I can use and access MDS using Excel, but when I try to open the web page, the get an error as Access restricted. MDS has been working fine till now and suddenly this error message appears
I created a new database called "TestReportServer" as mentioned in the installation instruction but I didn't see (or could select) the option "Create the report server database in SharePoint integrated mode". How can I select this option? Do I need to remove the reporing services and reinstall it again? Any suggestions?
After creating the database I get the error 'Some or all identity references could not be translated'.
The user I selected is a local administrator and has permission to all groups starting with wss.
I guess the database is not created as a sharepoint integration mode as I can start Server Management Studio and see the database. Is that a correct assumption?
I hope somebody out there can help as I am strating to bang my head towards my desk right now :-)
UPDATE #2: When it said "Do you want to install Microsoft SQL Server" I said "yes" and that caused it to work. I exited and re-ran and now the print runs w/o the "install SQL Server" (If the prompt had said "Do you want to install the print dialog" we wouldn't be having this discussion...)
UPDATE: After posting this i discovered that the same thing occurs when attempting to print the report direct from IE6: First a dialog pops up "Do you want to install this software?" Name: Microsoft SQL Server. When I click "Don't Install" I get the dialog "unable to load client print control." Since this happens direct from IE6 I suspect it's browser settings. I'll resume tomorrow and post a followup.
My WinForm C# app integrates Reporting Services by calling them from WebBrowser controls. The problem is attempts to print cause a dialog: "unable to load client print control."
I've read prior posts that say "enable Active-X in your browser" - I don't know how to do that from a WebBrowser control.
Any ideas how to support Reporting Services "Print" from within a WebBrowser control?
I am trying to use a reportviewer control (processing mode = remote) to view a rdl that is hosted on a server running MOSS, the reporting services are run in "sharepoint integrated mode". When i try to set the path to the RDL on the control like i usually do for an ASP.NET ReportViewer control, i get the error message posted below. I cant find anything on google, Please HELP
Hi all, I am having problem with table control I added one table control to my report designer. How can i get horizontal and vertical lines to my table. Regards.
i was able to get everything except last column. i am using Matrix control. can any one help me how to another column after sub total in matrix control.
I am trying to print only the grand total raw. The grand total is based on the information in the groups and therefore I cannot hide the groups.
Instead I am trying to minimize the size of the group raw by sizing font, shrink, etc but with no success. I still get a lot of unwanted space. How can resolve this?
I have a report (stored procedure) that I have set up in SQL 2005 Reporting Services. I've designed this report (using SQL server business intelligence studio), and several other reports, thinking that running totals or summing may be the issue, but it hasn't been. The latest iteration has been just a display of product info, about 100 records, no fields formatted or summed. Very very simple, straight-forward report. If I go to the Report server & upload the rdl file, it displays fine, performs as it should, paging & exporting - everything works fine. The issue comes up when in a web app, I put a Reportviewer control on the page, and call the report.
It works, sort of.
Originally, I had written the page using ASP.NET AJAX Enabled web project, and I had been using the Tab Container on the page. What happens is when I open it on that tab (I am using AJAX Tab panels, which had been working fine without this behavior prior to finally getting the reportviewer working), and the report displays, the "e" on Internet explorer at the top of the tab now flickers, like the page is reloading. It also runs the CPU up to 100% on the computer and although I can go from tab to tab in it (I am using AJAX tab panels in the page), it will take like up to a minute to go to the next tab. I'm not doing anything really data-intensive on those tabs, and they had been functioning fine prior to putting in the report viewer (i.e. they weren't flickering & clocking the CPU).
Thinking that the Tab Container may be the issue, I created just a plain AJAX Enabled web project and put the same reportviewer on it. Same performance. It'll display the report, and then take the system up to 100% and stay there until I kill the browser.
After that, I did just a plain old ASP.Net web project and put the report viewer control on it. Same result. The report will display, but as soon as it does, the "e" on Internet Explorer tab starts flickering and you see the CPU go to 100% and stay there. I've left it for 20-30 minutes with no change. It appears as if the page is constantly refreshing.
Thinking that the issue may be related to having the reportviewer report hard coded in the app, I put a button on the page, and assigned the button to put in the report. It displays, but it again runs the CPU up to 100% and stays there.
I thought that having Asynch = True (run the report asynchronously) might be the issue, but setting it to false made no difference.
I eventually have to kill the page to do anything, because it has the system up to 100%.
The code I am using on this page follows:
Here's the code in the codefile:
Private Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load If Not Page.IsPostBack Then Me.ReportViewer1.Visible = False End If ReportViewer1.ServerReport.ReportPath = ""
End Sub
Protected Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click ReportViewer1.Visible = True ReportViewer1.ServerReport.ReportPath = "/BA10listing"
.... so you can see there's a lot going on here. The report returns ~100 records or so, no calculations, no summation, no grand totals. Basically a "nothing" report, just listing product info data.
In SQL Reporting Services in the web browser, this report displays fine, no problems. It's only when I call it from the Reportviewer inside a web page that it hangs.
Any idea why reportviewer might make this act this way?
My system is running Windows XP, VS 2005, I have both SQL 2000 and SQL 2005 on this same box. I have a server that has both SQL 2000 & SQL 2005 on it as well, and the behavior is the same for both, whether I run the web page with the Reportviewer control on it with the report being on the local system, or the remote system.
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.
I'm trying to create reports in RS2005 using AS2000 as my data source. I understand that if I use RS2005 on AS2000, I wont be able to enjoy the OLAP based parameters as in using AS2005. Does anyone know an easy way to easily use Parameters in RS2005 while still using AS2000?
My requirement for the parameter is multivalue parameter with a text box. for example when user enters aa15 it need to include product aa15. when the user enters aa15, aa16, zz15 than it needs to include all the three products. the last case is when the user enters AA** than i need to inclued all the products start with AA. when i use default multivalue parameter with data source analytical services than i am getting a drop down box. I dont want that. I need a text box where user can enter the value. 1. In sql we have a like key word to query . for example select * from product where product like "AA%". what is equavalent mdx query to get such results ? 2.How to impliment the multivalue parameters without using dropdown box?
Hi all I want to show two values in one cell.is it possible. I need to display number and percentage in one cell Like ---- Number and percentage in Brakets. 10 (20%) How can i do it? Pls help me
I defined my input parameter as date/time but it doesn't have a time picker where we can accept user input.
The calendar is great but time picker is missing.
Is there any add-in or tweaks I can use to get that feature ?
The alternative solution which uses drop down with some preset values are not feasible for me. All I need is just the time picker similar to adjust time in Windows.
My Expression in the data fields inside design mode is:
IIF(Fields!Row_num.Value mod 2 ,"White","LightGrey")
I am using a Dense rank Function at the dataset level in order to group id column wise. So Fields!Row_num.Value comes from that set.
Earlier it was BLANK values: Please see below for reference.
Tried IsNull on SQL Server already and does not work because there are no NULLs in the data I am retrieving. The empty cells happen when the matrix creates the crosstab report - where there is no data for a column. Everything else works well except the BLANK values being not colored as you see in the screen shot, im using ISNOTHING function to achieve those 0's if NULLS inside the report. But though we have a value inside the cell coming from report it does not colour the entire group.
My requirement is coloring the entire column group irrespective of the NULLs' or Blanks.
Have also tries several functions, but of no use. I am missing with a tiny thing I guess which I am unable to figure out.
