T-SQL (SS2K8) :: Winscp To Get Only Current Days Files?

Jan 21, 2015

I have to download the files from SFTP server, for which i am using WINSCP and i am able to successfully automate the process to download the files. But it is downloading all the files instead of only current day's files. Ihave searched for WINSCP documentation for time query parameter to pass to the get command. But its not working.

My source file name contains Datefield as "Filenameexample_150120_N001.txt".

Here 150120 mean Jan 20 2015.

Winscp has no functionality to query the files to parse using datefield. how to look for files which are from today's date.

Currently i am downloading files which contain *.* (meaning all files).

Date Query Problem Last 8 Days, Different Year From Current

Feb 19, 2008

Hi,

I'm having problems creating a query that brings the results based on last 8 days on date column (column9) and diferrent year from the current one.

If I run the each filter,

Code SnippetYear(Column9) <> Year(GetDate())

and

Code Snippet
(Column9 >= DATEADD(Day, DATEDIFF(Day, 0, GETDATE() - 8), 0)) AND (Column9 < DATEADD(Day, DATEDIFF(Day, 0, GETDATE() - 7), 0))

it returns the right values.

So far I've got (it returns no results):

Code Snippet
SELECT Column1, Column2, Column3, Column4, Column5, Column6, Column7, Column8, Column9, Column10, Column11, Column12, Column13, Column14,
Column15, Column16, Column17, Column18, Column19, Column20, Column21, Column22, Column23, Column24, Column25, Column26, Column27,
Column28, Column29, Column30, Column31, Column32, Column33, Column34, Column35, Column36, Column37, Column38, Column39, Column40,
Column41, Column42, Column43, Column44, Column45, Column46, Column47, Column48, Column49, data_anulacao, data_instalacao
FROM Contratos01
WHERE Year(Column9) <> Year(GetDate()) AND (Column9 >= DATEADD(Day, DATEDIFF(Day, 0, GETDATE() - 8), 0)) AND (Column9 < DATEADD(Day, DATEDIFF(Day, 0, GETDATE() - 7), 0))
ORDER BY Column1

Please give me your input.

Transact SQL :: Load Data For Last 15 Days By Decrementing Current Date And While Loop

Sep 21, 2015

I have a dynamic sql query where in I am comparing two tables and loading data for last 15 days. e.g today 2050921 then I am going to load till 20150906.

I pass on 2 variables @currentdate and @currentdate-1 to the query which are in date format 'yyyymmdd'

I need to do this for last 15 days how do I do this using while loop.

Note my date format is YYYYMMDD.

DECLARE @SQL VARCHAR(MAX)
@sql = ' insert into target
select from table_1_currentdate a
LEFT JOIN Table_2_currentdate-1 b
on a.col1=b.col1  where b.col1 is null '

exec(@sql)

I have to use while loop and decrement it every time and load data for last 15 days comparing two tables. I tried so many times I am not getting it right .

T-SQL (SS2K8) :: Retrieve Dates For Last 7 Days

Mar 26, 2014

The following query was used for retrieving dates for the last 7 days . Untill February this query was running fine and would return the last seven days date including today.

SELECT DISTINCT TOP 7 Convert(DateTime, DATEDIFF(DAY, 0, DateCreated)) AS DateCreated,
datepart(dw,DateCreated) AS WeekNum from [TechnologyRepository].[helpdsk].[WorkDetails]
WHERE DATEDIFF(DAY, Convert(DateTime, DATEDIFF(DAY, 0, DateCreated)),GETDATE()) <= 7

However from March (not sure of the exact date)..the query below would only give us 7 days until yesterday..i.e it would list dates from 3/19,3/20,3/21,3/22,3/23,3/24,3/25 and not 3/26 ..

I changed the query to <= 6 and it works as expected. But still not sure why it would not return todays date with <= 7.

