I installed SQL 2005 on x64 machine and notice that my Y: drive (data drive) has these additional directories (shown below). I know those files are components of €śMicrosoft Application Error Reporting€?. They are shared among multiple applications, hence them being in €ścommon files€?. After disabling the error reporting using Microsoft SQL Server 2005->Configuration Tools->Error and Usage Reporting, can I get rid of those directories or specify which directory that it should go to? Has anyone seen this before? Thanks.
The following had been installed to the drive that we did not specify in the installation of SQL 2005. Is there any way to redirect these file back the window directory?

I've just tried to install SQL Reporting services on my development workstation.
I was going well but suddenly I got an error that my SQL server instance is not supported. I am running SQL Server 2000 desktop edition, service pack 3.0.
Is that true that is is not supported or it is just a bug in installation ?
I have tried several times to get the Reporting Services Add-In to install. It seems as if everything is going along well except when the installation gets to "Removing Backup" files it hangs and then completely uninstalls the product. Moreover, the event log simply notes "installation failed". Has anybody else encountered this? Thanks in advance for any help.
Hi. I am having trouble installing the Reporting Services Add-in for Sharepoint 2007. Installing the SharePointRS.msi file from the command line seems to work fine. It's when I run rsCustomAction.exe that the installation craps out on me. The account i'm running the install from is a local admin,farm, and site collection admin so I dont' think it's a permission issue. I have pasted the error I'm receiving and bit about my farm configuration below. If anyone could give me some help or point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. I've been doing all I could think of: reinstall the whole SQL server and its services; stop and restart SQL server service and Reporting service.
It could be my SQL version has a problem...not sure....
I could not think of anything else.

Using the Report server configuration tool, setting Report Server Virtual directory, end up with RS Configuration tool crashing.

When I open the installation, everything is fine. The report says that I do not meet the reccomended hardware requirements, but I checked and I am above the minimum requirements. This is the report:

Then the installation seems to work fine until it tries to install the native client. then it shows a message box saying: "An installation package for the product Microsoft SQL Server Native Client cannot be found. try the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package 'sqlncli.msi'." i got this error msg when installing 2005 SQL Server components only on my system:

I downloaded the SQL server 2005 trival version (180 days trival peroid) from the MS website. But i got a error saying that I have don't have enough space to extract the package on my C: drive when I do the installation. Actually I have 13g space on my c drive, so I may be miss something? I looked up the internet and found a solution using SET TEMP=C:TEMP and SET TMP=C:TEMP, but it doesn't work for me.

We deploy an application that uses SQL Server Express 2005. One of our test engineers tried to use our setup on Windows XP SP 3. But the SQL server installer gave an error - unable to update msxml6r.dll. Is this a bug of the SQL Server installer or do we need to make use of a more recent version of msxml6?
I have problem when installing SQL 2005 Enterprise to my Windows 2003 R2 cluster. I install the SQL instance on the first node in my cluster, it analyses the cluster and comes up with no errors or warnings, i answer all the installation questions and proceed with the installation. When installing the SQL engine I see the status changing as the instance is started and then stopped again etc, finally the status changes to "removing backup files" when it get an error that reports:

I seem to be unable to install this using the link provided on the blog page. I'm getting a "Same architecture installation" error. Running on the machine is Visual Studio 2012 Premium & Sql Server 2012 (64bit).
I am trying to import Access reports using Visual Studio 2005 and Access 2007. SQL Server 2005 with Reporting Services is also installed. I select Reports in the Solution Explorer and then Import Reports... Microsoft Access and browse to my Access database. After I select the database I see it open briefly as if it is trying to import the reports but then Access quickly closes and a error pops up: "You already have the database open." I have checked and double checked and the database is not open. I have even tried several different databases and the same errror occurs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
