I currently have a combo box that filters form based on specialist (an employee using the system), and this works fine:

Private Sub FilterSpecialist_AfterUpdate()
Me.Filter = "SpecialistAssigned = '" & Me.FilterSpecialist & "'"
Me.FilterOn = True
End Sub

When Specialist Assigned name is selected, it only shows their cases (records of the form that are assigned to them).

However, now I'm trying to also filter based on only the selected Specialists Open cases. I have a combo box at the bottom of the form that saves whether the Case is Open or Closed, (creatively) called CaseOpenClosed:

Private Sub FilterSpecialist_AfterUpdate()
Me.Filter = ("SpecialistAssigned = '" & Me.FilterSpecialist & "'" And CaseOpenClosed = "Open")
Me.FilterOn = True
End Sub

I've tried this based on me searching the forum but it doesnt filter at all anymore, and no error either. I've tried other ways but get errors. What is wrong with this?

Forms :: Filter Based On Multiple Selections - Referencing A Control On A Subform

I have a multi select list box which I am trying to use to open another form and apply a filter based on the user's multiple selections.

List box - lstCatergories
Main Form - frmSuppliersSummaryCategories
Subform on Main Form - frmSuppliersSummaryCategoriesSubForm

The Subform contains the text box CategoryID

Here's my code which nearly works...

My problem is that the control "CategoryID" is on the subform and I'm having massive problems trying to reference it. This is the part of my code that won't work:

However; if I open the SubForm directly it works perfectly. I.e.

DoCmd.OpenForm "frmSuppliersSummaryCategoriesSubform", acFormDS, , "CategoryID IN(" & strWhere & ")"

To summarise... How do I reference the control "CategoryID" on the subform "frmSuppliersSummaryCategoriesSubform"?

I am trying to get my VBA to filter the subform, as currently it does nothing! I have copied it from a source on another forum and at the end of the VBA it originally opened up the query.

However I am trying to tailor this query so that instead of it opening the query I can have a datasheet on the form that displays the filtered records..

There are 3 multiselect listboxes

I Need A Query To Reflect A Value Based On Combo Box Selections

Hi all,

In my database, different Customers have different Rates.

I am trying to run a query that will pull a value dependent upon The Service Type & Customer that have been selected from combo boxes.

My database tables are as follows;

(Rate Profile Table)
RateID
ON8
ON11
SD

(Customer Profile Table)
CustomerID
CustomerName
CustAddress
RateID

(Shipments Table)
ShipmentID
WaybillNo
Date
ServiceTypeID

The ServiceTypeID is selected on the Shipments Form by making a selection from a combo box that has been populated by the RateID Table Field Names (which are the service types).

Everything works fine but I need to be able to run a query to calculate the freight charge (from the appropriate rate in the Rate Profile Table) according to which Customer & Service Type has been selected, but not having much joy.

I would be extremely grateful if someone could point me in the right condition.

Filter Subform Based On Combo Box

Hello everyone!

I think I am asking the impossible, but can't think why it can't be done!

Here's the dilema:

I am working with an unbound form to search a Mobile Register.

On the form I have an unbound combo box which looks up User details from a table (LKP_User).

When I select a user, I want the subform below to filter all the details for that user and show me which mobiles they have.

PROBLEM:
Combo Box has 3 fields, User_ID, User, Dept_ID. User_ID is bound column but not displayed in combo (only User) is displayed.

I need to link the User_ID with the User_ID on the subform, but don't know how to tell it to look at column 1 of the combo box.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Do I need some fancy code to get this to work?

My Access 2003 Database contains the following objects:

1. tblTrackerData
- this contains over 1,000 student enrollment records.
One of the fields "QualCourseName" (text) contains the name of the Training Course that the student has enrolled in.

2. qryCourseNamesGrouped is a query based upon the above table with one field only - QualCourseName. This includes the names of the training courses and has been grouped so that only 17 training courses appear, not over 1,000.

3. frmParameter is a form that includes a combo box cboFiltered based on the above query AND a command button CmdFiltered to open a report rptCourseNamesGrouped and filter the report based on the selection made from the combo box.

I have added the following code to the OnClick event attached to the cmd button"

I have a form that is filter based on a combo box. I would like to add another filter for date. but the code I'm using for the first combo box doesn't work for date.

I have a form and a subform with a master/child relationship set based on the primary key of each underlying table. All good there.Now, I want to use VBA to create a filter based on a set of inputs via combo boxes. But the filter must filter both the Parent and Child records.Example. "Show me only records where both only the Parent.Field1 = "string" and Child.Field = "string".I can do this in a QRY as follows:

SELECT Projects.[Project Number], Lessons.[Actions Resolved]
FROM Projects INNER JOIN Lessons ON Projects.ProjectsRecordID = Lessons.ProjectsRecordID

But, if I make this as a record source for the Parent Form, then the records in the Parent Form are repeated for each individual record in the Child form.

