In access database project where my tables are linked from MSSQL server, how can I add record from the FORM itself using command button. Bcz it is not like mdb files in access that you can just drag a command button onto the form and take an action like add, delete, print or find rec. I'm new to asp.net and I have gotten quite far with books and such but I'm stuck at this point. I have a web form that is mostly populated with data pulled from AD and all the user does is make a selection in two drop lists and enter their initials to sign. hello it seems lack of c# skills is getting the better of me here...iv been trying to get this to work for hours now without success. i am using a OLE DB Source in my dataflow component and want to select rows from the source based on the Name I enter during execution time. I have created two variables,

Sorry for the less then descriptive post title but I didn't find a better way to describe it. I'm developing an app in the express editions of VB and SQLserver. The application is a task/resource scheduler. The main form will have a datepicker or weekly overview and show all tasks scheduled per day. The problem is, I've got one or more people assigned to tasks and I wonder what's the best way to design this. Personally, I'd go for one Task table, a People table and a table that provides a link between them (several record per task, one for each person assigned linking TaskID and PplID). However, I don't see a nice way of showing this data to the end user, allowing him to edit/add etc on ONE screen.
To fix that the only way I see is just add columns to the Task table for every person with select boxes. This way everything can be done on one simple screen. This obviously does present some future issues.
On top of this, which people are available on a day varies and there should be an option to allow a user to set who is available on a specific day. Which would lead me to my first idea and add another table that would provide this. but then I'm having design issues again for the form.
I'm kinda stuck atm, can anyone shed some light on this. I'm sure there is an elegant way of doing this but I'm failing at finding it.
We're running a Sage CRM install with a SQL Server 2000 database at the back end. We're using the Sage web services API for updating data and a JDBC connection to retrieve data as it's so much quicker.
If I retrieve a record using the JDBC connection and then try and update the same record through the web services, the query times out as if the record is locked for updates. Has anyone experienced anything similar or know what I'm doing wrong? If I just use DriverManager.getConnection() to establish the connection instead of the datasource, and then continue with the same code I don't get these record locking problems. Please find more details below.

The JDBC provider for the datasource is a WebSphere embedded ConnectJDBC for SQL Server DataSource, using an implementation type of 'connection pool datasource'. We are using a container managed J2C authentication alias for logging on.
This is running on a Websphere Application Server v6.1.

At the moment I have it so that it it takes the current information and adds it to the archive table adding an archive date. The thing that I am struggling with is incrementing the version number. Hello. When I'm useing a report in reportViewer I have a "back button" in the the viewer which let me go back to my parent report after jumping to another report.
I wanted to make a bigger button like that on the report so I tried to simulate it by creating my own textback and use a javascript to go back one page.
This doesn't work since the javascript doesn't work as well as the built in bottun. Is there a way to simulate this button any way?

In Reporting Services,Putting the Radio button is not possible,i think,If possible how to achive this.
Other workaround is i think Multivalued parameter which displays the Age and Age ranges
When we click on Age we need to display 2 textboxes
When we select Age Ranges we have to display Drop down list
If we select both :both 2 text boxes and drop down list.
Putting multi valued parameters for this requirement is not good and this is not the multi valued parameter concept.Please clarify me whether iam correct or not.

If I indicate that the report is a "Server Report" instead a local report the Print Report appear, but a need a "Local Report" not a "Server Report" How can i solve that.
I wanted to add a search button to my report where by it would only be visible after the report was run by the user and then the user could search on a particular field(Called Synopsis) for a value, ex QREF12345. I don't want the user to enter QREF, just the number. How could this be coded?? Also, are there any good sites available with code snippetts available?
But when I click the button....the validation-controls executes before...so instead for "clearing" the page (reload it without postback) the validation-messages shows that I have forgott to write in som textboxes....
I am trying to get MSSQL Reporting Services working. I have used it before, but now I have the opportunity to get the software entrenched in my organization. I installed the app and it opens up, but when I try to create a new folder the software will not allow the OK choice. I can cancel, but I need to choose OK.
Can anyone advise me as to how I can add the date and time to 2 columns in the sql server database for each record that is added. I'd prefer not to use the webform. Can sql server add the date automatically to the row? thanks

We are inserting a bulk information of data, it should not insert the row if it already exist in the table. excluding that it should insert the other rows.

Some of these member ids are duplicated in the table, and eachrecord is tagged with a 1 or a 2 in [recsrc] to indicate where theycame from.I want to remove all member ids records from the table that have arecsrc of 1 where the same member id also exists in the table with arecsrc of 2.So, if the member id has a recsrc of 1, and no other record exists inthe table with the same member id and a recsrc of 2, I want it leftuntouched.So, in a theortetical dataset of member id and recsrc:0001, 10002, 20001, 20003, 10004, 2I am looking to only delete the first record, because it has a recsrcof 1 and there is another record in the table with the same member idand a recsrc of 2.I'd very much appreciate it if someone could help me achieve this!Much warmth,Murray

Hi, I have this Gridview in which I show attendees to a course (per course) In the same gridview I want to be able (by clicking a button) to show all attendees to all courses simply by leaving out a part of the SQL; WHERE Eventid = @eventid (resulting in all attendees no matter what course) In other words how can I alter the selectcommand of the SQLDataSource? Hi My webpage contain three dropdown box and one button. One dropdown to choose hospital_id, second dropdown to choose project_id and third dropdown to choose version_no .After choosing these three and when the button is clicked i want to run this sql query INSERT INTO version(project_id,hospital_id,date_created,comments) SELECT project_id,hospital_id,date_created,comments FROM version where version_no=@version_no and project_id=@project_id and hospital_id=@hospital_id. Just i need the code in asp.net 2.0 , VB , when the button is clicked the above query should run and the parameters (values) should take from dropdown box. Could anyone please send the solution for the above problem.
