I have a stored procedure that I have written that manipulates date fields in order to produce certain reports. I would like to add a column in the dataset that will be a join from another table (the table name is Periods).
USE [International_Forecast_New] GO /****** Object: StoredProcedure [dbo].[GetOpenResult] Script Date: 01/07/2014 11:41:35 ******/ SET ANSI_NULLS ON GO SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON GO
[Code] ....
What I need is to add the period, quarter and year to the dataset based on the "Store_Open" value.
For example Period 2 looks like this Period Quarter Year Period Start Period End 2 1 20142014-01-27 2014-02-23
So if the store_open value is 02/05/2014, it would populate Period 2, Quarter 1, Year 2014.
I have created a trigger that is set off every time a new item has been added to TableA.The trigger then inserts 4 rows into TableB that contains two columns (item, task type).
Each row will have the same item, but with a different task type.ie.
I have a table of users including: UserName, Password (comuted col), FirstName, LastName, Address and other details....
I have to keep 10 Recent passwords , so I created another table "ut_Password " (Table2)
This table contains the following columns : Username, Password , and Password_Date.
I searched a lot but could not find something similar in my opinion need SP for it.
- 10 row Max for Password History in table 2 - when user change password it's need to be uniqe and it should not appear last 10 passwords - Each user can have a maximum of 10 lines containing history password table - Most old password deleted and replaced with a new password will enter the correct date (FIFO method first in first out).
Ok I have a query "SELECT ColumnNames FROM tbl1" let's say the values returned are "age, sex, race".
Now I want to be able to create an "update" statement like "UPATE tbl2 SET Col2 = age + sex + race" dynamically and execute this UPDATE statement. So, if the next select statement returns "age, sex, race, gender" then the script should create "UPDATE tbl2 SET Col2 = age + sex + race + gender" and execute it.
I have a query that displays a bunch of fields, specifically a createdon field and closedate field.I need to find the diff in days between date1 and date2 and only disiplay those results. For example: where the NumDays = a certain value. For example, 81.I have the NumDays displaying in the query, but I don't know how to reference these values in the where clause.
I am selecting the count of the students in a class by suing select COUNT(studentid) as StCount FROM dbo.student But I need to use a case statement on this like if count is less than 10 I need to return 'Small class' if the count is between 10 to 50 then I need to return 'Medium class' and if the count is more than 50 then 'Big class'.
Right now I am achieving this by the following case statement
SELECT 'ClassSize' = CASE WHEN Stcount<10 THEN 'Small Class' WHEN Stcount>=10 and StCount<=50THEN 'Medium Class' WHEN Stcount>50 THEN 'Big Class' END FROM( select COUNT(studentid) as Stcount FROM dbo.student) Stdtbl
I am doing a web app on the full text search. My select statement using CONTAINS but it doesn't seem to return all the string that contains the search word I included in the query. For example:
Select CustomerID, customername, from CustomerTable where CONTAINS ((CustomerID), '"430*")
the query result only return all customer id which has space in front 430 or start with 430 ex: "xxx 430xxx" or "430 xxx" or "xxx 430 xxx"
but did not return customerID which doesn't has space in front of it Ex: x430xxx
If I use LIKE '%430%', the result return are both have space in front and don't have space in front.
I am writing a script to get all of the user objects out of a database. What I am having a hard time doing is filtering out the MS replication system objects, such as:
Have run to a select permission error when attempting insert data to a table. received the following error
Msg 229, Level 14, State 5, Line 11 The SELECT permission was denied on the object 'tableName', database 'DBname', schema 'Schema'.
Few things to note - There are no triggers depending on the table - Permissions are granted at a roll level which is rolled down to the login - The test environments have the same level of permission which works fine.
I wrote a select statement, I only want to see orders with max lastUpdatedOn date of 14 days and older. Now my results show dates with all orders of 14 days and older (which is OK), but all others are displayed in the "Uitgifte" column as "NULL". But those orders should not be displayed at all.
selectdistinct ProductionHeader.ProdHeaderOrdNr, ProductionHeader.PartCode, ProductionHeader.Description, ProductionHeader.Qty, (select max (ProdStatusLog.ProdStatusCode)
Select columnname from tablename order by ordercolumn
We will call that "sp_foldersOfFile". It takes 1 parameter, a fileID (int) value.
The result when I execute this from within Management Studio is a single column of 1 to n rows. I want to use these values in another stored procedure like this:
Select @userCount = COUNT(*) from permissions where UserID = @userID and (projectid = @projectID or projectid=0) and clientid = @clientID and folderpermissions in (dbo.sp_FoldersOfFile(@fileID))
The Stored Procedure compiles but it does not query the folderpermissions in the selected values from the sp_FoldersOfFile procedure. I'm sure it is a syntax issue.
I am currently trying to write a query that pulls a summation of item specific data from sales orders. For simplicity's sake, the column structure can be something like the following...
Item#, PoundsDuringWeekNumber (this would be the current week number out of the 52 weeks in a year and the pounds of the item during that week)
However, those are not going to be the only 2 columns. The idea of the query is that the user would be able to provide the query a date range (say 2 months) and the columns would then morph into the following...