My problem I am having is that in my database you can click around to different customers info on forms and from there you can click on a button to get to another form that lists all of the customers vehicles. From there I have a billing report that I created and I am trying to filter the report to get what I want on there.

I have been searching around and have found codes to filter reports so that right now I have it when I click on Billing Report it filters by the customers form i am on. But now where i am having some issues is that I am also looking to filter by a yes/no field so that anything clicked yes for that customer will be filtered to show on this report.

I have some code in which I enter a startdate and a enddate into textbox's and a combo box where I enter a client name when I run the code it will show all record's generated with in the date range and same client name set in the combo box "cboclient" what I would like to be able to do is have another combo box call cboclient2 which will allow me to enter another client name so then when the report opens it will show me with in the date range set in startdate and enddate and filter the client field by cboclient and cboclient2 so for e.g.

So I have a search form that I created that has also a subform (a continous form, that has a query as its source) where my records are listed. I started on making a Between dates filter where i would be able to pick dates and get the results of records that are in that range.

I put two text boxes in which I set format to Short Date so that I get the button to select the date from a calendar for each text box. Then I made a button that is only for this and added a Clickon code so that it filters my subform over the recordsource of the form. The problem is is that i get an error and it doesn't filter.

I have a main form with multiple combo boxes that filter a subform datasheet. In my main form combo box [PR_Filter] I added a selection titled "<Blanks>". When I select "<Blanks>", I want it to filter my subform field [PR] for NULL values. If I select anything else I want it to filter on that selection. I cannot get the NULL filter to work.

My goal is to use a combo box on a nav pane to filter the following 5 nav panes with data sheet views on them. The combo shows 'component' and should filter each datasheet to only show records with the same 'component' selected in its respective component column.

What I'm currently dealing with is said component combo disappearing upon nav change, and I can't get it to filter the datasheet..but that is likely due to the fact that I cant get it to hold value on page switch.

Combo Box Only Allows SOME Selections

I have a combo box in a form. The box is linked to a table called Therapy with 3 fields: TherapyID, Therapy_Type and Therapy_Cost.

The table has been populated with 5 records:
1 Physical Therapy $125
2 Occupational Therapy $125
3 Acupuncture $90
4 Swedish Massage $65
5 Raindrop Treatment $65

I have a field on the form that pops up the cost when one of these is selected in the combo box. This seems to be working but for some reason, and it's blowing my mind, the combo box refuses to let me select Occupational Therapy or Raindrop Treatment.

I have other pick lists of other things working perfectly well, allowing all selections and popping the costs into their little text fields quite happily.

Can anyone give me a hint as to why THIS one isn't working right?

Send Report Based On Email Selections?

I like this form I have that allows me to send attachment when email is entered.However, I would like to have a list box of Name and Email Address. when selected the email address is now set (same as before but just as a drop down) I type my message etc...But the attachment part I would like to send a specific report (that connects to that email address) so that it will only send jobs connected to that person.

Combo Box Multi Selections?

I would like to select multiple records from my combo box not at the same time but each selection to be added to another text field in my form.

PROBLEM: When I select a record that 1st selection is populated in the other text field however when I want to select another choice to be added with the 1st choice the selection overwrites the 1st choice instead of adding to it.

Multiple Combo + Last 5 Selections

Howdy all, Ive got combo boxes, in a cascading style working well... but what id like to also have is a another dropdown list that shows the last 5 selected options (because often the data will be entered in batches and it should just save time)there is combo1 combo2 and combo3 If Sport is selected in combo1 then it displays combo2 with all the sports in it, so if golf is selected then the golf options come up in combo3 for example tiger, So id like to store Sport > Golf > Tiger Ive already got the value for Tiger being selected, so I can assign that easily enoughWhat id like to be able to do is store the name and its value in a combo box maybe showing the last 5 selections. Im just not sure what the best way to go about this would be, Should I make a table with say 5 rows? or is there a better way to go about it?Any thoughts or advice would be awesome,Cheers Ezy

Forms :: Display TextBox Value Based On Combobox Selections

I have a form that has 3 combo boxes and a text box that I want to be a lookup. I have a little experience with DLookUp, but I do not think that will work here. The three combo boxes are linked to queries, and Tables. The first combo box is for choosing "Precious" or "Base" metals. The second combo box is filtered from the first and displays the "Metal Names". The third combo box is to choose a "Metal Market". There are currently four options for that. I want the text box to display the "Metal Market Price" based on the second and third combo box selections.

Here is a screenshot of the table with all of the metals and their market prices filled in with dummy values for now:
