Passing Multi-Value Parameters To A Data Driven Subscription

I've been asked to set up a data driven subscription for a number of reports which use multi value parameters. For example, show me all transactions against the following departments: IT, Building Services, Accounts.
As an interactive report it's simple, the user just selects the relevant departments, but as a data driven subscription I can't seem to find the correct format to pass the selections through.
Has anyone tried this before?

How To Pass Multi-value Parameters To DDS (data Driven Subscription)?
Jun 29, 2006Using RS2005, how should multivalue parameters be stored in a database field so that a data driven subscription can properly read and use them? I have so far had no luck using syntax of:
1) parm1, parm2
2) parm1,parm2
Do single qutoes need to explicitly wrap the values? Can you please provide an example and a SQL INSERT statement using parm1 and parm2 to demonstrate what to store in the database field?

Jan 23, 2008I have created couple report through report builder which using AS cube as the data source. Every time when I try to access the New Subscription from the web UI. It complains about "Subscriptions cannot be created because the cedentals used to run the report are not stored, or if a linked report, the link is no longer valid.".
So I went into "Properties" -> "Data Source" and use the custom data source. I've selected "Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services" and put in the following Data Source=SQLTEST;Initial Catalog="Data Warehouse AS". I've select "Crednetials stored securely in the report server", using my Windows login and password.. and I've got the following error.

An error has occurred during report processing.
Query execution failed for data set 'dataSet'.
The SemanticQuery element at line 7, column 351 (namespace http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/2004/10/semanticmodeling) cannot appear under Envelope/Body/Execute/Command. "

Multi-value Parameter In Master Report Passing To Single Param Sub-report In A List.
Aug 20, 2007Here's tricky one.
I have a fairly complex report that was given to me that was hard coded for single parameters. There is a dropdown for each market (created from a query in SSRS). The users have to run for each market each week.
Is there a way to use this report as a Sub-report inside a list of a master report and then use a mult-value parameter?
I want this multi-value parameter to build the values for the list and then run the "sub-report" for each value.
Essentially, I want to create a for each loop.
Any ideas?

Currently there are std global variables i.e. @ReportName was executed at @ExecutionTime, but what other variables can be passed here to make it more relevant to the recipient?

Here variable gdept is the report parameter. I am passing the value.
it works fine with single value.
( the source of gdept is a another dataset to list the deparment code+name,

when I preview, i have a combo box to select the department.
If I choose one deparment, it works fine.
If I choose more than one department or select all I have error message
"substring function requires 3 aruguments."
what is wrong is the query

When the report server tried to process the report I have the following messagge:

Report Subscription
Apr 29, 2008I created a report based on an OLAP cube in the report designer using SSRS 2005. One of the dimension in the cube contains of the name and email address. I want to set up the subscription to this report so that it will send out the report to the subsciber's email address in a pre-set schedule. How do I assign the "Name", "Email" and "Parameter" in the subscription page so that it will loop through each name to send out the report rather than to set up multiple subscriptions if there are 500 names in the dimension. Also the information contains in the report is strictly to that subscriber only i.e. "Name" of the subscriber will be used as a parameter in the subscription to the report. Thanks.

We use a remote email host provider(smtp). Please help I have tried everything.. We are using sql 2005 server with windows pro.

Report Subscription Setup?

I am trying to create a report subscription on my test sql server (2005). I noticed that the "New Subscription" and "New data driven subscription" options are disabled in SSMS. "Delete all subscriptions" is the only enabled option. I do have the sql server agent running. What else must I do to enable these options?

How To Run A Report Subscription Manually?
Mar 13, 2008I have a report scheduled for email delivery at a certain time of the day. Is there a way I can execute the subscription ON DEMAND so that when ever I execute it, the report is processed and emailed? Is there a way to run the subscription from a batch file/ssis/tsql etc?

