Would any body be able to suggest the best way switch a Lotus .nsf file to Ms SQL database or even to an Access?
I have a .nsh file that I am able to see the contents of but not the database structure, and rather then rebuilding the database and manually inserting the content I would like to import all the information from an old .nsf file that appears to have restriction on it.

Greetings, I have just arrived back into the country (NZ) and back into ASP.NET.
I am having trouble with the following:An attempt to attach an auto-named database for file (file location).../Database.mdf failed. A database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share.
It has only begun since i decided i wanted to use IIS, I realise VWD comes with its own localhost, but since it is only temporary, i wanted a permanent shortcut on my desktop to link to my intranet page.
Anyone have any ideas why i am getting the above error? have searched many places on the internet and not getting any closer.

Hi.. When I go to my MSSQL 2000 database-->
properties-->Databse size is 1500MG and the space
available is 305MB
But I don't understand how space available come from.
As I had put my Database file and Transaction log file
as unrestricted file grow. And put automatically file
grow by 10% for both file and log
Why is the limit come from ?
Besides, I have a database which indicate space
available as 0M in the database properties but it is
still functioning. why?
How to convert a database in MSSQL 2000 to MSSQL 2005 database.Is there any tool or documentation available for this?

- Customer played with his logical drives in a CPQ smart array
- He played too much: he lost the drive with the LDF-File
- Now the SQL-Server is in a kind of wired mode; you can
start and stop it, but you cannot connect to (neiter 'sa' nor
any other user available before)
In fact the mode is not wired: what shall he do other when
most important file is missing... :o
- The problem for me now is:
> How can I get the Enterprise Manager or Query Analyzer
up and running again to start a restore?
PS: The restore is to be done from a tape-library running
Veritas Backup Exec + SQL-Agent
PPS: Error-log says (what I already know):
2005-10-04 17:18:02.69 spid11 Device activation error. The physical file name 'H:DEVLOG1DEVLOG1.ldf' may be incorrect.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having a few issues trying to get a linked server setup from a new SQL2012 installation to a Lotus Notes database. This linked server has previously been working fine on our old SQL2005 environment. All setup using the same details (ODBC driver name matches, account details etc). If we test the connection from the Lotus ODBC driver the test connection is successful, If I then create the Linked server to access this ODBC driver I receive an error :

We have a 64 bit Lotus client installed to provide the correct ODBC driver which has enabled the test connection direct from the ODBC driver to connect successfully. I'm just at a loss as to how to resolve this issue and get the linked server connecting.
Any advice on how to achieve the above, if possible, would be greatly appreciated.

I am new to ms SQL. I only have the use of the Enterprise Manager.
Creating tables I understand. However I am confused on how to add data to
a table or view the data in a table. Can this be done through Enterprise Manager? If I am adding a large amount of data do I have to use the query window. This seems like a tedious method. In Access yo have a form basically pop up where you can type in the record sets. Any advice would be appreciated! Sincerely,

I checked my server forum and they said I had to name a database:
Example: Database=(unique name);
But this didn't work either.

I have been working on this problem for over 2 weeks - HELP!
I had to to relocate the database log file and I issued an Alter database command but by mistake I put a space in the file name as below. The space is at the beginning file name. Now I am unable get the database loaded to SQL Server. The database has 2 replications configured, so deleting and re-attaching the database means the replication needs to be re-configured. Is there an alternative way to issue a command to update the database FILENAME ? Not sure if this can be edited in master database (sys files).
ALTER DATABASE [User_DB]
MODIFY FILE (NAME = User_DB_log, FILENAME = 'I:SQLLogs User_DB_log.ldf')

I downloaded and ran AdventureWorks.msi into my SQL Server Management Studio Express (SSMSE) one year ago.But I did not know how to attach it to my SSMSE then. Last week, I deleted it from the "Add or Remove" of Control Panel and I downloaded the new AdventureWork.msi and installed it my SSMSE. Today, I tried to use the Database Explorer of VB 2005 Express for the first Stored Procedure programming. I clicked on AdventureWorks.mdf and I got the following error: One or more files do not match the primary of the database. If you are attempting to attach a database, retry the operation with the correct files. If this is an existing database, the file may be corrupt and should be restored from a backup. Cannot open user default database. Login failed. Login failed for user 'CENADe1enxshc'. Log file 'C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.1MSSQLDataAdventureWorks_Data_log.ldf' does not match the primary file. It may be from a different database of the log may have been rebuilt previously. Please help and advise me how to correct this problem.

Last week I backed up my SQL Server by using BE 2012. I named the file "SQL Server BAK" which contained copies of my SQL Server databases. A few days ago I lost some part of my data due to accidental deletion. I backed it up, so I tried to restore the database from the .bkf file. I am developing a smart device application with Visual Studio .Net 2005 and SQL Server Compact Edition database. And also using merge replication to synchronize the data from the mobile device to the SQL Server.
My database size is around 350MB. So when I am trying to synchronize this is the error message that I get.
" The database file is larger than the configured maximum database size. The setting takes effect on the first concurrent database connection only.[Required Max Database size ( in MB; 0 if unknown)=129].
I tried changing the Max database size in the connection string and my connection string looks as follows and still did not have any luck.
connstr= "Data Source=Storage CardItems.sdf;Max Database Size=500;"

I am very new to asp.net. I really mainly use PHP but want to migrate to asp.net, but it doesn't seem that easy.I am creating a page for peson to pay a subscription page where they will enter personal information an credit card information.I created the form for this with validation controls.I don't know however how to write the form data to the mssql database.I am using mssql 2005, but i would need a work out for the 2000 version as well.

We have set up an user acceptance server with a database that is the same as production. However, I have been told that this database and server may be used for applying fixes rather than user acceptance.

I've made af site in Visual Web Developer. On that site i've made a database and it worked finde when I first uploaded it to my FTP as a database file on the server.
