SELECT Production_Date, Production_Order, LogicalVat KPI_Category,
'Probiotic Amt Consumed' KPI_Data1_Name,'RC Amt Consumed' KPI_Data2_Name
FROM
( SELECT Production_Date , NULL Production_Order,
LogicalVat, ReportValue ReportValue
FROM BIReports.dbo.r_VatMake
WHERE Production_Date between '10/27/2015' and '10/27/2015'
[code].....
Now the attributes changed into like below where the number after RC is dynamic and I can't use the query above anymore
Example:
RC Amt Consumed - RC 6
RC Amt Consumed - RC 7
RC Amt Consumed - RC 8
Probiotic attribute changed into like below where number after PROB is dynamic
Probiotic Amt Consumed - PROB 15
Probiotic Amt Consumed - PROB 16
Probiotic Amt Consumed - PROB 17
I have a table which I would like to group on several columns, and for the Contract number, I'd like a maximum of four different columns which would contain pivoted information.
Here is my DDL:
CREATE TABLE [dbo].[SV00403]( [CUSTNMBR] [char](15) NOT NULL, [ADRSCODE] [char](15) NOT NULL, [Contract_Number] [char](11) NOT NULL, [WSCONTSQ] [int] NOT NULL,
I'm trying to Pivot and I keep getting an "Invalid Column Name" error, which I can't figure out since, if I run the query and exclude the Pivot statement, the query runs fine.
Columns ItemNmbr Char(31) not null SetupTime_I Numeric(19,5) not null WCID_I Char(11) not null select ItemNmbr,SetupTime_I, WCID_I from RT010130 Results
Now run select ItemNmbr,SetupTime_I, WCID_I from RT010130 pivot (sum(SetupTime_I) for WCID_I in ([BLA01],[URE02])) PVT
And I get an Invalid Column Name error for both SetupTime_I and WCID_I - which, as far as I can tell, is demonstrably incorrect.
I have a query that uses the PIVOT function and works fine in SQL 2012. I've been asked to move the query to a database that has the compatibility level set to 80(SQL 2000). I receive an "Incorrect syntax near" error when I try to excute the query on the SQL 2000 database. I would like to duplicate the exiting PIVOT functionality in SQL 2000.The existing query retrieves employee names and the order that the employee should be displayed from a table. The names will appear on the report according to the order that is retrieved from the database. Also, the users have requested that only 5 names appear on each row of the report. This is why the PIVOT function was needed. Below is an example of how the existing query works.
Table CREATE TABLE [dbo].[EmpGuest]( [Guest_ID] [int] NOT NULL, [Guest_Name] [varchar](80) NULL, [Display_Order] [int] NULL ) ON [PRIMARY]
I am trying to find a solution in order to make a pivot dynamically. One of my department charge every month all the sales figure in one table and I need to pick up the last two months archived in order to make a pivot and to see if something is changed or not. What I am trying to do is to have these last two months dynamically. create table forum (customer varchar (50), nmonth varchar(6), tot int, archived datetime)
insert into forum values ('Pepsi','201503',100,'2015-04-28'), ('Pepsi','201504',200,'2015-04-28'), ('Texaco','201503',600,'2015-04-28'), ('Texaco','201504',300,'2015-04-28'),
[code]...
As you can see I have to change manually the values underlined every months but it's a temporary solution. How can I set up the last two months in a dynamic way?
I found this Microsoft article for creating crosstab-like queries in SSMS.Is it possible, however, to create this same query if I do not know what the values for the columns will be? Using their example for my problem, I will not know what the values in the "IN" criteria will be because my query would be for a "rolling" 12 months (thus causing that IN criteria to change every month).I've tried declaring variables to pull in the values, but since this will eventually go into a view, I don't think that I can use declared variables.
Can we use case in pivot like below? I am getting an error. I want to do Pivot on condition basis.
select ( Column1 ,Column2 ,Column3 ,Column4 ,coloumn5 from Mytable ) x pivot ( case when Column1 = 6 then sum(Column3) else max(Column4) End for coloumn5 in (' + @COLS + ') )p
I am trying to use a Pivot T-SQL statement in the Table Adapter Configuration Wizard in Visual Studio 2005. I get the error message "The Pivot SQL construct or statement is not supported". Then it executes the SQL statement as if there were no error. Unfortunately, it will not create the table adapter because of the error. Below is the T-SQL statement I am using.
