How To Troubleshoot/correct An Excel Destination - Opening A Rowset For &&<sheetname) Failed Error?

I have 2 Excel sheets ( Sheet1 and Summary) in an excel output file.
Sheet1 is created and loaded with data fine.
Summary sheet is getting the following error:
Error: 0xC0202009 at Write Counts and Percentages to Summary Sheet, Excel Destination [337]: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E37.
Error: 0xC02020E8 at Write Counts and Percentages to Summary Sheet, Excel Destination [337]: Opening a rowset for "Summary" failed. Check that the object exists in the database.
I do have an execute SQL task to create the summary sheet before the data flow task.
The execute SQL task has

Please advise on what I can do to troubleshoot/correct the error. Thanks

Hello, I am trying to create a simple package programmatically. I am following the examples in the BOL, and from some advice here. I am getting stuck at creating an Excel Destination and setting its sheetname. Everything works fine, including setting the output Excel filename. I get a runtime exception when I try to set the sheetname via SetComponentProperty. Is there another way, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any info you may have.

I have a SSIS package where im importing data from MS access database file .MDB. I chose Microsoft JET 4.0 OLEDB provider. When i select a table and preview the data, im getting the below error.

Hello everyone. I'm very new to asp.net. I've been coding in vb.net for a while now (getting my associates degree in desktop application programming) and my boss wants all of my new applications to be web based now. Well, i decided to take some initiative on this and begin a new project for my department. This is a very small project. So far, everything is coming along alright (i found an eBook that's helped me quite a bit). Everything was cool until yesterday when i tried to connect to our sql server database. I access a DB by as abvious creating a DB Connection and then sending a querry to it. Finally creating an SQL Command and then exuting it.
But the thng is I am using a static function:
which opens a new connection and returns a data reader based on the querry. i.e

Arent these connections and instances Managed (auto garabage collection)?? Can memory leaks under such a situation occur.

I'm trying to create a simple Data transfermation. I have a flat file that came of a unix server.. it's 177 bytes wide.. thought it was 175, but when I created the flat file connector, I could see some extra characters on the end.
My output is going to be an excel spreadsheet, I only want two columns from the input. I created an oledb jet 4.0 connection. and followed instructions from here :

to create my datafow.
On my first attempt to dataflow, I ran into unicode errors and had to do this:
ran into a problem with unicode errors. went to the source for the flat file. for the output column in question changed to Unicode string [DT_WSTR].
When I run , here are the errors I get:

In OLEDB Destination, AccessMode as OpenRowset Using FastLoad raises the following error:
"Failed to open a fastload rowset db_object. Check that the object exists in the database"
db_object exists in the database. Is there any key point for the table or view used for fastload?

I'm developing a SSIS package and am coming across this problem:
"Error at myTable [DTS.Pipeline]: component 'OLE DB Destination' (156) failed validation and returned error code 0xC020801C.
Here's the situation with my package. It basically consists of a bunch of tasks to build a database and populate the tables from an Excel file.
The first task runs a SQL file to create all my DB tables, etc. The next set of tasks import data from the Excel file into the tables. All tasks have precedence constraints so that the SQL file will build the DB tables first.
Here's the problem. Everything works perfectly if my database ALREADY exists. The problem comes when the database does not exist. It seems like the SSIS does some sort of schema validation on my dataflow tasks to ensure that everything is ok.
Is there any way to bypass this validation so that my SSIS will run ok without the DB already existing? I know that everything WILL be ok because the ExecuteSQL task will create the structure for me.
I used to work with SQL 2000 DTS, and i never ran into this problem before. Previously, i could run the DTS no problem, however, i just couldn't open the transformations if the DB didn't exist.

ts my first time trying to set up a SSIS job using the import/export wizard to export the results of a query into an excel file.
i am using sql server 2005, windows XP SP2.
In the last step in the excel destination editor, in the connection manager when i am trying to select the excel file to write into i am getting this error.
'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 ' provider is not registered on the local machine.
I have set up the excel connection manager. i have changed the properties of the project to set
the Run64BitRuntime to false.
i am running the latest version of MDAC 2.8 on the machine too
please let me know if there is anything else i need to do to fix this.

I'm trying to export data to an Excel destination. I'm receving the following error on a notes column which is an nvarchar(max) datatype.
Error: 0xC0202025 at Data Flow Task, Excel Destination [124]: Cannot create an OLE DB accessor. Verify that the column metadata is valid.
I realize that the charcater limit on an Excel cell is 32, 767 characters, but none of the test data that I'm using is close to that. I've also tried using ntext and receive the same error. When I change the datatype to nvarchar(4000), it works fine. I've also changed the destination to a flat file using nvarchar(max) and I don't receive the error. Unfortunately, our vendor specifies that they have to have an Excel file. Does anyone know what is causing this error, if it's a bug, or have any suggestions?

In my SSIS project I am populating an Excel spreadsheet with several worksheets. When I define a worksheet in Excel Destination Editor, I use Create Table SQL statement to create a worksheet. Most of the fields are defined as numbers, however when job runs my numeric fields appear as text in Excel with yellow warning sign - 'The number in this cell is formatted as text or preceeded by an apostrophe'. I need my numbers to appear as numbers. Is there a workaround for this?

