For a while now I haven't been able to download any attachments in the mail app. Also my webmail now says, outlook (preview). So I'm not sure if that is a factor. Also the email is a hotmail.

Using Gmail with Windows10 mail client, attachments take very long time to download. Using gmail directly they download quickly. Appears problem is with Windows 10.

View 1 RepliesWhen I reply to an email, Mail keeps adding spurious PNG files to my messages. They definitely aren't there when I hit "send" or when they're in my outbox, but they are attached to the mail before the recipient gets it. Sometimes I see them in my "Sent" file, but not always; usually the recipient cannot open them and often I cannot do so either, but when I can open them they seem to show a graphic related to the business of the original sender of the mail that I am replying to (it doesn't happen if I start a new mail instead of replying to one)
View 3 RepliesWindows 10 download has been trying to update and failed at least 25 times, same error 80240020.
I have tried deleting files in the C;/windows/softwaredistribution/download and running wuauclt.exe/updatenow but no luck.
Download got to around 75% last night and failed.
I have two computers my laptop has updated to windows 10 with the automatic upgrade with no problems.
But my PC will not start the upgrade I was told to look in the temp folder $Windows.~BT.
The size of this folder was 5.88 GB. And had been like that for a couple of days.
After reading on [URL] .... It said that the upgrade might be corrupt I followed the advice and went to (Windows/ Software Distribution/ Download) and deleted everything in that folder. Then I ran the command prompt as an administrator. Type in "wuauclt.exe /updatenow".en as advised on the website.
Almost straight away the windows upgrade started again but it has gone back to the 5.88 Gb and stopped again
Looking at windows update and view update history I see there are 6 failed attempts to upgrade to windows 10 all with Error details code 80240020....
My SSD only has 1GB of space left, but Microsoft keeps downloading its filth onto this drive, and soon it reaches to limit (I now only have 25 mb left) and notifies me that there's not enough space left for download & installation. But after I allocate the download to the D drive, the crap it downloaded earlier are still in the C drive, taking up all the space. How can I remove these things that I know Windows is not gonna use since it's now redownloading them to the D drive?

View 1 RepliesI just switched to the new mail app mostly because i want calendar, contacts and email shared across multiple computers and devices. Calendar and contacts seems to be shared fine but I have a cableone.net email and a gmail account. My new mail downloads fine but older mail and none of my folders in outside accounts show up. I have played with the sync settings...started at one week and moved out from there but old mail and folders do not download.

When I searched it advised to open the FILE TAB, under printer CLICK PRINT OPTIONS, in the print dialog box select PRINT ATTACHED FILES BOX...
I only know of one file tab and I cannot access it from my email.
Ever since I upgraded to Windows 10, I have been unable to send email attachments with Outlook. The steps for selecting the file to be attached are clear and I have followed them repeatedly, but no file is ever attached to my email. This is, as you can imagine, EXTREMELY frustrating.

Did not have issue with 8.1 or previous W/7 Home Premium.
Today in emails, when opening up links to documents, the document pages come up empty, without any words but with the lines, boxes and formatting and logo at top of page. What is being blocked here and what have I accidentally clicked on to disallow these to come through? Do I go into settings and look for something specific? I am in the dark here. Just happened today, fine yesterday. Windows 10, Gmail used.
View 3 RepliesUpgraded both our Desktop & Laptop to Windows 10 in the past few months. Last week I tried to access some Outlook emails that were more than two years old, the attachments & emoticons do not appear. This is on both PC's & the same result using Edge, IE or Chrome.
I installed Windows Live Mail & now I can see all the attachments & emoticons. Forwarded some of the emails from Live Mail to myself & now in Outlook the attachments/emoticons all appear as well (all three browser Edge, IE & Chrome). So say for instance I have a 2 & 1/2 year old email in a Outlook folder that will not display attachments/emoticons but the very same email just forwarded from Live Mail to my Outlook inbox now displays all attachments & emoticons
Tried inspecting elements. See msgs regarding HTML, Java Script in Edge? Don't have either Java or Silverlight installed, guess the newer browsers are moving towards HTML.

I have backup copies of my windows mail files on a portable hdd (JRS, Text docs, XML and PAT files) These were created on my old Vista PC. I am now using a new PC with Windows 10 and would like to import them. I have no way of exporting them to create a CSV file. How do I go about this?
