I am wanting to make a text box on a form, to return a number (amount of records returned by a query)basically so if the query returns 5 records, the text box on the form will show"5",
Lets say the form is called "A", and the query is called "B" .How do I put this in the source control of the textbox ? < if this is right too ?

I have compiled a very simple database to track staff and training audit requirements for my company.
I am 57 thick as 2 short planks and need some help please.
I wish to ask a text box called "Score" to return a number 2 if a yes/No box is "NO" and a number "1" if the Yes/No box is "YES".
I have looked at the help sections of Access and thought maybe an "IIf" statment in the Validation Rule section of the "Score" box might do the trick.
However, i haven't got a clue as to what the coding should be written like.
Can anybody help me please.
Basically i want to say
"If YES/NO = NO then SCORE = 2 but If YES/NO = YES then SCORE = 1"

I'm having trouble with a Form and getting a text box entry box (Date entry) default to the date entered on the last record, which is linked to a table.
The only way I can get it to work is to type the date into the Text Box's Default property, for example, #11/13/13".
How to get the correct syntax or code into the Default property of the Text Box to make this work? I only want the entry to change versus the previous record/entry if the User changes / enters a new date.
I'm using Dmax() to return a max number in a field which I then want to inc by 1 for a new record. Dmax is returning 999. I believe Dmax therefore thinks it's a text field. So where do I change this to a number field?

I have a combobox [CBreason] that reads from a table to show me why someone is gaining access to the building.
One of the options is "Incident".
When incident is selected I want a textbox [TBIncidentNo] and a button[BIncidentDup] control I made to appear.
I thought that the code:

Me.CBIncidentNo.Visible = True
Me.BIncidentDup.Visible = True

Placed in the after update action of the CBReason box would sufice but it doesnt work
I'm guessing the value is not recognised fro some reason but i cant work out why. There is no error message or issus, it makes the box dissapear when there is no entry but no change for selecting incident.

I have several fields that were set up as text fields since the numbers would never be used for calculation. But now my users want to see 100,000 instead of 100000. I have looked everywhere for an answer but do not know if it is possible without retyping the data. The text or rather the numbers that are text can be from anywhere of 1 to 1,000,000 plus. They are just used to show population figures. How to do this with formatting?

Field 1= "Product ID" which is a text field (PK) but numbers are used (ie 1 -20)
Field 2= Products -showing our list of 20 products
When I enter a new product, currently I have to look in the table to find the last ID used then use the next one available. I have created a form to be used for data entry to enter new products
What I am trying to do is :- 1, have the form open at data entry level but still able to scroll and see all records and 2, Have the form auto generate the next number available. For example, I have 20 products entered so when the form opens to enter a new product, the ID is automatically at number 21.
I wondered if its because the field is a text field or I am trying to insert the code in the wrong place.
I have a subformClientOffers on my frmAllProperties. On the subformClientOffers is a field called Outside Agents. This field allows for multiple values to be selected.
The subfrmClientOffers is in datasheet view.
While the field Outside Agents DOES allow me to select more than one, they post in the field one after another:
Ken Shaw, John Doe, Jane Doe, Harlan Bestlyn
Therefore, the datasheet view of the subformClientOffers causes the field Outside Agents to get very long, much too long to view without scrolling. My client wishes for everything on the frmAllProperties to be viewable without scrolling.
Is there anyway, to cause the field Outside Agents to place a return between each selected name (sort of a wrap text kind of thing)?
One thing I might mention is that the field is a drop down field from tblOutsideAgents. The table itself has First Name and Last Name, but I concatenated that into Fullname on the form, so that when the user opens the drop down they see the entire name. I don't know if that would have any effect on making the 'return' thing work or not.
I can't use this field as a subdatasheet because I already have one subdatasheet attached to the subform to show multiple notes on each Client Offer.

I have a field in a table where it is a lookup is a combo box. So this makes the data type of the field a number when in reality it is a text. When I have this field show in a list box it shows the number instead of the text.

At the moment, if i am editing the database any user trying to access the database gets a error warning them, they the database is in admin.
But if another user is in the database while i am trying to change a form / report, i am unable to save.
I no the simple way to do this would be to do changes whilst no-one is in. Its just some minor tweeks need doing during the day.

I have a form with a listbox on, the listbox uses a query to populate it, which returns a list of client names. The idea is, when I enter the clients name in a text box, the list is narrowed, through use of the query.
This works fine, and always has - very pleased with it, the problem comes when I decide I want to be able to search on the account number as well - which it always throws errors about.
I am using the following query (posting the sql, hope that is OK)

The problem is because I am only using ONE text box, but the surname is (obviously) text, and the account number is (obviously!) a number. SO - it throws a wobbler about it being too complex to evaluate when I try to search for a surname, trying to search for an account number works just fine.
Any ideas how to get around this?
I have designed a database where there are several forms that pull information from the back end table and only one used to input data. I have changed the table to allow "Year Group" to be text so that I can input "R" for our Reception. On the input form this is fine, however, on the two forms that are used to compile reports it is saying "R" isn't an allowed value.
I have attached the front end file, back end table and the two affected tables are frm_Report Builder and frm_Analysis Builder. I'm only a beginner and I'm sure this is easy but I can't seem to find where these forms say this should only be a number
I would like to run a query which takes a code which contains a mixture of number and letter and returns all the number before the first letter. I was using the left function (=Left(([Codes],2)) but sometimes there is one number sometime two. The desired results are shown below;

Is there a way to make just part of the text in a text box bold, or to use different font sizes in the same text box?

One thing I'd like to be able to do is to specify the line height of a blank line in a text box. I'm using carriage returns created with: Chr(13) & Chr(10). I could see defining the font size of a hidden character, but I'd need to know how to assign a font size to a piece of the text in a font box.
I have tried to use a bit of code so return the Last Year and WeekNo in my database, to select some records but�. It currently fails, I think this because it returns the values as text and will then not compare to a numeric field. Is there an easy way to change this code so it returns numbers.