SELECT DISTINCT TOP 7 Convert(DateTime, DATEDIFF(DAY, 0, DateCreated)) AS DateCreated,
datepart(dw,DateCreated) AS WeekNum from [TechnologyRepository].[helpdsk].[WorkDetails]
WHERE DATEDIFF(DAY, Convert(DateTime, DATEDIFF(DAY, 0, DateCreated)),GETDATE()) <= 6

T-SQL (SS2K8) :: Identifying Current Record

Mar 6, 2014

I have a snapshot table of about 15 million records in the form of:

InvoiceIDLineItemIDSnapshotDateAmount
1 1 20140101 12
1 2 20140102 14
1 3 20140103 17
2 1 20140101 10
2 2 20140102 5
1 2 20140105 15
1 3 20140105 20

I want to create an additional column called Current as shown below:

InvoiceIDLineItemIDSnapshotDateAmount Current
1 1 20140101 12 1
1 2 20140102 14 0
1 3 20140103 17 0
2 1 20140101 10 1
2 2 20140102 5 1
1 2 20140105 15 1
1 3 20140105 20 1

How can we write a query to achieve this while keeping in mind:

- We do not want to do unnecessary record lookups and Updates
- We only update records that corresponds to new entries. For example, we should not touch the record for InvoiceID = 2 in the above example

T-SQL (SS2K8) :: Set Current Row Using Values In Previous Row

Feb 25, 2015

I've tried all sorts of code i.e. cross apply, running totals, etc. Cannot get this to work. I am trying to add a previous row value but only doing it for each group.

Source records
DECLARE @tbl table (Item int, Sequence int, StartTime datetime, Duration int)
INSERT INTO @tbl (Item,Sequence,StartTime, Duration) VALUES (1,1,'2/25/2015 12:00 am',10),(1,2,null,20),(1,3, null,22),(2,1,'2/25/2015 1:00 am',15),(2,2,null,30),(2,3, null,45),(2,4, null,5)
select * from @tbl

ItemSequenceStartTimeDuration
1102/25/15 0:0010
12null 20
13null 22
2102/25/15 1:0015
22null 30
23null 45
2 4 null 5

I would like to set the start time of the next row to be equal to the previous row time + duration. I know the start time of each group of 'Items' when the 'Sequence' number = 1. The last 'duration' value in the group would be ignored.

My expected output would be:

ItemSequenceStartTimeDuration
1102/25/15 0:0010
1202/25/15 0:1020
1302/25/15 0:3022
2102/25/15 1:0015
2202/25/15 1:1530
2302/25/15 1:4545
2402/25/15 2:305

My issues are:

2. Avoid weekend dates. I need the query to display only weekdays

3. Currently I am using "PERCENTAGE 5: as a column header whereas I need the actual date as the header.

T-SQL (SS2K8) :: Current Year Begin And End Dates

May 6, 2014

I am working on some payroll related code which currently has the following hard-coded CASE statement (I won't include the entire thing, it is lengthy):

AND b.TCDateTime BETWEEN '2013-01-01 0:00' and '2013-12-31 23:59'

I want to get rid of the hard coding, and have this use current year dates. So for 2014, it should reference rows where the TCDateTime is >='2014-01-01 0:00' AND <'2015-01-01 0:00'..I think the following would accomplish this, but would like confirmation that this is the 'best' way (and that it will work!)

SELECT CONVERT(DATETIME, CONVERT(CHAR(4), DATEPART(yyyy, GETDATE())) + '0101') AS curryrbegin
--output should be yyyy-01-01 00:00:00.0 where yyyy is current year
SELECT CONVERT(DATETIME, CONVERT(CHAR(4), DATEPART(yyyy + 1, GETDATE()))
+ '0101') AS nextyrbegin
--output s/b nextyear-01-01-00:00:00.0

Then, change the CASE statement to read:

AND (b.TCDateTime >= curryrbegin AND < nextyrbegin)

Power Pivot :: Cumulative Total For Current Week Days And Previous Week

Nov 30, 2015

We are trying to compare our current calendar week (based on Monday being the first day of the week) with the previous calendar week.

I'm trying to produce a line chart with 2 axis:

- x axis; the day of the week (Mon, Tues, Wed etc - it is fine for this to be a # rather than text e.g. 1 = Mon, 2 = Tues etc)
- y axis; the cumulative number of orders

The chart needs two series:

Previous Week. The running count of orders placed that week.
Current Week. The running count of orders placed this week.

Obviously in such a chart the 'Current Week' series is going not going to have values along the whole axis until the end of the week. This is expected and the aim of the chart is to see the current week compares against the previous week for the same day.

I have two tables:

Orders TableCalendar Table

The calendar table's main date column is [calDate] and there are columns for the usual [calWeekNum], [calMonth] etc.

My measure for counting orders is simply; # Orders: = countrows[orders].

How do I take this measure and then work out my two series. I have tried numerous things such as adapting TOTALMTD(), following articles such as these:

- [URL] ...
- [URL] ...

But I have had no luck. The standard cumulative formulas do work e.g. if I wanted a MTD or YTD table I would be ok, it's just adjusting to a WTD that is causing me big issues.

T-SQL (SS2K8) :: Finding The Item Filled In Prior To Current One

May 13, 2015

I have data similar to the below

CREATE TABLE #TEMP
(
TYPE VARCHAR(10),
SEQ INT,
SUB_TYPE VARCHAR(10))

[Code] ....

Now for each type the seq is very important. Effectively by order of seq the subtype stays the same until another subtype changes it. So for TYPE1 100,110 and 150 are A. 170, 200,220 are B. 230 and 250 are C and so on.

However as you can see the data isnt actually stored in the row. I need a select statement that shows this data.

I have done this:

SELECT t1.*,t3.SUB_TYPE FROM #TEMP t1
CROSS APPLY
(SELECT MAX(SEQ) SEQ FROM #TEMP AS t2 WHERE t1.SEQ >= t2.seq AND t2.SUB_TYPE <>'' AND t1.TYPE = t2.TYPE
GROUP BY t2.TYPE) t2
INNER JOIN
#TEMP t3
ON t3.TYPE = t1.TYPE AND t2.SEQ = t3.SEQ

And it seems to work. Is this the easiest way to do it or am i missing something?

SQL Server 2008 :: Running WinSCP In SSIS Task / Bat File

Apr 29, 2015

I'm trying to call WinSCP in a SSIS Execute Process Task using a .bat file to automate. SSIS is returning a generic failure error message ("Error: 0xC0029151 at Execute Process Task, Execute Process Task: In Executing "MyServerC$Program Files (x86)WinSCPWinSCP.exe" "-script=MyNASShareWinSCPFTP.bat " at "", The process exit code was "1" while the expected was "0"."). So now I'm trying to run the .bat file by itself. Unfortunately, the command prompt rushes by so fast that I can't see what the server is doing.

I can't find anything on the WinSCP site that indicates how to slow down the .bat file processing or log the remote server responses. I do see how to use the /log switch when using the interactive command line console, but that's not what I want to do.

Delete Files Older Than 3 Days Using SSIS Tasks

Aug 11, 2006

I want to delete all files in a given folder that are older than 3 days from today's date.

I tried using a "Foreach Loop container" with a "File System" task inside it but found I couldn't access any file properties such as the file creation date. Am I using the wrong task for this job?

TIA,

Barkingdog

P.S. History of the problem:

I used the sql 2005 Database maintenance program to setup our database backup jobs. One day I noticed that the free space on the drive where we keep the dumps had grown small. I found that we had at least 4 weeks of dumps in there, not the 3 days I wanted to keep! I looked but could not find the "delete file" option in the SSIS package generated by the Database Maintenance Wizard. No wonder the files were piling up.

T-SQL (SS2K8) :: Generate Working Schedule For Employees For X-days Ahead Based On Starting Date

May 6, 2014

I would like to generate a working schedule for employees for x-days ahead based on a starting date that the user can enter.

I have got 3 relevant tables:

1. Table X with (1) resourcenumber, (2) starting date working schedule and (3) the daynumber representing the starting date (this is ISO so 1 for Monday, 2 for Tuesday etc.)

2. Table Y has the schedule itself and can hold a 7-days schedule or a 14-days schedule. In case of 7 days schedule there a 14 (!) records with (1) resourcenumber, (2) daynumber, (3) starting hour a.m. (4) ending hour a.m (5) starting hour p.m and (6) ending hour p.m. In case of a 14-days schedule there are 28 records (a.m. and p.m. records)

3. Table Z with resource data.

An example to clarify (for fake employee 100):

Table X:
Resource: 100
Starting date: 2012-03-01 (from this date the schedule will be effective)
Daynumber: 4 (2012-03-01 was a Thursday)

Table Y (Resource has a 14 days schedule because per 2 weeks Monday is an off-day):

Record 1 shows: Resource: 100, Daynumber: 1 (= Monday, working day), AM-Starting hour: 09:00, AM-Ending hour: 13:00, PM-starting hour: 13:30, PM-ending hour: 17:30
Record 2: same but daynumber is 2
Record 3: same but daynumber is 3 etc.
...
Record 8 shows: Resource: 100, Daynumber: 8 (= Monday, off-day), AM-Starting hour: 00:00, AM-Ending hour: 00:00, PM-starting hour: 00:00, PM-ending hour: 00:00
Record 9: same as record 2 but daynumber is 9.
etc.
...
Record 14: same as record 7 but day is 14 (= last day)

The weekend days show as 00:00 for the hours (same as day 8 in example)

I generated the working schedule with a CROSS APPLY function based on the starting date and the x-number of days ahead.

I then evaluate the actual daynumber corresponding with that date with the daynumber in table Y. That works fine with a 7-days schedule but I can't get it fixed with a 14-days schedule. Day 8 in that schedule represents an actual day 1 but how do I know what actual date day 8 is ... I think I have to start with the starting date in table X ...

I think ideally I would like to have the generated days as follows (as an example in case of a 14-days schedule starting 2014-05-01 for 30 days ahead):

2014-05-01 = day 4 (= actual daynumber)
2014-05-02 = day 5
2014-05-03 = day 6
...
2014-05-10 = day 13
2014-05-11 = day 14
2014-05-12 = day 1
2014-05-13 = day 2
2014-05-14 = day 3
...
2014-05-24 = day 13
2014-05-25 = day 14
2014-05-26 = day 1
2014-05-27 = day 2
...
2014-05-31 = day 6

With this done I can compare the actual daynumber with the daynumber in Table Y.

The rownumber that the CROSS APPLY function generates has to be reset to 1 after day 14. I tried PARTITION BY in THE ROW_NUMBER function but to no avail ... The only field I can partition by is the maximum value of the daynumber (14 is the example) but that is not allowed in the rownumber function.

T-SQL (SS2K8) :: Table With Score Info For Groups - Ranking For Current And Previous Week

Jan 21, 2015

I have a table with score info for each group, and the table also contains historical data, I need to get the ranking for the current week and previous week, here is what I did and the result is apparently wrong:

select CurRank = row_number() OVER (ORDER BY cr.CurScore desc) , cr.group_name,cr.CurScore
, lastWeek.PreRank, lastWeek.group_name,lastWeek.PreScore
from
(select group_name,
Avg(case when datediff(day, asAtDate, getdate()) <= 7 then sumscore else 0 end) as CurScore

[Code] ....

The query consists two parts: from current week and previous week respectively. Each part returns correct result, the final merged result is wrong.

T-SQL (SS2K8) :: Getting Files Size For Each Database File?

Oct 28, 2014

I would like to add to it the actual file size in mb or gb of each file to the results.

select sd.name,mf.name as logical_name,mf.physical_name,
case
when dm.mirroring_state is null then 'No'
else 'Yes'
end as Mirrored
from sys.sysdatabases sd JOIN
sys.master_files mf on sd.dbid = mf.database_id
join sys.database_mirroring dm on sd.dbid = dm.database_id

The sp_spaceused procedure does a nice job on it's own giving me what I want (only one db though), plus a bonus allocated space column. How can I combine this sp with my other query, or is there a better way to ad this information?