I am inserting rows using OLEDBDestination and want to redirect all error rows to EXCEL Destination.
I have used Data Conversion Transformation to Convert all strings to Unicode string fields before sending it to Excel Destination.
But its gives the following error.
[Data Conversion [16]] Error: Data conversion failed while converting column 'A' (53) to column "Copy of A" (95). The conversion returned status value 8 and status text "DBSTATUS_UNAVAILABLE".
[Data Conversion [16]] Error: The "output column "Copy of A" (95)" failed because error code 0xC020908E occurred, and the error row disposition on "output column "Copy of A" (95)" specifies failure on error. An error occurred on the specified object of the specified component.
Can someone please tell me what should I do to make it work?

I have created a package which transfers data from a SQL server source to an Excel Destination. The DataFlow Task works fine , if i pre-define the column names in the Excel Destination... But i run into an error when i give the blank excel sheet as my destination. I am unable to map any columns
A sample example is as shown above .. In the column mappings field only one column in the Excel shows up for mapping and eventually throws the error "[Excel Destination [42]] Error: The number of columns is incorrect. "
How do we proceed in this case , where in we do not want to give pre-defined coulmn names in the Excel Destination sheet.

i have an SSIS package that exports to an excel file. This works fine. the problem is that it appends the data instead of overwriting the file. Is there any way to overwrite the file like you can with a flat file? I have to email the file everyweek and don't want to have to clear it out manually. Any help would be appreciated

Pointed to excel connection manager. Under data access mode, I have select table and view. When I try to select name of excel sheet, it says, no tables or views could be loaded. I should be able to see sheetname there so that I can map column. I only have option to create new spreadsheet. I want to use template to load data in excel file. I dont want to create new sheet. It was working before. But I opened the ssis package and its broken. I was able to see spreadsheet name before but I dont see it now even though I have not made any change to package. I am using a proc that runs fine in SSMS Query editor and also produces rows when I click the Preview button in the OLEDB Source Adapter. It has two input parameters. The proc contains some CTE's and UNION ALL's. It does not contain any dynamic sql. However, when I run the package I get this error:

How can that be when the Preview shows rows being returned?

I am getting the following error when I execute my sql task:
An error occurred while assigning a value to variable "NullVar": " NO result rowset is associated with the execution of this query. "
I am executing a SP that has one input & one output parameter. The output parameter is returning a single row for debugging if the sp failes.
I tried using Jamie's method:(http://blogs.conchango.com/jamiethomson/archive/2005/12/09/2480.aspx) to get it to work but keep getting the above error. I have the following variables:
sqlSource (string) := Exec RBCprcsInsertWmsInvTransactionRecords '" + (DT_WSTR,10 ) @[User::SnapShotDate] + "', NULL"
NullVar (string)
In the execute sql task, I set the ResultSet to single row. I set SQLSourceType = variable & sourcevariable = user::SqlSource. In the result tab, I added a result set, NewResultName with the variable user::NullVar. I tried different configurations with the parameter mappings but nothing seemed to work. I didn't know if i still had to use this if I am using the sqlSource variable to drive the task.
So I am not sure what I am missing here. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have a dataflow task. On which I have OLEDB as my source. I connect to my database and execute a stored proc. the stored proc results in a result set with only one row and two columns. First Column is an integer and the second row is a varchar(max) with xml script in it. Not that it should matter because it is in varchar(max).
Anyway, it give me an error
[OLE DB Source [321]] Error: A rowset based on the SQL command was not returned by the OLE DB provider.
What am I doing wrong?
Can I not have a stroed proc that returns a result set as my data source?

I have an excel sheet that has a bunch of columns. Some of these columns have static data but there are a few of the columns that retrieve data by making calls to servers and returning values that populate these columns. Usually about 30 mins before the columns are populated.
I then need to to load the excel sheet into a table.
I was wondering if there was anyway by which we can make the connection to the excel sheet and then force a delay of about 30 mins before it starts retriving the data?
Is this possible in ssis? Or can I achieve it by some other means?

I am working on SQL Server 2005 (x64) with Windows Server 2003 (x64) operating system. I am having a major issue in SSIS. Here is the detailed explanation of the issue :
I have an EXCEL file in 2003 / 2007 version. It contains some data. I want to import the data using SSIS into SQL Server 2005 (x64) database table. I have taken "EXCEL FILE SOURCE" and "SQL Server DESTINATION". It was failed on importing data. Surprisingly it works fine in SQL Server 2005 (x32). Can you please explain why it is NOT woking on (x64) ?
Here is the error code i am getting:

I have reinstalled Office 2007 (to changre the license key)
after this, the data mining excel add-in failed to load.
the "COM add-ins" displays: "not loaded. a runtime error occurred during the loading"
reinstalling the add-in doesn't solve the problem
installing the 2008 version don't solve the issue too.
There is no other information, what can I do to solve the issue?

I recently installed SQL Server 2005 Enterprise on a machine running Server 2003. I have successfully configured Reporting Services (see below for summary of settings)
- Used the defaults for the Repor tServer and Report Manager Virtual Directories
