I'm new to Access and I'm trying to figure out how to use Access to populate documents. I assume I would create a form asking for information, and then Access would populate document(s) using the information.
For example, I need this information plugged into multiple Word Documents (or I guess I could combine all the word documents into a single PDF)
Name: John Smith
Project Number: 12345
Duration: 120 Days
Summary: This work would include...
...etc.
And then the program would use the information from the form to fill in an already created template, sometime using the same piece of information more than once:
_____________________ has a project number of _________________________. _________________________ has a duration of _______________________. The duration of ____________________ includes days associated with project number ____________________. The summary is __________________________________________________ _____________.
The template may go on for hundreds of pages, but the information from the form would still be used throughout most of the pages.
I have a simple database for my rv rental business, I want to be able to import an existing form into access and then use the data in my dbase to fill in the forms to print and have the customer sign the contract etc. I use 2003 how would I go about doing this?
Public Declare Function LoadImage Lib "user32" _ Alias "LoadImageA" _ (ByVal hInst As Long, _ ByVal lpsz As String, _ ByVal un1 As Long, _ ByVal n1 As Long, _ ByVal n2 As Long, _ ByVal un2 As Long) _ As Long
[code]...
I can load the little icon on the left on CaptionBar.It works very well on overlapping mode but no on Tabbed documents. How to works with tabbed documents mode?
How to set a single form's property to act as it's own "overlapping window" in a database that is set to use tabbed documents. I want most windows to have the tabbed layout but there are a few that I would like to have pop out and be their own windows.
I noticed that the Northwind database did this somehow. if you click on one of the products from the home screen a form pops up in its own window. I tried reverse engineering it, but no luck so far.
I've tried manipulating my code in always but cant solve my current issue.My 3 tables are Clientdetails, Clientcontact and Clientdoctor.All the lookups below work fine. clientname is a textbox i use to search the Database and populate my form unbound. i want to populate other textboxes with data from Clientcontact table as well. I'm using a command button relevant to the clientname search.
I am newish to background coding in access 2010. I have a call log with a form which is where the information on the caller/area is entered. There's a combo box that needs to populate a textbox with 3 different things, depending on whats selected. I'm using If,Then, Else.
The first selection needs to just have the textbox say something. I have that figured out with:
If Me.CboSource = "..." Then Me.Title = "..." (cboSource = combo, of course, and Title is the textbox.)
Next is where I'm fuzzy....The second selection needs to have the textbox populate with a dropdown list of choices from another table. No matter what I do, nothing is working. My latest attempt is:
ElseIf Me.CboSource = "External" Then Me.Title = [tablename].[name]
I have a table which contains 2 fields. UserID and FullName..Each employee is assigned a barcode (UserID) and what I would like is when they scan their barcode into the form their name comes up. There is a second table containing records of documents and I am hoping that this form will allow an employee to scan their ID, their name comes up, scan a document and the title of the document comes up, there would be a current date box and then that whole transaction is saved as a record in another table. Long story short I want to know who is accessing what records and to have it logged.
I am trying to open a form from my main form and populate fields from one to the other (then press a button).if the form is opened in dialog mode then the code won't run to populate the form (until it is closed or not visible).
The main form is showing an address, but the user can click a button to amend this. Once clicked, the Property Form is opened - I don't want the user to need to fill in all the address details again. I want this pulled through from the main form so the user can make an amendment, then save the new address.
Code: DoCmd.OpenForm "frmPropertySearch", , , , , acDialog With Forms!frmPropertySearch .Form.Visible = False If Not IsNull(Me.Building_Name) Then strBuildingName = Me.Building_Name .txtBuilding_Name = strBuildingName End If End With
I have a form with a combo box at the top that works fine. The combo box is linked to a table that has 5 parcels of land with area size, address, type. On my form i need to populate a textbox with a formula depending on what parcel of land was selected at the combo box. Such as price x area of land selected.
I have a table filled with company contacts and form with a combo box containing the contacts names.
When a contact is selected I want it to show their Telephone, Mobile and email address in text boxes below. But it only shows the telephone number and the other two fields stay blank.
what I'm doing wrong ?
I have this code assigned to the combobox:
Code: Private Sub MainContact_Change() Me.Text169 = Me.MainContact.Column(3) Me.Text167 = Me.MainContact.Column(2) Me.Text177 = Me.MainContact.Column(1) End Sub
And this is the row source:
Code: SELECT tbl_Contacts.Salutation & " " & tbl_Contacts.ContactForename & " " & tbl_Contacts.ContactSurname AS MainContact, tbl_Contacts.ContactTelephone, tbl_Contacts.ContactMobile, tbl_Contacts.ContactEmail FROM tbl_Contacts WHERE (((tbl_Contacts.ID_Company)=[tbl_CompanyBookings].[ID_Company]));
Is there anyway to scan documents and save them in an Access table? As of now we scan them and save them to a folder on the network. Then go into Access form to add them into the tables. Would like to automate this process all from Access but have know idea how to go about this. Any suggestions?
Sorry but I'm really new to Access and trying to make sense of all the useful advice on here!
I'm trying to programme a button in one of my forms to open up a word document as read-only. I've written the code to open up the Word application (before I found the button which did it for me! :( ) but I think I need to add one or two more lines so that word knows where the document is I want and opens it up - any ideas what these lines are?
Real sorry for the trouble - any help would be most appreciated! Thanks guys and girls.
I'm using a lookup table to populated a combo box on my form. I use a provided list of input strings (hundreds) in my combo box and the list is provided in all caps. How can I convert these provided words (strings) to first cap from either the quarry level or form level.
Code: Private Sub Check253_AfterUpdate() If Me.Check253 = -1 Then Me.Text254 = DLookup("[Lot]", "[tblAutoGen]", "[Inuse] = -1") Me.Text256 = DLookup("[Exp]", "[tblAutoGen]", "[Inuse] = -1") Me.Text258 = DLookup("[Lot]", "[tblEthanol]", "[Inuse] = -1")
[Code] ....
I am using the code above on my form and it seems to be working. My question is there a way to populate a textbox (Text255) based off a login?
For example, lets say JSmith is loged in to the computer. Is there a way that JS could populate Text255? If then say JCarter is logged on, the JC populates Text255.
I've got an access front-end database running on Access Runtime on a Terminal Server with a back-end on a data server both of which are hosted by a remote company and accessed via Terminal Services. All is well and the database is working fine but because this is a cloud system I need a way that I can easily delve into the tables on the back-end without copying it down locally from the cloud each time (I've set up an "administrator" option so that this would be available to limited users). I've got the front-end forms working as I'd like but I have quite a few tables and I'd like to avoid creating a separate form for every table. I've been able to populate a combobox on my form with the list of linked tables and I'd like that when I choose a particular table from this list that the whole table is then visible within a subform below in case I need to manually intervene with the data for any reason.
In my tables I have a field called first serial. This is the first element of a serial number range associated with each record. Very rarely I have to ask the user to specify a certain serial number in that range. (The serial numbers can be generated easily from the first serial) This happens during the run of a macro, so I have to use a Fom opened with WindowMode:=acDialog. The problem is that I have to populate a listbox with the generated serial numbers on that form. But I can't interact with a dialog form, since it stopos the running of the macro. I have tried to open it hidden, and change the modal property to true once the listbox have been populated, but this dosen't stop the macro to wait for user input.Is it possibble to pass the first serial value to the form, and populate the listbox in one of the Form's opening events?