SELECT OrderNumber, OrderDate, custlastname, [1001] AS Dept01, [1002] AS Dept02, [1003] AS Dept03, [1004] AS Dept04, [1005] AS Dept05, [1006] AS Dept06, [1007] AS Dept07, [1008] AS Dept08, [1009] AS Dept09, [1010] AS Dept10, [1011] AS Dept11, [1012] AS Dept12 FROM
(SELECT Orders.Ordernumber, Orders.OrderDate, Customer.custlastname, DeptID, OrderDetail.DetailAmount FROM OrderDetails od JOIN Orders ON Orders.OrderNumber = od.OrderNumber JOIN Customer ON Orders.CustomerID = Customer.CustID WHERE (DATEPART([Year], OrderDate) = '2006')) p
PIVOT (SUM(OrderDetailAmount) FOR DeptID IN ([1001], [1002], [1003], [1004], [1005], [1006], [1007], [1008], [1009], [1010], [1011], [1012])) AS pvt ORDER BY OrderNumber
The statement works fine in Management Studio so I know the syntax is correct.
I got a table which gets populated by stor proc where we pivot the Sum(Balance of mortgage) by YYYYMM for the whole duration of the loan term.
I have a requirement to rename the column header where the previous month end balance period be renamed to P0.
if we run the report today, then the balance as at 31/09 should show under column P0 which now shows under 201509 and then P0 keeps shifting with each month run.
I pulled some examples of using a subquery pivot to build a temp table, but cannot get it to work.
IF OBJECT_ID('tempdb..#Pyr') IS NOT NULL DROP TABLE #Pyr GO SELECT vst_int_id, [4981] AS Primary_Ins, [4978] AS Secondary_Ins,
[code]....
The problems I am having are with the integer data being used to create temp table fields. The bracketed numbers on line 7-10 give me an invalid column name error each. In the 'FOR', I get another error "Incorrect syntax near 'FOR'. Expecting '(', or '.'.". The first integer in the "IN" gives me an "Incorrect syntax near '[4981]'. Expecting '(' or SELECT". I will post the definitions from another effort below.
In such a case, devising a dynamic cross-tab query, to cover all the items, and result like a pivot like the following to represent the data in a multi-header pivot like following:
I have some data which is vertical...I want to create a pivot query in SQL that will give me a result that is horizontal like this. I cannot find a way of doing it without lots of IF or CASE statements?
I have the following data:Product Type Hours Controllers Development 105.0Controllers Research 1.0Controllers Sustaining 24.0How do I use SQL statement to change it to the following?Product Development Research SustainingControllers 105.0 1.0 24.0Thanks.DanYeung
I want to pivot a table something like this .I pivoted it successfully but the results are not correct.
Here is the example :
install-Name Fiscal year Question Answer Washington 2010 what is the reason for install? tttttt ggg yttt o washington 2010 reason id 12345 washington 2010 install start date 10/10/2010 washington 2010 install end date 10/12/2010 washington 2010 install status successfull
[code]....
I want the above data to get pivoted like this
Install-name | Fiscal year |what is the reason for install? | reason id | install start date | install end date | install status |Do you feel the install is incomplete? | Is the expiration of 90 days exceeded? |
washington | 2010 | tttttt ggg yttt o | 12345 | 10/10/2010 | 10/12/2010 | successful | | | washington | 2010 | trtbnbthwgt hrgthjrt | - | 12/3/2010 | 12/8/2010 | | | | washington | 2011 | sbjeh dhebwdh dbjw | 345 | 10/10/2010 | 10/12/2010 | successful | No | Yes ,but b b b b |
I created a Switch statement below that surprisingly doesn't throw any errors and some of it actually works. The problem is that the function calls in the 3rd and 4th sections of it below (in bold) are not working.
