Why Doesn't Primary Key Show Up On Datasheet View
Sep 18, 2015I have an ordinary table with 20 fields and in the design view the primary field is shown as an auto-number, but it doesn't appear in the datasheet view.

I have seen that in some sample db's rightclicking the mouse showed the menu with an option to check or uncheck the dataview option, unchecked the formview was applied, but when i 'just' import the subform, i cannot find somewhere the possibility to change from dataview to formview.
Maybe someone can help me with this, probably very simple(?), question?
A have a query that selects a multivalue field. The query forms the record source for a subform. The text values in the multivalue field are displayed in the query, but when I save this and view the data in the subform datasheet view the values revert to the primary key values. They are 1,2,3,4 instead of the text values
View 3 Replies View RelatedHello,
I am trying to find out how to view the field names for variables while in datasheet view in Access. Or, alternatively, I would like to know how to toggle between datasheet and design view for a particular variable. Basically, I have a huge database and I need to be able to find the field name for a variable that I have identified in datasheet view, but right now all I know to do is go into design view and guess which field name it is, click on it, see if the caption matches what I see in datasheet view, and keep doing this until I find the match. I did not create this database which is why I am not familiar enough to know what goes with what.
Thanks in advance!
I have a form with a query as rowsource. When I open the form in data sheet view form header is not showing(Though it is visible in form view). Is it possible to show the form header in datasheet view?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI wonder how MS Access manage to show long list of records when we want to browse them in Datasheet view.
1 - Does it load limited amount of records on start-up and then load the remainder upon user interaction (scrolling for example)?
2 - Does it care about such things automatically or natively?
I created a form in "design view" and everything is there, but when I go to "Form view" it is just blank!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to "zoom" to the underliyng data from pivot view. When in excel someone doubleclicks a field in a pivot table, it automatically creates a table containing all the lines that field were made up from. I want to achieve the same behaviour in Access.I started to think towards a VBA coda, that could be initiated from the form's double click event. It should go to datasheet view with the prpoer filter criterias.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a form which is opened with a filter from another form. For some reason it views the form in form view, although it was set up as datasheet view. I even went to the form properties and the default was datasheet and i made it not to allow other views. This still didnt solve it. I want it to be in datasheet view because i want to show multiple records at the same time.
If u kno how i could resolve this please offer ur help
thanks
I have this small problem with datasheet:
I have 2 tables. They are connected with ID (Form1.ID=Form2.fID)
Now I made a datasheet of both of them, but the ID doesn't update automatically, how do I fix this?
Currently we have a web based order taking/inventory system. Every night they export a .db to an FTP server and every morning I download it (I automated this part, it replaces the older file). I link to this database (using SQLlite3 to ODBC driver) from an Access database for specifically this purpose.
When I originally created it I had to go through every table and create a unique identifier. Unfortunately I chose poorly in some cases. I can't figure out how to get those primary keys changed to the correct ones. I've tried recreating the ODBC connection, tried a new database and new ODBC connection, tried killing the connection waiting a day (for the new .db to download) and recreating the connection and trying it in a new database.I know access doesn't allow you the change the primary key in a linked table.
Hi.
I have a subform (based on table "Source") that allows the user to create a new record in another table "Events" (it copies some entries to facilitate entering new data). The data should then be dispayed in another subform. However, the newly created redord is does not show in the subform although I use Me.Refresh. When I close the form and then open it again it works - but there has to be an easier way.
How can I reload the data from the table. I have looked but am unable to find the right method.
The code:
'Create New Record in Table Events
Call AddEvent(EventDate, Country)
'This function opens the table and adds a record
'Open Subform
DoCmd.GoToControl "subfrm_events"
DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acLast
Me.Refresh
Help would be much appreciated!
I was having trouble adding my records to my subform. I think it was going into my main form, which is unbound. When I removed the navigation bars from my main form and added them back to my subform, I lost my records that i had. They are still in my table, but not showing in my subform. How do I get them in there?
View 10 Replies View Relatedwhen you select the Data sheet View you display error messages in the Accounts Sub reports fields.
The database has been included as a reference:
Forms- Double click Accounts Form By Discipline -data sheet view
Under Current balance,Spent, and Encumbered Columns you get error message instead of the actuall totals.
Please tell me how to correct this prolsdms
Is it possible to switch the view of a subform to datasheet when a command button on the mainform is selected?
I know it is something involving acFormDS...but I cant figure out the rest of the code! I appreciate your help in advance!
(P.S. I know you can right click the form and select datasheet. Unfortunately there are not many people here that are familiar with MS Access and I dont trust that they will know this)
I am reviewing a program that in datasheet view has '+' signs in the left-hand column -- it displays rows of companies. When I select a '+' another 'sub-datasheet view' of employees of that company appears, partially covering the original datasheet view of companies.
Is this the way sub-forms look in datasheet view or is something else involved?
Thanks
In my website I've created a admin login with some ASP pages to edit and update stories.
I use an acces database and installed HTMLarea for WYSIWYG editing.
When I update text, all the HTML tags show als plain text in my website.
For example: I make a headline bold in my wysiwig editor and I update my text, it just shows: <B> here's a new story </B>
If I look in my database I have a field 'text' wich is a memofield and I can see the html tags have been stored into my database. <B>here's a new story</B>
It looks like it doesnt recognize the html tags as HTML, but just as plain text...
Can I use HTML-tags in an acces database and how do I get them to show up right in my website?
I have a split form on my database where I have my combo boxes bound to a primary key but they display the description field so it's much easier to understand. Is there a way to do this with option groups? In other words, I would like the datasheet part to display the option group labels rather than the values so it is easier to understand.

hi
i have created subforms and set the Default View to Datasheet
Now i have a form where i am adding command buttons on it to load those subforms but They are not Loading it as DATASHEET VIEW.
Any Clue?
Thanks
I have a subform that is in databsheet view. When the user logs in to the db it sets the global variable with the group level they have.
I would like a column to be hidden for a certain group of users and have tried the following.
On the subform opening event i have
if vlevel = "engineer" then
me.Hours.columnhidden = True
Else
me.Hours.columnhidden = False
End If
And i have done the same on the Main Form open event identifying the subform by Form!Subform![Hours].columnhidden = True
But neither worked.
Can any suggest something.
Can anyone tell me how to manipulate a single cell in a datasheet view, or if it is even possible?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have two Access files. One is just forms which I use as a front end app. The other is the database that I store all my tables/data/etc...
I want to run a query to display data from these tables and display it in like a datasheet view. I know how to do this if it was all the same Access file, but not how to do it with two separate files.
Thanks,

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have some tab controls, which for some reason show up white.
I have set their back style to transparent but it doesn't seem to show the grey Windows colour of the background form.
Any ideas why ?
AT the moment I'm having to put grey rectangles in various places to cover this up, which is obviously not ideal.
