Feb 23, 2016I originally wanted to completely disable the UAC as the admin permission messages that popped for almost any/everything i wanted to do were very annoying. I dont remember exactly what i did, but it was something in gpedit or something similar to it. After i did that my windows store app stopped working, and appeared as a blank space in my task bar as it was still pinned there. As the store wasnt working, apps related to it like the calculator disappeared from my pc. They dont appear when i search for them, and links to DL ones from the store dont work either.
I tried the guide here Apps - Reinstall and Re-register in Windows 8 and 10 - Windows 10 Forums and did step 2, but that managed to break powershell and make it disappear as well as disabling my task bar and start menu. I cant right click anything in my task bar, and can only use the start menu's right click menu.

Sep 14, 2015A bit of background info: I have installed Windows 10 about 5 times.
The first 4 it would only work until the first reboot because during the setup phase it would automatically install a faulty driver and on the first available restart my Windows would break and I would have to reinstall to get the laptop working again. However all metro apps worked fine before the first reboot.
The 5th time I switched my internet off and window 10 setup finished without internet. That means the faulty driver didn't automatically get installed so I had a chance to switch off the automatic driver installation. However it also meant Windows 10 didn't get activated during the setup phase. I switched internet on, activated Windows 10. Now my computer works fine but all Metro apps are greyed out and not working. For some of them the application crashes and others give me the error "This app can't open". I tried all obvious solutions
sfc /scannow and the DISM commandReinstalling them using: Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)AppXManifest.xml"}Reinstalling them using PowershellStarting the Application Identity and App Readiness Services and a couple of other random suggestions I saw online. For me nothing has worked. I tried digging deeper and looking at the event logs the error message when trying to open the store is:

Apps :: Store Not Working
Oct 26, 2015Earlier, I went onto the app store to download a new game, but there wasn't any install button. Additionally, those spinning dots just stayed on the page not going away, even when I went back to the main page. I restarted my computer, but to no avail. I logged out on the store, but now I get an error whenever I try to log back in.
EDIT: This happens for every app and game, not just the one I'm trying to download.
Some Core Apps Like Store Is Not Working
Jan 11, 2016I am experiencing issues with some core apps alike store, calculator, contacts etc. The live tile is showing these apps with title like @{Microsoft. WindowsStore_2015.... etc. I tried to reinstall the apps via admin powershell but it stops with error

App Store Missing And Other Apps Not Working
Oct 27, 2015After downloading Windows 10, thing worked well for a few weeks. After trying to download "Windows Essentials", my entire system has been in disarray. I went back to a previous version of Windows 10 before the corruption, but now NONE of my native Windows10 apps will open. I receive the following error: "There's a problem with (whichever app). Contact your system administrator about repairing or reinstalling it."The PC App Store icon is gone completely (as is the Microsoft Edge app and icon), and when trying to open it through "Search", I receive the following error: "Problem With Shortcut: The drive or network connection that the shortcut 'PC App Store.lnk' refers to is unavailable. Sep 12, 2015I cannot install anything from Windows Store. It will down load normally & then fail with error 80073DOA. Updates to Apps also fail to install with the same error. I have run wreset ( several times) but still no joy. Date & Time Zone are correct.
Windows Firewall must be enabled to allow the Store to Update & Install!
Found this by accident. I was running the Firewall that came with Norton Security. Why this is a requirement I don't know. Disabling the Norton Firewall was easy but there was no option to turn the windows Firewall back on as Norton had taken over so I went into Services & did it from there. All working fine now ))

Jan 25, 2016TI had a problem with Windows store not working or edge not launching on my PC etc etc what is the best method to try and fix without draconian measures? if something went wrong I would want to try and restore functionality with as little requirement to go back and re install stuff as possible. I'd look to a measure that leaves user accounts intact and things like iTunes, steam, all my games, game clients, office 2016 all still installed and not removed. To lose all of that just to try and get the store or edge back and running seems too severe. It would take many, many hours perhaps days to get back to where I was. Especially would be nervous about iTunes which with its connection to iCloud music library would be disastrous to unsettle. I have my boot SSD drive and a larger secondary mechanical hard drive. All my software is installed across both locations although the steam library resides on the secondary given the colossal game install sizes we have nowadays.

