Is There A Way To Export Access Date Field Without The Time?

Dec 21, 2007

Right now to get my Access database into MySQl I have to copy it out of Access into Excel then I export it to a delimited text file.

I would like to eliminate the Excel part and go directly from Access to a text file.

The problem is with the date fields. When exporting from Access it always adds the time (00:00:00) which MySQL chokes on. It seems there should be a way to do this with the export function, so that the date is just the date and no time.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm exporting a query from Access to an ASCII text file. It is automatically adding a time stamp (0:00:00) to the end of ALL of my date fields. I would like it if it didn't do this...:D

Tables :: Date / Time Field In Access 2010 Modified In Sharepoint List

Dec 2, 2013

I have a table in my Access 2010 Database with few date/time fields. I have set different formats like Short Time, Medium Time etc. But when I link this table to Sharepoint list, all the date/time fields have been modified to their default format (General Date).

Is there a way we can keep the formats as such even after linked to Sharepoint list? If not, is there a workaround?

Ignore Time In Date And Time Field

Mar 6, 2007

Hi,

Wonder if someone can help please. I'm quite new to Access so please bear with me.

I have a data field in my database consisting of both a date and time.

I then have a form containing two fields where the user can type a 'To' and 'From' date to extract the records that they are interested in. The query behind this uses the 'Between[Enter The Date] And [Enter The Date]' coding.

The problem is that because the field contains a time it doesn't return any records when I run the query.

Can anyone offer a bit of guidance on how I could ignore the time part of the field perhaps by adapting the above.

Many thanks

Chris

Sort By Time Only In A Date / Time Field

Mar 19, 2014

I have a column/field named [DateTaken] which contains test dates and times in the same cell. I am needing to find those with a test time less than 2:30 pm or <14:30pm.

data looks like this:

8/22/13 4:23 PM
1/29/14 12:21 PM
1/28/14 3:27 PM
8/26/13 4:27 PM

[code]....

this is what I have come up with to extract the time component of data set so that I can then later, sort it by the time in a query.

JustTime: TimeValue([YourField])
JustTime: ("hh:mm",([DateTaken])) and or ("hh:mm",[DateTaken])

I get either invalid operator or invalid syntax errors trying both of these.

If the value in the database is 24 hours prior to the current date(), I need to flag a text box a diffrent color to alert the user. I am unsure on the If statement that I will need to produce this result.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Hard Code TIME To Selected Date On Form (to Make It Date&time) For My Query Criteria

Aug 17, 2006

Hello buddies :D, do you have any idea how to make this work?

To select data that falls within this criteria of date range between cboDate and cboDate2 (fields on my form). The date in [tblJobDetails]![timeIn] come in this format "08/17/06 10:24 AM", but the cboDate/cboDate2 (takes in date only e.g 08/17/06) what i am after is to evaluate specific hard coded time in addition to the date entered, i.e. even tho, i haven't entered time on the cboDate/cboDate2, I want specific time hard coded where e.g If i select a date range of 08/17/06 and 08/18/06 on my cboDate and cboDate2 it should really be evaluating: 08/17/06 8:00 AM to 08/18/06 8:00 AM.

This is the criteria i curentlly have on my query in design view tha works perfect in selecting date only.
([tblJobDetails]![timeIn]>=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate] Or [tblJobDetails]![timeIn]>=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate] Is Null) And ([tblJobDetails]![timeIn]<=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate2] Or [tblJobDetails]![timeIn]<=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate2] Is Null)
How can I incorporate 8:00am to 8:00am into my cboDate and cboDate2. What can i do to make this happen? Your kindness will be greatly appreciated http://www.naijaryders.com/forums/images/smilies/thankyou.gif

I have a form with date/time field. I have the default value at =Now(). My problem is I would like for this particular field to stay with the current date/time all the time. I mean if I created a form last week with the date/time of 3/14/2005 12:54:34 PM and go back to the same form to edit something this week I would like for that particular date/time to be the current date/time and not the date/time from the week and time the original form was created.

Thanks for any help!

Else
rst![Updated] = " "
rst![Volume] = "0"
End If
rst.Update
rst.Close

The message I am getting is 'Data type conversion error'.

How do I get this field to be blank by code?

Validate Field Containing Date AND Time

Apr 24, 2013

I have a field that contains an input mask : 99/99/00 99:00;0;_ this allows the user to enter a date and time in one field. Such as 04/24/13 15:00 . I want to put validation on that field, so that the user can't enter a time that does not exist such as "25:30" or a date that hasn't happened yet. How to accomplish that? The data is going into a linked SQL table so I'm limited on what I can do on the table end I think.

Date And Time (SQL Vs MS ACCESS)

Sep 7, 2007

Hi guys, im really unfamiliar with MS access so could use a bit of guidance.

I have an SQL server back end and MS access front end, im trying to run a simple date query to look at records with todays date only.

In sql it would be something like: -

SELECT Contract, convert(char(10), DispatchDate,103) as [Dispatch Date]
FROM BinLocations
where convert(char(10), DispatchDate,103) = (select convert(char(10), getdate(), 103))

I know i can use date() within MSaccess, but not sure i would convert the datetime field within sql to display this in msaccess.

Anyone have the ms equivilant to my sql query?

Thanks in advance

Note: datatype for this field within sql is date/time

Queries :: Getting Date / Time Range - Date And Time Are Separate Fields

Mar 13, 2014

I have a database with date and time each stored in a separate field. Now I want to query the database based on a start date/time and an end date/time. I started with the code below but it only returns events within the same time range on each day when what I really need is every event from a specified date and time through a specified date and time.

SELECT myTable.ID AS myTable_ID, myDate, myTime, FirstName, LastName
FROM Staff INNER JOIN myTable ON
Staff.ID = myTable.StaffID
WHERE myTable.myDate >= #3/2/2014#
AND myTable.myDate <= #3/3/2014#
AND myTable.myTime >= #8:00PM#
AND myTable.myTime <= #11:00PM#
ORDER BY myDate desc

In the above example what I want is every event from 3/2/2014 8:00PM until 3/3/2014 11:00PM. But what I get instead is every event between 8:00PM and 11:00PM on 3/2/2014 and every event between 8:00PM and 11:00PM on 3/3/2014.

Inserting A Record With A Date/time Field

Feb 2, 2005

Hi,

I'm trying to insert a record into an Access database from some ASP Code.

I have:

...
strSQL = "INSERT INTO tblUser (UserID, Date, Comments) VALUES " & _
(" & nID & ", #" & Now() & "#, " & "''" & strComments & "');"
conn.Execute(strSQL)
...

I'd have thought this should work but it doesn't.I just get a "Syntax error in INSERT INTO statement".

My date field, called "Date" (just in case that's a problem!) in my database has no input mask defined, it's just a basic date/time field. I've tried replacing the '#' symbols with single quotes, and doesn't work either. I haven't had any luck finding a definitive example of how to do this, even though it's trivial surely. All the similar examples I've found talk about how to update a record set with a date, or how to set the system locale, etc.

Any ideas as to what I might be doing wrong?

Querying Time Stamped Date Field

Sep 2, 2007

Hi,

I use a query to return values between two dates, here's the code I use:

Between [Select Start Date:] And [Select End Date:]

However because my dates are time stamped (they need to be!) the query omits anything on the end date, for example:

Between [01/09/2007] And [05/09/2007] will return values for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th but not the 5th - because (I think I'm right in thinking this but I might not be!) it only returns values upto midnight on the 4th? so 05/09/2007 13.42pm won't show up because it's after 11.59 on the 4th.

I can't ask people to enter in an extra day because quite alot of people who use our database won't remember and it'll cause alot of problems when they forget and get the wrong figures.

I've tried adding the following:
" & "11:59:59""

onto the code but Access says the expression is typed wrong or is too complicated to be evaluated.

Does anyone know how to fix this code please??

thank you for your time

Subtracting 12 Hours From A Date-time Field

Nov 13, 2007

I am trying to subtract 12 hours from a time-date field when the payperiod does not equal 01.

in a query I have:

work date: iif([payperiod]="01",[StartTime],[starttime]-#12:00:00#) - Access added a PM before the second hash so it looks like this:

iif([payperiod]="01",[StartTime],[starttime]-#12:00:00 PM#)

When I run the query I get a message box: "syntax error (missing operator) in query expression '00:00:PM#,2))". I am unable to open the query to correct the error. I can cop the unaltered query from a back up database.

My question is how do I subtract the 12 hours.

Thanks
