Aug 22, 2015I have a problem with windows system image backup. My OEM windows 8.1 was installed on normal HDD with mbr partition config. so i bought an SDD make an image back up from my drive c. and then use windows DVD to recover(install) the image on new SDD.
Now after i upgrade to windows 10 i learned that i could change mbr to GPT and use EFi boot instead on using old legacy boot option. Now after doing all these without reinstalling windows(cause I cannot go back to win 8.1 anymore)
I decided to make a image back from windows 10 so i can restore to it in future. The problem is every time windows tries to make an image, when it start to make an image from EFI partition it ran into this error : (the specified backup disk cannot be found) 0x807800c5

fsutil usn deletejornal /n/d f:) run image again..
click start buton the search it "services" click microsoft shadow copy provider" right click properties then change disable to automatic, click apply.

Aug 13, 2015Just upgraded from windows 7 pro to windows 10 Pro.
The upgrade appears to have gone well except for the error which I will describe below.
The symptoms: When attempting to install any software which requires administrator privileges, I am getting one of two errors.
More specifically, I was attempting to install "Speccy" to get more information about my hardware. I double clicked the installer and immediately received the following error: [URL] ....
I attempted a reboot, and then after that, I did a disk cleanup and basically checked everything including the previous versions of windows. Then I rebooted again and have still received the same error.
Now when attempting to install some other software I have either received the error I show above, OR I will sometimes get the following error: [URL] ....
I have done a bunch of googling and have found zero information about those errors or how to fix them, besides "reinstall windows" ...
I REALLY don't want to re-install windows, and would like to fix this problem without wiping out my current installation.

After loading the RAID driver Macrium SEES all the HDD's and can select images etc.
However when TARGET destination is chosen No HDD's are seen. !!!
Need fixing this --otherwise this backup software becomes USELESS !!!!.

Oct 9, 2015I have been facing the File System error (-2143326205) ever since I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.
Error description: All Windows Store Apps (Metro/modern/whatever they are called now) crash when I am not online. The Photos app is by far the only app that has given me an error dialog box. I can assume that all apps are crashing for the same reason because all of them start working again when I get back online.
I am not a great fan of these modern apps and the user interface clutter caused by them and hardly use them. But there are some games like Minesweeper that I want to play when I am on the go. I dunno why Microsoft even made calc a modern app (can't even multiply big numbers when not connected).
So far, I have not been able to find a proper solution to this problem. I guess it is a problem in Windows 10 itself and it will take a while for Microsoft to set it right. But I have an idea. Is there any software that creates a fake internet adapter that is always connected to the internet so that the apps think that I am online and don't crash? Is there an actual working solution?
Do Not Recognize The Image System In A Backup
Oct 26, 2015I had updated windows 7 home premium to windows 10 then when the update was complete I created a backup image of the whole system.... and saved in an external HD. then my fixed disk died, replaced by a new fixed HD I can not recover the backed up windows ten image from my external HD ... is that due that when replaced the new HD I am contrived to recover the system with windows 7 home premium and windows 7 do not recognize the backed image of windows 10?

Apr 1, 2016I recently purchased a Lenovo 900 ultrabook, and proceeded to upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro (using a Windows 7 Ultimate product key). Now that I have done this the factory "restore" does not include my upgrade and I am concerned that I would lose it if I ever needed to restore.
So, I am trying to do a full system image backup to a flash drive, but Windows 10 says that the drive is not allowed for this. I can create the USB drive as a network share and get the backup to work using that method, but I don't really trust that it will work properly.
How to do a full system image backup to a USB drive in Windows 10 that you trust will work in the case a restore is needed?

The last time I partitioned a hard drive was Windows XP to dual-boot two operating systems. I'd like to partition the hard drive on my laptop in order to save a backup of my system onto it, as I don't have an external drive right now. Any detailed, step by step process to partition my hard drive and then back up my system onto it? I have 350GB of free space.

Jan 28, 2016I just bought a WD My Passport Ultra and it comes with a copy of WD Backup. Never using backup software I decided to give it a try and see what happens. I had no problems at all until I ended up with a message "These files failed to back up: UPPS.bin, 15.77kb". so I decided to try and find the file, which I found. The question is, what this file does and is it necessary to backup? Probably most of you know where this file is but for those who don't you can find the file at: C:UsersUser NameAppDataLocalMicrosoftWindowsUPPSUPPS.bin.

Jan 26, 2016I am trying to backup my data (not a system image) to an external hard drive Although I have succeeded in backing files up the system does not work automatically (as it implies it will) and the only work around seems to be to select an alternative drive each time.
In addition if I use File History to attempt a backup the system appears to write to the external hard drive but nothing gets recorded. There is sufficient space for the data (12GB - hard drive total size 120GB) so I do not think it is lack of space.

Now I understand what compressed and encrypted mean and the location is not those, but sparse?

Nov 13, 2015I am getting a low disk space message from my system backup drive. It's 1 TB and it is full. There are not any files that I can delete. They are all system files.
Two questions:
1. Why is it so large?
2. Can I install a new larger drive and have it move the system files there?
