General :: Removing Customizing Access Toolbar Button

Jan 23, 2014

I am currently using the code

Code:
<customUI
xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2009/07/customui">
<ribbon startFromScratch="True">

[Code]...

To remove the file button from access. however the more commands button in the quick access toolbar renders this method pointless unless i can remove the more commands button. How to remove the "customise quick access" button or failing that how to remove the more commands button?

Customizing A Toolbar

Jun 28, 2006

Hi,
I was trying to customize a toolbar by adding the "size to shortest", "size to narrowest", etc., stuff from the format menu. The first item, "size to tallest", I just clicked and dragged from the format menu onto my toolbar, and that worked fine....except that it disappeared from the format menu. Then, I tried to drag "size to tallest" back to the format menu; Now it has disappeared totally from both my toolbar AND my format menu. How do I get it back???

BTW, I found out if I ctl-drag items from the format menu to my toolbar, they stay on the format menu but also appear on my toolbar. Wish I had known that before ....

General :: All Objects Toolbar Opens When Hit Print Button On Form

The problem I'm having is when I use the print button (access macro) on one of my forms, as soon as i click the button, the "all access objects" window opens on the left side navigation. This window shows all of my tables, forms, queires..etc.Is there a setting that will permanately stop this from opening?

Disable Button On Toolbar

Mar 5, 2007

Hi all,

This has to be simple, but the solution eludes me.

I have a database that works really weel, but I need to do some tweaking to the toolbars to "grey out" the "sort ascending" and "sort descending" icons so that hte users do not mess with those and change how the recoerds display.

There has to be an easy way to disable those two buttons or an alternate way to ensure that the form basically ignores them.

Thanks

Customizing Access Parameter Queries

Apr 7, 2006

Hi
I wonder if anyone could re-orientate me and put me in the correct direction regarding the above subject. Without wittling on too much what I,ve been basically trying to do is to get a query that I've made, derive its criteria from a form that has 3 combo boxes on it allowing a user to select varying options. I have been using a forum thread which described the process in more detail and whilst I,ve followed it to the letter the end result that I get
an annoying message "The expression On Click event that you entered as the event property setting produced the following error: A problem occured while MS Access was communicating with the OLE server or Active X control. It goes onto say that the expression may not result in the name of a macro, the name of a user defined function, or [Event Procedure].There may have been an error evaluating the function, event or macro". The thread took me to www.fontstuff.com/access/acctut08.htm and it is on this site that I have been trying in vain to come up with a matching result. Am I going mad or is there someting on their tutorial that is mis-leading me! I am desperately trying to adminster some 'self help' and to use the forum threads but I am still at a loss as to what to do next. Could some kind person please help...

Queries :: Customizing Access Parameter Query - No Data

Apr 22, 2015

I don't want my user to type in the parameter value for a query in case of miss spelling. Therefore, I'm using a dialog box form with a combo box field. The row source of the combo field is a table with one field for the list. I've added VB code (Event Procedure) to a buttons on the dialog box which says to run a query after click. I've created the query for the info I need displayed and am using the forms combo field as the criteria.

Private Sub cmdOK_Click()
DoCmd.OpenQuery "qryRequestsbyBranch", acViewNormal, acEdit
DoCmd.Close acForm, "frmDepartmentList"
End Sub

The query runs except I'm not getting any data.

Custom Toolbar In Access 2007

Mar 27, 2007

Just recently updated to 2007 and found something I would like to adjust.... But can't find out how, or if I can.
I have a DB done in Access xp, it has a custom toolbar. Well, works fine in 2002,2003... but when I open the DB in 2007 first, I have to click "Add ins" to even get it to appear and then it is WAY too big! It is only about 5 small items...A-z, Z-a, "Lightning bolt" for filter on, and "filter off" but the height is the same as the other "Ribbon". Is there a way to adjust the appearance? AND make it visible when the DB opens?

Thanks

Removing Hash Sign In HyperLink Address (On Click) Command Button

Apr 14, 2012

I have a command button on a Web Mutli-Record form that is using a "= [Report_URL]" value within the Hyperlink Address property. This all seems to work other than the fact that when the link popups up it has a "#" on either side that basically makes it an invalid address. How do I get rid of the # signs to get the web address popup in the URL when a user clicks on the Command Button that is associated to the row the record is on.

Hiding Access Toolbar In Form View

Aug 24, 2007

Hi.

I have a widely used application in Access 97.

Anyway, some staff are not using the forms' menu buttons but are playing around with the Access toolbar (file, edit, et cetera).
The administrator wants me to either disable that toolbar or hid eit from view. Any ideas?

Removing Access Security?

Jul 7, 2005

Hi all, i tried searching, but didn't really come up with an answer

i have an access database I'm trying to link up dynamically with a website, but everytime i try to link up to fields from tables in the databse, i'm getting an error claiming i dont have permission. i have administrator access to the files, yet it's always happening. im under the impression the only thing is remove all the security levels and groups/users so there are none in place, but i wouldnt want to have to copy+ paste everything

is there an easy way to remove the security so i can use it dynamically on a webpage? if i have to make a new database, is there an easy way to copy it all?

thanks in advance

Safely Removing Replication From Access 2003 Db.

May 1, 2006

The short Questions:
1) How do I safely remove replication from a copy of an MS Access 2003
database? Safely as in without affecting any of the other replicated copies?
2) How can I find all the copies of this database still being replicated to
after the design master has been lost?

The long Questions:
Hello All, I’m new to Access replication and have started at a company that
uses several Access databases with replication. We are creating a new site
using a similar database structure. I’ve made a copy and would like to start
by removing replication both because it is not necessary in our environment.
Also I’m about to make some database changes and am worried they changes or
record deletions will be propagated. As mentioned I do not believe there is
any reason to use replication for this project so I would like to remove it
for all databases, unfortunately several of the databases are very critical
so I want to be as informed as I can before making any changes since if I
break it and do not know enough to fix it my company would loose a lot of
money. Is there anyway from a given database (besides the replication master,
it has been long lost) to find all the databases that are replicated?

Lastly before undertaking this project is there any advice anyone here can
give me to better my chances of success? Any lessons learned?
-Brian Sky

Removing Html Tags From Access 2007

Feb 6, 2008

I did not know where to ask this question or how to ask, so please excuse me.

We have an Access 2007 database that updates an Access 2003 database. My problem is, the data in 2007 is formatted and when the 2003 table is updated, it displays the html formatting tags. Is there a way to remove the formatting (convert to plain text from rich text?) during the update?