=switch(HASONEVALUE('s1JudgeIds'[JudgeName]), values('s1JudgeIds'[JudgeName])<>"1 - All Judges" && values('s1Perm1'[Exit])<>"Still in Out-of-Home Care",CALCULATE(count(s1Perm1[entity_id]),FILTER(ALL(Time[ExitMonthCategory]),Time[ExitMonthCategory] <= MAX(Time[ExitMonthCategory]))), values('s1JudgeIds'[JudgeName])="1 - All Judges" && values('s1Perm1'[Exit])<>"Still in Out-of-Home Care",calculate([Numerator],all('s1JudgeIds'[JudgeName])), values('s1JudgeIds'[JudgeName])="1 - All Judges" && values('s1Perm1'[Exit])="Still in Out-of-Home Care",calculate([Numerator-stillincare],all('s1JudgeIds'[JudgeName])), values('s1JudgeIds'[JudgeName])<>"1 - All Judges" && values('s1Perm1'[Exit])="Still in Out-of-Home Care",calculate([Numerator-stillincare])

Is there a way we can get Table and Column name in separate column using PIVOT or something?Right now what i have is:
Text QueryPlan Plan_handle Name Value
select id,name,Address from person <showPlznXML... 010101 Table Person select id,name,Address from person <showPlznXML... 010101 column id select id,name,Address from person <showPlznXML... 010101 Table Person
1. A duplicate record is defined as a record where PPN_I and CPN_I have identical ID's. My new DB doesn't allow duplicate records. In order to 'strip' out the unwanted records - I need to enforce a couple of data conditions:
I delete both records for this case only - if qty required =1 and a duplicate record has qty required = 0 then both get deleted. In the above example - records 4 & 5 both get deleted. In all other duplicate record scenarios - I want to keep the record with the highest ECN_02 number. So, records 2 & 3 get deleted because they are duplicate (same PPN_I and CPN_I id's) and their ECN_02 is less than the highest value (4506). If no duplicate record exists - no action taken (records 6,7,8).
So, records 4 & 5 - both get deleted. Records 1,2 & 3 become one record (highest ECN_02) records 1 stays - records 2 & 3 deleted.
8 records become 4.
Any thoughts? How do I 'loop thru the table and identify duplicate records and then enforce some kind of rule?
FOR XML Statement I should use to convert data in the below table to generate xml in the given format? Can it be done with a single statement?
Event | Condition | Group |Item |Answer ======================================= New New GroupA Item1 Y New New GroupA Item2 Y New New GroupA Item3 N New New GroupB Item6 N New New GroupB Item10 Y New New GroupB Item30 N
Slow loading issue with an if statement. In the raw data the field [Location] is a text field e.g. 0010. I have a parameterised query that get a Location_Value from Excel and passes it to the PQ query using:
#"Filtered Rows1" = Table.SelectRows(#"Removed Other Columns", each ([SalesMode] = 0) and ([SalesType] = 0) and ([Location] = Location_Value))
This works fine if you chose a single location. However I wanted to be able to select all locations and text is horrible to work with so in PQ I used the change type function to change the location column into whole numbers. I changed excel to also pass a number as Location_Value. I was therefore surprised when the same query took 2.5 times longer to refresh????
My PQ now looks like this
#"Changed Type" = Table.TransformColumnTypes(#"Removed Other Columns",{{"Location", Int64.Type}}), #"Filtered Rows1" = Table.SelectRows(#"Changed Type", each ([SalesMode] = 0) and ([SalesType] = 0) and ([Location] = Location_Value))
I'm wondering if I need to do something to the ([Location] = Location_Value) bit as maybe it still thinks [Loation] is text and it is trying to compare it to a number. I st assumed the step above meant that [Location] was now a number, but maybe you still have wrap it with some kind of VALUES or TEXT function?
I have been struggling with the below transact sql user defined function. I want to use a transact sql variable in an "in" statement. I don't get any results and I am not sure if I am receiving an error or not.