Trying To Setup A Subscription For A Report

I am trying to setup a subscription for a report that I developed in SSRS (reportbuilder). The report is accessible via the intranet.
I want the server to create the report as an Excel or CSV file on a shared directory called \cdbd$ mpMarcsub
It seems easy: there is a tab "subscriptions" in the report. I configure the schedule, etc... but when the report is supposed to run, I have an error message:

There's no SSRS administrator in the house. Can someone help me where to find this SSRS log file and eventually point me to a number of possible problems ? Could this simply be a login/pwd problem ? the subscription scheduler interface asks me for a login and pwd. What login and pwd must I provide ? The one of the server itself ? The SQL Server 2005 login/pwd ?
Tough... for me but certainly easy cake for you guys.

How To Not Send Subscription Report If No Data
Oct 6, 2005I have a report that may or may not have data. I have a subscription setup for this report. The subscription has a defined To list. I would like to NOT send the report if there is no data on the report. I did this in SQL 2000 by raising an error from the stored procedure if there was no data. However, that approach does not seem to work with 2005. Is there another way to accomplish this?

i am trying to subscribe to a report that has dependant parameters, for example Country->City and Year-> Month.
Those values are coming from a Analysis Services cube dimensions.
when i come to it in the subscription window, some of the parameters are populated and some are not.
I cannot detect a pattern.
Does anyone know what can be the problem?

Report Subscription Only Works 80% Of The Time.

I have setup report subcription with stored credential using a valid domain account and "Use as Window Credentials..." checked. Everything tested fine and works properly when the report is viewed in a web application. The problem is this report renders fine in the browser 80% of the time and occasionally it gives me Logon failure error:
An error has occurred during report processing (rsProcessingAborted)
Cannot impersonate user for data source 'Pinnacle'. (rsErrorImpersonatingUser)
Logon failed. (rsLoginFailed)
Logon failed: unknown user name or bad password. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007052E)
Since the report is working 80% of the time and the user domain account hasn't changed. I am confused why I am getting bad user account error. Please help!

Aug 23, 2007I cant imagine this to be possible, but I currently have a report setup and a subscription that email the report to some users, I was curious to know if possible that if the report returns no records to not have the report sent?

Passing A Parameter To The Filename In A Report Subscription
Jan 18, 2007I have defined a monthly substription for a series of reports. I would like to be able to pass a paremter used in generating the report to the file name define in the subscription.
I can do it if I used system names such as @datetime, but I want to be able to use a parameter unique to the report.
For example if the parameter for the report was CARS and I was quesrying Toyotas how can I get toyoats to show up in the file name?
Any suggestions?
Images On HTML Report Subscription Missing
Nov 27, 2007We've been struggling for 2 days to try and figure this out. We create a report with images, both in gif and jpg, and then setup a subscription. When the report is generated in both 5.0 and all browser format, no images appear, just the red cross. Funny thing is that in Firefow the same htm document renders OK. We tried setting the configuration table row UseSessionCookies to False as posted by others but this did not work. It seems so simple it's silly. What are we doing wrong? The image is set to embedded. Also the charts are not showing either.
Any help is MOST appreciated!!
BTW, in pdf and mhtml the images are fine
We do not have and _ in the the server name and we have SP2 also installed on a W2K3 server
URL Link In Subscription Email Does Not Render Report
Apr 25, 2008I have set up a test subscription that sends an email that includes both the report and the url link to the report. However, the report does not render when user clicks on url link in subscription email. The parameter toolbar sorta appears at top of page but buttons are not showing correcty. I saw similiar issue posted in another forum but no one had resolved yet. We all noticed that the subscription email uses /reportserver folder instead of /Reports folder.
The report does appear fine in the email so I believe the problem is the URL.
Can anyone tell me how to resolve?

Adding Date To Filename In Report Subscription
Apr 26, 2007My company sends reports on a daily basis to our customers. Now I want to save all the sent reports on disc with the date in the filename. I have set up a subscription which daily saves the files where I want them. However, I haven't found a way to add the date easily. I already have a parameter when creating the report, it is called Date. Does anybody know if I can use a parameter or something else?

Is it possible to have a data-driven subscription over a report containing sub-reports? I have been trying but without sucess...
I was unable to create the data-driven over the report... only over a linked report to that same report, but even that way when i execute the subscription i get error...
If i create a the data-driven subs to every single sub-report it works fine! So why can't i create the data-driven over the report with those sub-reports? What can be causing the problem?
