I just bought a custom rig and the BSOD keep popping out every now and then. The BSOD are different every time.
Other than that, I noticed that Firefox and Origin program keep crashing as well....

Have had home builds for years with no big issues before windows 8.1 and now windows 10. I thought i had issues with memory or graphic card on my previous computer so i ended up buying new parts for a new build.
But nothing changed. Not so frequent as before but up to several times a day my computers gets an BSOD. I must say it is random for me what i am doing while this happens.
Different messages before restarting. The 2 last one while trying to create this thread and making the dump zip file was Kernel check failure and DPC watchdog violation.

So, new computer, was using Windows 7 and getting BSODs constantly. So I decided to make a clean install with Windows 10 and thought the issue was resolved, clearly not the case.
I will be uploading the last mini dump, but let me already tell you that more than one error code happened (more than one BSOD).
I used the forum's guide to collect the mini dump information. The dump archives I got from the Windows folder are huge, I guess we are not going to use that, am I right?
I am suspecting it to be some Hard Disk issue or RAM memory. One of the messages I could capture was "Kmode_Exception_Not_Handled".

I upgraded recently to Windows 10, my computer has always had some random BSOD problems but now it's definitely worse, it used to be only while watching videos (on windows media player) then occasionally on gaming,
Now it even happens while browsing and the errors vary from one type to the other, no real constant. I read a bit online and I tried doing a verifier check but my CPU went into a blue screen bootloop so that didn't really solve my problem (had to reopen in safe mode and undo the colossal mess that was)
Not sure where else to go from there. I followed the guidelines and have uploaded a zip of the debug log, I sure hope that will give a good starting point...
so I bought and upgraded to windows 10 today. All day long, at random intervals, I have a CMD window opening up and closing itself almost instantly with about 6 lines of text.
Unfortunately it happens so fast that I can't catch a glimpse of what it's really doing. Are there any methods of disabling CMD from being launched(i doubt it but hey) or is there any way to figure out which process is causing this? any log file I can check?
It's incredibly frustrating because it minimizes whatever I'm doing.

So i did a BIOS Update on my Msi Mobo. I Have an Activate Windows Watermark on the bottom right corner. But it only just came up randomly after the pc being online and on desktop for 4-5 hours. But if i would to restart my pc my windows would be activated when i first start upp but if i stay online and keep pc online on desktop the activate windows will pop upp again. My key works if I am starting windows with it activated.
Updated 2-3 hour later. So i restart pc the minute i posted this and got into windows and the activate windows wasn't there. But after playing The Division for like 2-3 hours the windows activate came across my screen. And i look up error and theres nothing on google.

I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 home last week. However, today, while I was playing with my PS4, my PC randomly got 2 BSOD with in 3 minutes time frame. I was not using my PC. It was turned on, idling. After the first BSOD, the PC restarted and within 3 min another BSOD.I ran Memtest and Prime95, and played GTA 5 without any failures.

Okay so i have download threw windows installer, it gets to about 60% on the install (its in the installer not windows update)and gives me an error message (i have not been quick enough to catch it yet) and then reverts right back to windows 8.1. Then MAKES ME re download windows 10 AGAIN!! I am going to try to catch the error the next time, but crashing during install and then reverting back to 8.1 just to redownload it.
Also according to windows update it has failed to install 16 times!!!
I've experienced multiple BSOD's in a while now. It occurs several times every day. I thought it was an issue with my graphics card, since it often occured using Adobe Illustrator and other GPU needing applications. Today I replaced my graphics card and I got a BSOD a few minutes later.

First off my windows 10 install worked fine for about a month and then all of a sudden I have been experiencing 2 to 3 ramdom crashes and reboots. There is no BSOD, the computer just simply turns off and reboots, even though I have set the advanced settings not to automatically shut down on error. I have also updated to the latest BIOS ....