Code:
DECLARE @myval varchar(50),@username varchar(50) DECLARE @rolelist varchar(2000) SET @rolelist = '' SET @myval = 'user a,user b' select @myval = ''''+ replace(@myval,',',''',''') + '''' print @myval
DECLARE User_Cursor CURSOR FOR select distinct eusername from euser where eusername in (@myval)
OPEN User_Cursor
FETCH NEXT FROM User_Cursor INTO @username
SET @myval = @username SET @rolelist = @username WHILE @@FETCH_STATUS = 0 BEGIN SET @rolelist =+ @rolelist + ',' + @username
FETCH NEXT FROM User_Cursor INTO @username END CLOSE User_Cursor DEALLOCATE User_Cursor print @myval print 'rolelist' + @rolelist GO
I am at a loss any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I've been beating my head against this for a bit and haven't been able to figure this out I want to pull 1 set of values between a date time range if @Report = '1' but if @Report = 2 or 3 I want it to drop 3 of the parameters so it will pull all items. by dropping the where parameters for @BeginRangeDate and @LookOutDate and L.COLineStatus. My report works great if I go in and run Report 1 with the date parameters in the where statement and also works great for Reports 2, 3 if I REM out those 3 items in the Where statement. Here is what I currently have
I've always been mistified why you can't use a column alias in the group byclause (i.e. you have to re-iterate the entire expression in the group byclause after having already done it once in the select statement). I'mmostly a SQL hobbiest, so it's possible that I am not doing this in the mostefficient manner. Anyone care to comment on this with relation to thefollowing example (is there a way to acheive this without re-stating theentire CASE statement again in the Group By clause?):Select 'Age' =CaseWHEN(SubmittedOn >= DATEADD(dd, - 30, GETDATE())) AND (SubmittedOn <=DATEADD(dd, - 0, GETDATE()))THEN '0-30 Days Old'WHEN(SubmittedOn >= DATEADD(dd, - 60, GETDATE())) AND (SubmittedOn <=DATEADD(dd, - 31, GETDATE())) Then '31-60 Days Old'WHEN(SubmittedOn >= DATEADD(dd, - 90, GETDATE())) AND (SubmittedOn <=DATEADD(dd, - 61, GETDATE())) Then '61-90 Days Old'WHEN(SubmittedOn <= DATEADD(dd, - 91, GETDATE())) THEN '91+ Days Old'ELSE cast(SubmittedOn as varchar(22))end,max(SubmittedOn), COUNT(SCRID) AS NbrSCRsFrom SCRViewWHERE(StatusSort < 90) ANDCustomerID = 8 andUserID = 133group byCaseWHEN(SubmittedOn >= DATEADD(dd, - 30, GETDATE())) AND (SubmittedOn <=DATEADD(dd, - 0, GETDATE()))THEN '0-30 Days Old'WHEN(SubmittedOn >= DATEADD(dd, - 60, GETDATE())) AND (SubmittedOn <=DATEADD(dd, - 31, GETDATE())) Then '31-60 Days Old'WHEN(SubmittedOn >= DATEADD(dd, - 90, GETDATE())) AND (SubmittedOn <=DATEADD(dd, - 61, GETDATE())) Then '61-90 Days Old'WHEN(SubmittedOn <= DATEADD(dd, - 91, GETDATE())) THEN '91+ Days Old'ELSE cast(SubmittedOn as varchar(22))endOrder by max(submittedon) descThanks,Chad
I have a stored procedure that runs (SQL Server 2012 (SP1) Standard Ed) daily and I never had any problem with this stored procedure. However, there is MERGE statement on the stored procedure and I see an error saying that the MERGE statement failed..Here are the stored procedure and error message:
-- FlushQueue CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[FlushQueue] (@RowCount as int = 10000) AS BEGIN SET NOCOUNT ON; SET XACT_ABORT ON;
[code]....
The MERGE statement attempted to UPDATE or DELETE the same row more than once. This happens when a target row matches more than one source row. A MERGE statement cannot UPDATE/DELETE the same row of the target table multiple times. Refine the ON clause to ensure a target row matches at most one source row, or use the GROUP BY clause to group the source rows. [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 8672). The step failed.