Other Functions Tried:
=IIF(VAL(ReportItems!ROWCOLOR.Value) MOD 2,"WHITE","LightGrey") =iif(RunningValue(Fields!City.Value,CountDistinct,Nothing) Mod 2, "LIGHTBLUE", "SILVER") =iif(RunningValue(Fields!DQLogDateTime.Value,CountDistinct, Nothing) MOD 2, "LightGrey","White")
I have a report that displays fine in VS 2005 (in the Preview tab), and if I hit it via a URL in IE as a deployed report. However, when I embed it in a ReportViewer control for display on a web site, I get no data back for the report. I am using an Oracle database for the data source. None of the the logs in reporting services show anything wrong, there are no events in the event viewer to indicate any problems, Oracle logs also show no problems and no errors are returned to the page when the "View Report" button is clicked.
We have recently upgraded our .Net web application from a windows 2003 server to a windows 2012 server. Since this happened users that are trying to print a reporting services report is getting the error "Unable to load client print control". We are using reporting services 2012, but the application is using the 8 version of the viewer. The reporting services server did not change only the application server. The code for the application did not change.
I have used my parameter value in where clause of my dataset control SQL query. When I choose a single value in my multiple-value parameter then I get output as expected. Hovewer when I choose multuple values I get an arror:
Only one expression can be specified in the select list when the subquery is not introduced with EXISTS. ---------------------------- Query execution failed for dataset 'DATABASE'. (rsErrorExecutingCommand) ---------------------------- An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
I am convinced that it's a syntax problem. Is there a way I can change syntax of data output from query:
select @parameter
I need output to be like: value, value, value ... etc.
The dataset control query looks something like the following:
select ID, a, b, c, d from DATASET.dbo.Table where ID in (select @parameter)
I have been searching through google for weeks to solve this and got this far and got stuck. Is it possible at all to achieve what I am looking for?
I want to Change parameter position in SSRS report.I need Start Date and End Date Parameter at same column so client can easily select Start Date and End Date.I have tried a lot but not succeed.
How Can I change the position of Start Date and End Date.I can't change order of other three parameter Select Institutions, Select Author and Course Pack Names parameter because they are internally related to each other(forward dependencies are there).
I am working with vs2013 and have developed ssrs report in ssdt that creates RDL files, I want to view this report in asp.net web page using vs 2013 Reportviewer control. How do I do that? What are the proper steps to configure reportviewer control.so I can view ssrs report through vs2013 ultimate edition.
.NET Permissions Error in Reporting Services when not using a custom assembly: I need help resolving a permissions error I€™m taking in a SQL RS 2005 report. I have a report that that is includes the following code fragment in Report Properties -> Code: Function rtf2text(ByVal rtf As String) As String Dim rtfcontrol As New System.Windows.Forms.RichTextBox Try rtfcontrol.Rtf = rtf Return rtfcontrol.Text Catch ex as Exception Return ex.Message End Try End Function I reference the .NET System.Windows.Forms DLL under Report Properties -> References -> References, Assembly Name (heading): System.Windows.Forms, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089 I have a text box with the following expression: =code.rtf2text(First(Fields!EndingQuoteComment.Value, "QuoteHeader")) And I€™ve verified, by removing the code.rtf2text command that is populated with the following: { tf1ansiansicpg1252deff0deflang1033{fonttbl{f0fromanfprq2fcharset0 Times New Roman;}{f1fnilfcharset0 Arial;}} viewkind4uc1pardif0fs32 ** Ending Quote Comments **par 0i0f1fs17par } When I run the preview in Visual Studio is correctly strips the RTF and displays just €œ** Ending Quote Comments **€?. When I €˜RUN€™ locally or deploy to a SQL RS 2005 Server and run the report I take the following error: Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.UIPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. I€™ve tried everything that I can think of on the server to make this work. I finally put together a Win 2003 box with SQL 2005, IIS, and RS 2005 running on it in a virtual machine to be 100% sure I had a standard clean install and deployed the report and I€™m getting the same error. Below I€™ve included a basic standalone RDL file that demonstrates my issue. I get the error referenced above when I deploy the RDL below. Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated?

We are using SharePoint 2010 integrated with Reporting Services 2008 R2. We have successfully configured RS and we are able to create RDL reports using Report Builder from the SharePoint site.
