Modules & VBA :: Save NOW (Date And Time) Into Event Log File
Oct 16, 2014
I want to save NOW() (i.e. Date and time) into an event log file. But I just cannot work out the syntax. My insert statement works fine without the date field in, but fails on a syntax error (3134) when I include it.
I need code for save dialog file ,and select the file from textbox and save it to the selected location.i have only this code and i dont know what else i can do with this because it just opens the save file dialog !
I currently have a working model which opens up a word document template, fills the bookmarks with info from access, saves the file as a preset name and then send the document on Outlook.
What I would like to do is save the document as a variable, preferably as something like " Climbing Request for site (and then to lift the site name from Access form field and insert here) "
E.G " Climbing Request - Newcastle Central Station.doc"
I have some project run on MS-Access as front-end with database linked to MS-SQL Server. I have some column of table contain Date-Time data that store data as General Date format (ie 01/01/2005 08:00:00). I create some form for my staff to key in a data of lab test that they will be key in only time with out date value. On form, I show this value as time only too. But I want to use this data with Date value for some calculate as backgroud process.
So...
In case of new data, Database will be store my data as CurrentDate with Time that my staff key in.
In case of data update, Database will be store my data as ExistDate with Time that my staff may update.

i'm using a form with an unbound text box to temporarily hold data that i want to use in several other places (all those functions work great). last step is to save the newly created table with a different name (will be used for a mail merge later so must be a separate table or else we'd have to filter thousands of records during each mail merge) and i want to use the data i've temporarily held in my unbound text box within my form as the name in the save as function.
can i specify a variable as a file name within the save as function? is there a better way?
I would need removing the lines from an .xls file(stored in shared folder) and saving the same. I used the below code and not successful in removing and saving the file stored in the shared area..When I execute the code, Cursor hangs at this line
Set objWB = objXL.Workbooks.Open(filename)
Code:
Set objXL = CreateObject("Excel.Application") Set objWB = objXL.Workbooks.Open(filename) Set objWS = objWB.Worksheets("Sheet1") objWS.Rows("1:6").Delete
I have a table with an attachment field called email, where a .msg file is stored for each record. Looking for code to save this contents of this field in a folder in my drive.
I want to create a Macro saves the report in a specific location, and uses two fields within the report to generate the name of the file. For example, "[Sales Rep Name] + [PayPeriod].pdf" and it should be saved in a predetermined folder.
Trying to make this code work, don't know how to filter as it prints identical all reports.
Private Sub cmdExportPDF_Click() Dim db As DAO.Database Dim rs As DAO.Recordset Dim MyPath As String MyPath = "C:Reports" If Len(Dir(MyPath, vbDirectory)) < 1 Then MkDir (MyPath)
I am having some difficulties with a Date/Time Field. I am importing a | delimted text file into a table and the Date Field is resulting in a Type Conversion Error. In the raw text file, the Date Field has the following Format (example): 01/03/2013 03:11 PM
My import Spec is as follows: File Format: Delimited Field Delimter: | Language: English
[code]....
The only thing I can think of, is that the mix of Leading Zeros in the Time AND AM/PM is causing a problem. But, I do not see a way to address this with an import spec. The odd thing is that if I import the DateOpened Field as Text, THEN change the DataType to Date/Time AFTER import, then save the table, it recognized/converts the DateOpened Fields correctly.I'd LIKE to get the import spec correct (I have to update twice daily), But, barring that, if I could import as Text then build a Macro that would:
1) import text file(s) 2) change certain fields datatypes to Date/Time 3) Save Table(s)
That would suffice. I could then use VBS (and perhaps windows scheduler) to run the macro when needed.
I have a form with Date of Death (DOD) field. I would like update DOD from a table dbo_patient into Z_Patients table.
I have set the datatype as Date/Time in the form for Date of Death.
Code: Private Sub Update_DOD() Dim rcMain As New ADODB.Recordset, rcLocalDOD As New ADODB.Recordset Dim DOD As String rcMain.Open "select distinct PatientKey from Z_Patients", CurrentProject.Connection
[Code] ....
However I am getting some error Run-time error '-2147217913 Date type mismatch in criteria expression in section below.
Code: CurrentProject.Connection.Execute "update Z_MAIN_Processed_Patients set DateOfDeath = '" & rcLocalDOD!date_of_death & "' where PatientKey = " & !PatientKey
I have the following code, which works the way I want it to when I click the button the first time. However, if I close out the excel and click the button again, it errors at the line "ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets("Ref").UnProtect", with the message "Run-time error '91', Object variable or With block variable not set". I can not figure this out, why in the world does it work the first time, but not the second???
Private Sub cmdReport_Click() Dim path As String Dim XL As Object Dim oBook As Excel.Workbook Dim pic As Excel.Shape Set XL = CreateObject("Excel.Application")
I am trying to create a txt file to import into our accounting software. I get the file (its blank), but it fails on the WriteLine and i get the run time error. I have a command button on a form that the user will click to export the file.
Private Sub cmdExport_Click() Dim cnn As New ADODB.Connection Dim rst As New ADODB.Recordset Dim strPath As String Dim strPathGB As String
I have a button which runs a list of queries that take roughly 10 seconds to run, when another user clicks the button while the other one is running it gives and error message 3405, File already in use.
I work for a company that manufactures home appliances & electronics. When those products fail within the warranty period, we are obligated to repair the units for the customers.
We have around 200 factory technicians who make those repairs. Each tech is able to make approximately 8 repairs each day. We have a dispatching system that assigns the repairs to the techs based on their availability each day. But the problem is that we have to manually enter and adjust the schedule for all 200 techs every single day, and this takes a lot of time. And of course technicians get sick, take vacation, etc, so we have to adjust the schedule so no techs will be assigned calls when they're off.
The problem: For example, currently when a technician takes off for 2 weeks, the user has to enter 14 individual records for the tech, which is somewhat time consuming. What I need is to program a button click event to determine the two dates (startDate & endDate) and append multiple records from one single entry in the form for each date in between and including the two date fields.
I know I'll probably need to create a loop that will loop through the two dates on the form and append a record for each day, so I can then cross reference the dates to the master schedule dates to make sure that no availability is opened for the techs taking time off.
So I have this relatively simple problem: I need to create a button that once clicked will open the Save As dialog box and allow the user to save a copy of the current database where he wishes. The filename should contain todays date in DDMM format along with some pre-set text e.g. DDMM PresetText.
I have a few selected reports on an Access 2007 database that users can run. Is there a way for users to view the report, save as a PDF and automatically save a copy to a shared drive by modules/vba coding as an On Click event procedure?
Hello buddies :D, do you have any idea how to make this work?
To select data that falls within this criteria of date range between cboDate and cboDate2 (fields on my form). The date in [tblJobDetails]![timeIn] come in this format "08/17/06 10:24 AM", but the cboDate/cboDate2 (takes in date only e.g 08/17/06) what i am after is to evaluate specific hard coded time in addition to the date entered, i.e. even tho, i haven't entered time on the cboDate/cboDate2, I want specific time hard coded where e.g If i select a date range of 08/17/06 and 08/18/06 on my cboDate and cboDate2 it should really be evaluating: 08/17/06 8:00 AM to 08/18/06 8:00 AM.
This is the criteria i curentlly have on my query in design view tha works perfect in selecting date only. ([tblJobDetails]![timeIn]>=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate] Or [tblJobDetails]![timeIn]>=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate] Is Null) And ([tblJobDetails]![timeIn]<=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate2] Or [tblJobDetails]![timeIn]<=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate2] Is Null) How can I incorporate 8:00am to 8:00am into my cboDate and cboDate2. What can i do to make this happen? Your kindness will be greatly appreciated http://www.naijaryders.com/forums/images/smilies/thankyou.gif
I have encountered several times, and now, that after using any "cut and paste" or "copy and paste" on VBA code in the event sub, even for a few words, Access does not allow me to exit when I answer 'Yes' to save the changes. It forces me to respond "No" to exit and re-enter any changes again without using copy or cut and paste.
This is very troublesome and error-prone in program development that the program statements cannot be moved or copies to another location of the program module.
I have over 30 TextBoxes and ComboBoxes on the form and about 20 pages of program code, using Access 2010 (same situation for Access 2013) on Windows7 PC with 4GB of RAM.