Dec 3, 2015All Windows Store apps that I have fail when they are automatically updated. Here's what I just got in my event log.
Event ID 20 - Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070002: OneNote.
When I go into the Store and look at the update it shows the update as having had a problem. I can click on the spinner icon which downloads and installs the app so all is not lost.
I don't have any other problems with Windows Update. Other than Store apps they all automatically install just fine. I've seen lots of various solutions for WU problems but I haven't found one specifically for Windows Store updates. I'm hesitant to try one of these solutions since WU works fine except for Store apps as I mentioned.

Mar 5, 2016So, a few weeks ago, I started playing Rise of the Tomb Raider on Steam and every time I would exit the game my volume icon and my start button became unclickable. I searched the web for a solution and found a PowerShell solution. It worked, but it only fixed the problem until I decided to play again.
A few days ago, I went to open up my camera app and a screen would open up for 1 second and close. It also happened when I tried to open up the Windows Store.

I've tried everything except system restores. I never set up restore points and that's my fault. I really don't want to spend hours downloading all my games and programs again. I also don't want to spend money on a external hard drive to make backups of everything. If I have to, I will. Hopefully there is a quicker and easier fix. I don't understand why there just isn't a uninstall and reinstall option for the Windows Store.

Aug 15, 2015So you know how it's possible to move your shortcuts into folders and rename said folders on regular "desktop" apps? Is this possible with Windows Store "Metro" apps as well?
What I'd really like to do, for example, is have a folder called "Games" where I put all of the games I've gotten from the store. Similar to how Office 2013 is its own folder and you don't HAVE to have Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc on their own in the start menu.
However, opening up the Explorer folder with the Start Menu only shows my "desktop apps" plus a couple choice Metro apps (like Settings)... none of the others.

I have tried to follow most of the methods provided online including the troubleshoot step but to no avail. The troubleshoot simply couldn't find any issues to solve. Nov 26, 2015It seems that whenever the Windows Store became available I've always gotten Event ID's 69 similar to the one below. The app changes. It usually happens about 15 minutes I first cold boot my machine. Sometimes after installing a Store app.
Failed with 0x490 modifying AppModel Runtime status for package Microsoft.WindowsCalculator_10.1511.60020.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe for user DESKTOP-JJKSIHMgarys (current status = 0x0, desired status = 0x20).
It has occurred on Windows 8.x and Windows 10. On different machines too. Even with a clean install. It never seems to affect the application mentioned. I assume it's part of the Store updating procedure.
What exactly this error means? Seems to be another permissions problem which Windows has always had since 8.x.

Oct 11, 2015My Windows store stopped working and I tried everything to make it work again until finally I decided to delete it via PowerShell with the command:
Get-AppxPackage *windowsstore* | Remove-AppxPackage
Now it's completely gone and I can't find a way to reinstall it. There is no available download online. I tried using Add-AppxPackage -register "C:Program FilesWindowsApps<PackageFullName>" -DisableDevelopmentMode command, but it seems that the files are completely wiped out.

Dec 14, 2015I have been facing issue with latest windows 10 mandatory update which i had to do on 10 Nov. Not sure which version that was. After that update which took around 2 hours, I got the screen flashing issue which got resolved after deselecting the windows error reporting and problem reporting services.
Then started to face the issue that png/jpeg files were not opening in windows photo viewer app. Getting error, "cannot open because the app is updating." To resolve this I did the powershell command to remove the restrictions. After that I saw that the windows store icon totally dissappeared from the status bar. When I type store in cortana I get :

Sep 11, 2015I cant seem to get my Windows store to open. My install is about a day old, and was a clean install. When I click the store icon I get a brief view of it loading and then it disappears.
I've tried going to my app data and deleting the windows store files.
I've gone into command prompt and tried resetting the store and it doesn't work.
Tried WSReset.exe and the store pop up and disappear again.

First of all

Looked all over the Internet. Finally fixed it.
Then started getting error 0x80070005. And no matter what it couldn't be fixed. So I decided to uninstall Store using 10AppsManager and I also deleted all Microsoft.WindowsStore packagefamily folders.
I tried every solution available on Internet but none worked. This was one of them Restore and reinstall Windows Store in Windows 10 after removing with PowerShell.
I don't want to do a system rest as it'll result in losing all my programs I had installed since Windows 8. Never did a reset.

Nov 10, 2015So its been some weeks maybe my store application wont launch, when I open it, it shows the splash screen then suddenly closed itself without any error code or something. I've tried to clear LocalCache folder, Powershell command didn't solve my problem, even wsreset.exe returns error popup "ms-windows-storePurgeCaches the application cannot be started. Try reinstalling the application to fing the problem". And now the store and other metro application's tile like photos are grayed with exclamation mark.