However we are getting following error message when we host same RDL report using Report Viewer control in an application page i.e. ASPX page:
<ERROR>The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized</ERROR>
We can fix this issue by setting:
1) setting impersonation to false in web.config file:
<identity impersonate="false" />
2) Setting Report server URL to _vti_bin path:
rptViewer.ServerReport.ReportServerUrl = new Uri("http://sharepointserver:1000/_vti_bin/reportserver");
If we turn impersonation to true we get the same error. Other project module requires impersonation to be enabled. Hence we cannot proceed further with this work around/fix.
I have a SSRS report developed in Visual Studio 2013 and using SQL server 2012. It has a date control based on parameters which works correctly in the development environment. I can select by day AND I can move from date to date by clicking on the month name to be able to move by month or double clicking to be able to move by year.Â
When the report is deployed to Internet Explorer 11 or Firefox I can only, click back and forward by one day at a time and I can not double click the date control to move by month or double click to move by year. I can type the dates into the parameter box and get the correct result. I have set the compatibility view settings in IE for my server.Â
Our DBA has installed reporting services on a server and now in order to access the report manager, one has to be an Admin on that Server. I am guessing that there is a mistake in the configuration of Reporting Services. Usually it should allow anybody who was added to the roles in the properties section of the Report Manager, right? I have also added the users to the DB..
Also I am using Windows Authentication to access Report Catalog items (Reporting Services is installed on Server2) from a web Application(deployed on Server1) and displaying the report using report viewer. For some reason, server1 has to be in an Admin role on Server2 to access the report catalog/report. This is kinda strange for me as I don't want everybody to be an Admin on Server2. Can anybody please point in the right direction?
Any body plese tell me How to set the Parameters at the time or report design and how to use that parameter to call report from web application.Suppose i want to display report depend on Prodid(field in table). And Suppose i want to display report between dates.
I have ony query in my dataset at design time with parameters. I am getting the correct data when i pass parameters. Supose,i dont pass any parameters,I need Total data. Now how can i write other query in my Data set. Regards
We are implementing one SQL Server 2005 Reporting services for my client. I want to know, is there any possibilty to keep track the parameters at SQL Reporting sever side, which i am sending it from my UI.
As most are aware by now, the Report Viewer controls for reporting services in 12.0 and prior rely on ActiveX to work. Â This causes compatibility issues for any non-IE browser, and as of IE11 and now Windows 10 Edge browser it's causing issues for even IE. Â Research suggests that SSRS 2014 switched out to Silverlight:
[URL]
However, Silverlight uses NPAPI which is another technology for which all browsers are ending support. Â As of this writing, Chrome has already ended support. Â Similarly/Coincidentally Java support is ending as well.
My question is, what are Microsoft's plan to restore functionality such as print/search for browsers where ActiveX/Silverlight cannot be used since this support is no longer strictly a 3rd party browser situation?
It seems the features are disabled when using any of the above because of compatibility issues with scripting/ActiveX not being properly supported by the FireFox and Chrome.
I believe the control determines the browser you are using is not IE and will not render the controls to prevent unexpected behavior because if the lack of ActiveX support. This can be seen when you compare the HTML of a page using IE8 and that of either IE11, FF, Chrome you'll see that the HTML for a zoom drop down control will show up in the IE8 browser and not in the others.
As for IE11 it presents itself as a Mozilla browser. eg: "User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/7.0; rv:11.0) like Gecko" so when the control see's this it wont generate any of the controls believing the browser can't support it, even though IE11 should certainly be capable of doing so. I wanted to know if this is correct and if this is a bug?
Browser Support for ReportViewer "The ReportViewer Web server control is used to embed report functionality in an ASP.NET Web application. The type of browser used to view the application determines the kind of functionality that you can provide in a report. The page mentions that the following wont be supported by other browsers The following features are not supported in third-party browsers:
