2 and tried the following code on the Form ON TIMER event (Interval at 1000 ms) but it does not work.

I tried putting in a manual time in the VBA such as:

which worked. So, I am guessing there is something with my orignal code using Me.Time2 that is causing the problem.
I've taken a break from Access for a while, but I'm back at it again and having some difficulty. I am trying to open a form with a timer to state that the database is going to shut down in five minutes if they don't respond. I'm obviously using the wrong code. I've been trying to use the following:

I have Access 2010 and have made a small system that creates a table as a result of an query based on linked tables. The result is approximately 40 records that are grouped in 4 different priorities where each record has a status of green, yellow or red.
By using the timer event I want to loop through 6 different forms starting with the overall view and herafter priority 1 form, priority 2 form and so on. When the last form has been displayed start over again. Loop for ever until stop button has been pushed on the first form.
The timer is set to 15000 on each form, when I open a form the first thing that happens is that I close the previous open form.
After the system has looped 4 times it gets "SYSTEM RESOURCE EXCEEDED".
I have used 3 days on the internet to try to get a solution on my problem with no luck. I have got so far that it must be something with the timer function. Since if I run it manually (open form, close previously, open next form etc) then no issues.
I created a form to list the number of customers in my lobby. In the Form Footer I placed a field to count the number of customers waiting (Name: CC1, Control Source: =Count([LName]). Works fine.
I want a Beep on the form if the customers exeed 5. I placed the following code in the Timer event but I cannot get the event to work. I believe it has something to do with the field name but I'm unsure. Any help would be appreciated.
My form is always open and runs a timer event which runs a series of functions and procedures. I don't want to run a certain procedure on every timer cycle, but rather, every other timer cycle.
Any thoughts on how best to accomplish this. I'm having a mental block!
I need a query run that brings up a list of customers that need maintence after 6 months after their last maintence service. As soon as you open the DB, the event/query runs and if there are any customers past due to display them. And if there are none, to not even show the query at all.
I have very little experience with timers and if/then statements and don't know how to set this up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
i created a form to work as a menu. At this point the menu has only one option (File) which is a text box. Once the user click on the text box FILE, a list box appears below, leting the user select between a few options. When the user clicked one of the options , a new forms comes (popup and modal in yes).
The problem is that when the second form is closed, the menu still has the list box visible. I would like to make it no visible but i dont know how.
I would like to set the filter property in some forms that are not loaded. Does anybody now how these forms and their properties can be accessed via VBA?
I have a combobox on my form called TypeOfBusiness, with fields including Corporation, Education, Industry, Non-Profit. In order to make a second combobox called IndustryClassification appear when Industry is selected from the TypeOfBusiness combobox, I have used the following code:

It works just fine. However, when a user selects both, say, Industry and Education, the IndustryClassification combobox will not appear. What code I can use to ensure the IndustryClassification box will appear regardless if another box is checked in addition to Industry? I am wondering if it has to do with the Column attribute.
I have a combo box with three columns, the first one is the bound one, the second is text in English, and the third is text in Spanish. Currently when the form is open, both the English and Spanish texts columns are visible. What I would like to do is set up a command button on a different form that will open the form with just the English showing in the combo boxes, and another button for Spanish. I've tried the following code which opens the form, but the combo box is disabled altogether.
I have a db that I added a switchboard to; it has 6 buttons, the first 4 work correctly. The remaining 2 buttons, Btn5 and Btn6 load forms "Gallery" and "Beginner_Pics" that display pictures. These 2 forms work perfectly when I load them directly. These Forms do not pause for a comboBox selection to be made; they act as though a selection was made ending with my error message display. No subsequent ComboBox selections work thereafter. At first I thought the Switchboard was loading old Forms, since the Switchboard was developed before the last two forms were totally debuged, but all old Forms have all been deleted. I do not know where to look for the problem Switchboard or the errant forms. Is it possible I need an "On Load" Event Procedure to force a ComboBox selection?
Hi all. I have a form that opens up another form when you click on a button. The button does more than just open the form, it does other checks. I want to wait until the opened form is closed to continue with the subroutine. Is this even possible in VBA? I was wondering if there was a frmFormName.IsOpen or some kind of flag that would tell me if a form is open or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Next question. If I can get this to work can I then use a DoCmd to open new Form within the code above or do I need a new process.
I have two related forms.One is a list of transactions and the other is used for both inquiry and adding new transactions. If the Inquiry form is just sitting in Add mode and the List form tries to open it in Edit mode, it won't open. Is there a way I can tell from the List form that the Inquiry form is in Add mode and either close it or tell the operator about the issue?
I am having a problem with making a textbox visible on a form if a checkbox is checked on the same form. I have done research on this site and have written the code below, but I am getting a Syntax error, see yellow highlight.
- My checkbox is named: Case is a Readmission from WRCA IP to WRCA IP - My textbox is named: Date of Current IP Admission (I have defaulted this textbox to not visible).

We have a database with one main data entry which stores records in a seperate table. There are several thousand records keyed in using this form. Therefore, alongside the entry we have a search form which allow the user to search for a specific record and display it in the main if he/she needs to edit one.
We have received a request from users for a functionality which allows users to browse all records, using the main form layout, that they have keyed in. I guess what I am asking is: Is there a way to limit the records visible in a form using field on that same form as a limitation (ie. the users name - which is a required key-in)?
I have a Lost/Found property database which we use to keep record of the lost/found property and it is working fine.
As per our organization's policy, we keep the item(s) for up to three months in which if it gets restored to the owner then fair enough otherwise after three months the item(s) can be claimed by the "Finder". But for this very purpose we issue the Finder with a "Claim Receipt" which he/she should bring in when claiming for the item(s) after three months period. Therefore, It's just the right time to upgrade the database to a more professional level.
The database has one table and two forms.
One form (LostFoundForm) is visible to the user in which they enter data, this form has two sections; Item(s) & Finder's details and the second section is about Restoring details.
However the second form (ClaimReceiptForm) is hidden to the users (for manual data entry) and has only one section which is exactly the same as the first form's first section, i.e., Item(s) & Finder's details. This second form takes the data automatically from the first form because the table behind them is same and fields are same (please see attachment). Up to here it's all working fine.
I would like to introduce a Checkbox or a CommandButton in the LostFoundForm which when we click should pull up a msgbox asking "Do you want to print the receipt for this item(s)?" with a Yes/No option. On clicking "No" it should, obviously, settle down but on clicking "Yes" it should print the "corresponding record" from the ClaimReceiptForm.
Hi I' am trying to make a form which executes a macro in every minute. I have put the Timer Interval to 60000ms. But now the form executes the macro only once and I want that macro will be executed always after one minute. So how I can make this work? Do I have to make somekind of loop in code or what?
