I have a table having column as date, format as mm/dd/yyyy and i update the column as now() using VBA.
However some places the date is in mm/dd/yyyy and in some mm/dd/yyyy nn:mm:ss are appearing which is making the filtering of the data ambiuge.
When I try to transfer (ctrl c + v) data from a table in Excel to a table in Access it loses format.
Exemple: $ 1.000,00 (Excel) become 1000 (Access).
I need to keep the format to make sure that the code works properly.
I have a link table that has a field that represents dates - but they are actually just text. It's a long story but the source is not going to change - so I have to try and deal with it. I need it to behave as a date - and am hoping to do this in a query. The data looks like this:

10/08/13
I have tried various things but it does not seem to totally do the trick - if I sort on it it still does not sort as one would expect from an actual date field. How do I do this?
I have a date and time stamp in a Date/Time field of General Date format (3/1/2006 7:52:25 AM).
I wish to select query on the table's Date/Time field by date portion only (3/1/2006) and not include the time portion (7:52:25 AM) of the field.
Using this expression in the query's criteria - "Between [Enter Start Date: (MM/DD/YY Format)] And [End Date: (MM/DD/YY]" will not return the date ranges as desired without also typing in the full time string.
How can the date integer be parsed out and the query properly expression ed on the criteria field without using VB?
I am new in MS Access programming and is trying to create a search form for all records based on selected dates and check box. I was able to filter the records by dates but can't find ways to filter the records that meet the dates to be filtered again based on the selected check box/s. Basically what I wanted to is display all the records within the selected dates and check box/s.

Example date picker included in Access 2010 places the date of 3/20/2013 in one field and I want another field to look at that and show the serial date ie.. 20130320190912. I've achieved this in Excel somehow long ago.
I am using the following in a Query expression to give the day of the week e.g. Monday, Tuesday etc.
Format([Arrival],'dddd',1), where [Arrival] is a date field with a standard Date/Time data type
Is there a simple way that I can modify this so that the result is Lundi, Mardi etc?
I have set a field on my FORM with the General Date format. Every time I use the date picker it inserts the correct date with a time of 00:00? I even changed the format on my table to general date - still no luck.

For example: Any record in the column "user name" matching "Craig" in the parent table should be displayed in the new table.
I also would like for the new table to update automatically anytime a new record meeting the user name criteria ("Craig" for example) is added to the parent table.
I have a series of fairly large csv files which I need to consolidate by importing them to a single Access database. There are of the order of 50-60,000 'lines' per csv and about a dozen different files (all comma de-limited and text-qualified with inverted commas).The problem I have is, there are several date fields within the csv which are not formatted to Access' liking. Namely <Mmm_dd_yyyy_hh:ssAM> with underscores used here to represent spaces.
So for example, today's date appears thus :
Feb 6 2013 12:00AM (i.e. two spaces between 'Feb' and '6')
And this day next week would appear thus :
Feb 13 2013 12:00AM (i.e. one space between 'Feb' and '13')
I will obviously need this field recognised as Date/Time so I can query appropriately but I have no control over the source data and need to find a way of converting the format.One option would be to run a script on the csv's themselves prior to importing but I'm not sure how to do that.import this field as Text and then edit the contents after import (VBA?), such that the field can be redesignated with a data type of Date/Time.
I have a button on a form that creates an email and inserts fields from my database. I have a field that is set to Long Date format type, but when it populates the email, it shows as a Short Date format type. Is there anyway to retain the Long Date format?

I have a linked table in my database. One of the fields on the source table is a date field but the data type is Text. So there is data in the field that represents dates but they are formatted as text like this:

I need the field data to behave as a date, any ideas? I can't change the source data type.
Then...at some point I want to produce a query that shows all records with a date earlier than the current days date...in pointers in the right direction on that will be appreciated also.

I'm using a web based form to store dates (and other records) in an access database. I use the dd/mm/yyyy date format (europe. go figure)
Anyway, the problem is that when submitting an ambiguous date, as in 11/01/2004, access sees it as 01-NOV-2004 rather then 11-JAN-2004, as it should.
Why does this happen, and how can I fix it. I have no problem doing the fixing in the access file itself or in the SQL command that populates it- whatever works best.

The following code is supposed to insert a date formatted as dd/mm/yyyy into a table, when i view the mySQL string in the debug window it shows the correct format, however when i open the table it displays the date as mm/dd/yyyy.
The table's date field userdate is formatted as a short date field with an input mask of dd/mm/yyyy.
My computers date settings are set up as dd/mm/yyyy as well
Any ideas on hows to correct this?

When I run the query I get that field formated as a short date, but when I try to create a table from the same query the data returned is no longer in the date format. I am importing data that has been put onto Notepad into an Access table - this works fine except the date in notepad comes across as a date and a time. When I put the table into a query and ask for the date to be Between [Specify date 1] and [Specify date 2] - does the user have to then put 7/02/2005 00:00:00 AM and xxx. I have tried this but it doesn't return all values. I have also tried just the dates but this doesn't return all values either - any ideas?

In excel the particular column (Time Taken) is in the format of "00:12:26".
After connecting it to access and appending it to the table, the format changed to "12:12:26", the first two digits changed to "12" and the remaining are as it is how it looks like in the excel. I need to change it to format what it looks like in the excel.

So in property of this field in format I put yyyy-mm and in input mask I type 0000-00;;-
I also created the form based on the table containing above field and I defined format and input mask for corresponding formant in the same way like at the table.
But if I try to type date for example 2014-01 in text box of the form it comes up with the full date 2014-01-01. Why does it do like this? What do I do incorrectly?