I have disconnected all usb devices but this is still happening. What is strange that it just started out of the blue. Before i just do a fresh install, any diagnostic approaches?
As you could see the file which cause the bug is not very current (appid.sys), so i think it's not the real culprit... Of course i've tested memory, ssd, virus, before post here. I've also bought who crashed pro for analyse the dump and installed windbg but for the first, no essential information and for the second i don't have all knowledge for exploiting this tool throughly... View 3 RepliesI recently managed to get a cryptowall/cryptolocker virus. I wiped everything, formatted c: and reinstalled windows 7 home premium. Was getting constant, seemingly random BSODs 10+ times daily. Tried a bunch of things, didn't work, so recently upgraded to windows 10. The BSOD's are a lot rarer but still occur at annoying times.
I've had the PC for nearly 3 years now. Prior to the reinstalls there was never 1 BSOD and the machine would stay stable for weeks on end without a restart or issue.
WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR - Dumps and specs below. My system temps seem to be fine so I don't think high temps to be a root cause.
View 4 RepliesSo every day i get this blue screen error 3 times a day, my pc started doing this 2 weeks ago, never did it on windows 8.1 and was fine on 10 for a while. Googled it and says its a cpu voltage error, but i have reset my UEFI to defaults, updated UEFI, updated drivers , and nothing works. My CPU is the intel i7 4790k and the motherboard is an Asrock Z97X killer. The interesting thing is my laptop does the same thing and so does my friends all in one pc, so is this a windows 10 issue? and is there a fix?

Using as an IT support/general office machine. Get BSOD 4-6 times daily.
As yet to determine what is causing. Have been removing software after each BSOD.

I have reserved my copy of Windows 10 and have attempted five times to upgrade but it just keeps failing.
The error code is: 80240020.
I have made sure that my laptop meets the specification, which is does, and also the disk space on my harddrive too.
I got multiple times BSOD with info Kernel Security Check Failure. I work on laptop with additional usb mouse, usb keyboard, usb cooling pad and second display. I noticed that if I have connected my second display than Windows fall in random time (often after waking up). I saw into records in Event Viewer and there are pack of critical events and all about Kernel-Power (Event ID 41). After disconnected second display it seems to be ok. Second display is LG Flatron L1972H. What can I do with it.

View 3 RepliesAfter upgrading to Windows 10 I've gotten blue screen'd at random times. At first I kept getting them whenever I would plug in my laptop to an outlet, or close it, unplug it, open it back up. One other time I was using my laptop and the power just cut out. No blue screen or anything, just cut to black.
Each time it seems to be Kernel Security Check Failure, I think there may have been one more but I'm honestly not sure. another happens when my computer is on but not plugged in, it gives me Attempted Switch From DPC when I plug the charger in (just happened).
The most recent one (today, right before posting this) I had Android Studio downloading the android SDK, Firefox browsing the internet, and a few other programs doing nothing right before I again got a blue screen with Kernel Security Check Failure. My laptop is plugged in and has been for a while, and I'm tired of these crashes.
Currently I am considering going back to Windows 8.1 just to have some much needed stability.

My PC crahes and BSOD at randowm times, no pattern to it really.
I also sometimes have problems booting the pc, it just hangs on a black screen and will only eventually boot if i turn it off and back on.

My keyboard suddenly types whatever it wants instead of the letters I actually type. My onscreen keyboard still works.

View 1 RepliesIt's extremely difficult to assign default programs (either no option for "default" or it just doesn't take my choice) for different media, but once assigned, Win10 later forgets the default program and opens it with another.I have assigned all audio file types (mp3, wav, m3u etc.) to open with Winamp. I've done this by manually assigning a default program for every single file type in "Control Panel - Default Programs - Associate a file type...", because every other option failed.
Later, after a reboot, it still shows "Winamp" in the list of file types. But Win10 now opens m3u-files with VLC player! I'm going hardcore, with registry keys etc - only need the info. some file types are not listed under "Control Panel - Default Programs - Associate a file type...". How can i assign these missing file types to a program?