Item#, PoundsDuringWeekNumber (current), PoundsDuringWeekNumber(current - 1), PoundsDuringWeekNumber (current - 2), etc. etc. PoundsDuringWeekNumber(current - 8)
Initial ideas where to create a function to execute the summation of the pounds during the date range of the week in question and execute it across the columns, but with the indeterminable number of columns, the query would not know how many times to execute the function.
I have a two tables each having a uniqueidentifier column person_id
I am trying to a select statement where I want a list of the person_id's in one table that are not in another table.
-- insert into wch_needed those who need checked
insert into #wch_needed (person_id, rendered_by ) select distinct e.person_id, e.rendered_by from #wch_who o, encounter e where o.person_id not in (select distinct person_id from #wch_have ) and o.person_id = e.person_id
the where conditional
where o.person_id not in (select distinct person_id from #wch_have )
I am using a OLE DB source task and i want to setup a parameter in the select statement. Is this possible and how would this be done. I know you can pass a parameter in the where clause like:
select id, lname, fname, startDate, endDate from Employee where id = ?
How would i set startDate and endDate as parameters as i would like to be able to change these parameters when running the package. I would like to set dates in the select statement as parameters like how you would in the where clause.
Select id, lname, fname, ? startDate, ? endDate, from employee where id = ?
I would like to be able to change these dates without having to go in to the package and hard code it back in there and then deploy.
The package uses a OLE DB source to Flatfile Destination.
how we can replace the multiple values in a single select statement? I have to build the output based on values stored in a table. Please see below the sample input and expected output.
create table #test (id int ,color varchar(20) ) insert into #test (id, color) values (1, 'blue'),(2, 'red'),(3,'green'),(4,'red,green')
if I wanted to run a query to select any records that had red in the color field, how would I do that? Not the one with only red, but a query that would give me both record number 2 and record number 4.
I have an Address column that I need to Substring. I want to remove part of the string after either, or both of the following characters i.e ',' OR '*'
Example Record 1. Elland **REQUIRES BOOKING IN*** Example Record 2. Theale, Nr Reading, Berkshire Example Record 3. Stockport
How do I achieve this in a CASE Statement?
The following two case statements return the correct results, but I some how need to combine them into a single Statement?
,LEFT(Address ,CASE WHEN CHARINDEX(',',Address) =0 THEN LEN(Address ) ELSE CHARINDEX(',' ,Address ) -1 END) AS 'Town Test'
,LEFT(Address ,CASE WHEN CHARINDEX('*',Address ) =0 THEN LEN(Address) ELSE CHARINDEX('*' ,Address ) -1 END) AS 'Town Test2'
I have two table with some identical fields and I am trying to populate one of the tables with a row that has been selected from the other table. Is there some standard code that I can use to take the selected row and input the data into the appropriate fields in the other table?
I'm trying to get the <Title> node value returned in the select statement below, but cant quite get it to work. I have the <ID> node being returned in the statement, but not the title. Any help is apprecited.

I am trying to find out CPU utilization from the history using process.%processor time. I am having dual core CPU with 2 numa nodes each having 16 logical cpus bind to it.
how to calculate the CPU utilization using perfmon.I tried to use SQL query which gives CPU history using SQL DMV, but I am unable to get the exact value. Because in between I have used the same querry to capture my CPU usage on the run day, the value on run day and the query which iam tryting to pull out is different. I am using the same query to pull the history data with providing the date.
-- Get CPU Utilization History (SQL Server 2008 and above)
DECLARE @ts BIGINT SELECT @ts =(SELECT cpu_ticks/(cpu_ticks/ms_ticks) FROM sys.dm_os_sys_info); SELECT SQLProcessUtilization AS [SQLServer_Process_CPU_Utilization], SystemIdle AS [System_Idle_Process], 100 - SystemIdle - SQLProcessUtilization AS [Other_Process_CPU_Utilization],
Hi,I'm trying to dynamically assign the table name for a SELECT statement but can't get it to work. Given below is my code: SET ANSI_NULLS ON GO SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON GO
CREATE PROCEDURE GetLastProjectNumber (@DeptCode varchar(20)) AS BEGIN TRANSACTION SET NOCOUNT ON
DECLARE @ProjectNumber int SET @ProjectNumber = 'ProjectNumber' + REPLACE(CONVERT(char,@DeptCode),'.','') SELECT MAX(@ProjectNumber) FROM 'tbl_ProjectNumber' + REPLACE(CONVERT(char,@DeptCode),'.',''); END TRANSACTION Basically, I have a bunch of tables which were created dynamically using the code from this post and now I need to access the last row in a table that matches the supplied DeptCode. This is the error I get:Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Procedure GetLastProjectNumber, Line 29Incorrect syntax near 'tbl_ProjectNumber'. Any help would be appreciated.Thanks.
I need to be able to take this information and display it in a data grid so that on each row I see the Member Number, First and Last Name and the In and Out Time.
I am not sure how to group the In and Out times together so that the query knows which time out corresponds to which time time for the member?
I would like to know if it is possible to do a SELECT statement where I can denormalize my table. I am not sure if it is needed to create a new table at first and insert denormalized values into the created table.
Example
Original table: ID XXX VALUES 1 a 10 1 b 15 1 c 8
And I want to use SELECT to get this table: ID a b c 1 10 15 8
