HELP!!! Cannot Import SSIS Package Files From .dtsx Files

Brief overview...Running SQL Server 2003 Server Enterprise 64 bit - All Service Packs and patches current
SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition 64 bit Build Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.3054.00 (X64) Mar 23 2007 18:41:50 Copyright (c) 1988-2005 Microsoft Corporation Enterprise Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 5.2 (Build 3790: Service Pack 2)
I cannot import any SSIS packages nor crete any new folders under stored packages. I hve googled the news groups and looked at BOL to no avail. HELP!!!!
When you create a SSIS Project in Visual Studio and start adding many, many SSIS and several people do it, they are not being sorted when they get loaded into Visual Studio environment, unlike other objects such as web forms in ASP.NET or classes. as you can imagine, if you have about 100 of SSIS, it makes it very hard for anyone to find one SSIS to alter it.
all these packages are being stored in some xml file, right? so, my boss wants me to write a tool that will open this file and order SSIS by names to make it easier for anyone in a team. i was wondering if anyone has done something like this already, or started. any leads, comments will be appreciated.
It's very simple import, without any data modifications; from severalexcel files to one table.I tried the wisard and it gives me selection for only one file.I am not used to create DTS packages and schedule jobs, so I would needsome help.Thank youInna

I am building a ssis package that imports multiple xml files containing data into the tables using one xsd file. I am using xml source task for this. I can only import one file as the primary key constraint gets violated.
I have four tables with four primary keys. The xml file does not have the primary key column data. So every time these columns get populated as 1, 2, 3, 4.
I am preety new to xml, so was wondering if anyone can help? Why doesn't the xml file have primary key column data?
I saw this post by dterrie in the Wishlist thread and I just wanted to second it:
"How about bringing back a simple dBase import. The SSIS guys are clearly FAR out of touch with reality if they think people who handle data no longer need to work with dbf files. I've been struggling with this the last couple days and finally decided to import the dBase III file into Access and then import that into SQL Server 2005. Imagine my surprise when I discovered this was the current recommended method.
That's just ridiculous. Can someone tell me why they would reduce some of the functionality of SQL Server from 2000 to 2005? This was a very easy process in SQL Server 2000...
I have created a job that will execute a SSIS package which will unzip some zip files. For unzipping we are using WinZip. In the package I have used a .Net script task for unzipping. This script is using WZUNZIP. When I am executing the package directly it is unzipping all the zip files. But when I am executing the job that will execute the SSIS package for unzipping it is going on with the execution and not unzipping the zip files. So finally I stopped the job.
I am working on FTP TASK in SSIS Package. i have to get files from FTP that file names are like 20141110.txt. i want to download any particular date file from ftp. How to i set expression in Remote path?
We have a scenario to process last created/modified files from a location using SSIS package , eventhough the folder contains multiple files with same name and extension.

S: Running SQL Server Express V: Running SSIS package in VS.Net F: Shared folder host excel files
And an openrowset SQL statement: select * from openrowset(..... \Fexcel.xls....). This statement can be run in SS management studio connecting to S using my Windows logon(integration security) without any problem.
However, the same SQL running inside SSIS package (integration security using my Windows account) get the following error:

Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.
(My Windows account is administrator of Windows and sysadmin or SQL Sever Express on S)
I've made a query like the one in msdn (SELECT * FROM __InstanceCreationEvent WITHIN 10 WHERE Targetinstance ISA "CIM_DirectoryContainsFile" and TargetInstance.GroupComponent= "Win32_Directory.Name="e:\\temp""). I have 20 similar tasks for watching in different folders, but when there are too much tasks in parallel, it doesn't work anymore. I change the numbers of executables to 128 (in the general properties of the package (to test)) but it doesn't seems to work.
I don't understand why it works when there are only 1 or 2 (6 seems to be the maximum) tasks and not if there are more than 6.
Could you help me with this issue?

I have a SQL2000 DTS package that executes vbscript to loop through a recordset which:
- runs a stored procedure and populated tables
- builds a recordset from the populated tables to write records to an Excel file
- writes status to text files with either the error or success notices
I use FSO to set up the success and error files, but the scheduled job in SQL2005 which calls the SSIS package returns the following error:
"Retrieving the file name for a component failed with error code 0x0015F74C"
I can successullly run this (vbscript) in both the SSIS package via the BI Development Studio and in MS Access (exactly the same code in both) - but not as a SSIS package called in a scheduled job in SQL2005.
I am at an impasse with this ... any and ALL assistance would be GREATLY appreciated.
We have several hundred very simple ETL SSIS 2K8 package files (*.dtsx).
I'd like to be able to interrogate them to determine source and destination fields.
There's no great need to map source to dest or to extract data types.
So far, the most promising candidate is to load them using OPENROWSET into an XML field in a SS table.No problem there, but querying using OPENXML has me stumped.
The package files will change a couple of times per year, so the process needs to be repeatable with minimal manual intervention.
I'm currently experiencing major problems with SSIS when opening and editing large .DTSX package files that contain Exec DTS 2000 Tasks which have the package data loaded internally. I have no issues if I point the task to a .DTS file, or to an actual DTS package on a SQL 2000 server - but if I load the package internally then once the underlying .DTSX file gets over around 17MB or so in size (which doesnt take long making a few edits to even fairly simple packages now and then), I start to experience major issues with VS/BIDS 2005 crashing randomly when I try to perform any action with the package (open, save etc). Things like OutOfMemory exception errors, followed by the properties of Exec DTS 2000 task being deleted, and also sometimes accompanied by messages about the application not being installed properly.
Again its ONLY when the underlying .DTSX file reaches a certain size limit, and only when I've got an Exec DTS 2000 task with the package loaded internally. I've replicated the issue using several different package files on several different machines (even on servers with lots of memory, fwiw).
Can anyone out there help me with this? SSIS - namely SSIS Exec DTS 2000 package tasks - are our lifeblood at my company and this trend of random and serious crashing on large package files is very disturbing to say the least.
I have a SSIS package which reads an excel file and loads data into a table using script component(C#) as a source. The package runs without any errors when I manually run it on my machine and on the server. But the package fails when run as a SQL Server Agent job.
I tried all the possible fixes I found on the web but still can't get it to work.
I have a requirement where in i have around 15 different flat files , filenames are fixed but folder path can be changed(i think i should use a variable for folder path). These 15 files data should go to their respective tables in the database.
Whether I need to create separate data flow task for each file or separate package? In addition to these, example : while importing product data into product table, if product ID already exists, we need to ignore it and upload only the new records.
when i start SQL Server business intelligence developer and create new Integration Service project, i will see following error:

this error occures just on my PC and i reinstalled VS2005 and SQL2005 again and unfotunately the problem existes.

I have a SSIS package that I want users to be able to execute by clicking a button on an a web page. The package does not require any parameters to be passed to it. Previously I've executed DTS packages without any problems but after a fair bit of investigation and trawling the net I've not found a way to do this successfully with SSIS. I have developed a SQL Server 2005 Integration Services (SSIS) package that includes a Script Task on a 32-bit machine. The PrecompileScriptIntoBinaryCode property is set to True. After I build the package, the .dtsx file includes a <BinaryItem> element for that Task. Package runs fine on the dev machine, both in BIDS and as SQL Server Agent job. When I deploy the package to a 64-bit server, it runs fine when I execute the package ad hoc from SQL Server Management Studio. However, when I schedule the package for execution as a SQL Server Agent job, the package fails with the message: "the script files failed to load." I have reviewed posts on this error from late 2005, but the solutions don't work in this case. Specifically: 1. The Precompile property is already set to True. 2. I have already verified that the script was compiled. Any further suggestions?
I have a dtsx package that is calling another dtsx package, however, if the called upon dtsx package fails with errors or what not, then the calling package does not continue as well. Is there any way to override this such that if the called upon package fails, the downstream actions in that package can stop, but the calling packages downstream actions to continue?

I've been doing this manually :( however, is there anyway I can do this task automactically so that once new daily CSV file ~200KB appear in the folder, progarm automatically insert recent file to SQL database...:) Do I need to write VB progarm for this? Now I would like to create a SSIS package that takes the xml files from the network and uses this SP. Should I have a file system task inside a for loop container? I'm new to SQL server. I would like to ask how to do the following. Now I have many CSV files in a directory, which are uploaded through ftp from my client computers daily. How can I automatically import those CSV files to the SQL server? Can I do it by a script or a stored procedure or something else?

I have 8GB of text files which are basically log files from the past few years. There is 24 text files per directory which are labeled for every day (so they are not all in 1 folder). It would make reading them much easier if I could import them to SQL but I only seem to be able to import 1 at a time? (with the wizards :eek: )
