Drivers/Hardware :: Volume Icon Not Appearing In Taskbar

Sep 5, 2015

Sometimes when I restart my PC the volume button doesn't show up in the Task-bar. Some days its there and its fine but other days I cant seem to locate it and going in and manually disabling it and re-enabling it does nothing. The pictures below show my task-bar without an icon and the next picture shows that its on, I have switched it on and off and it does not appear.

Drivers/Hardware :: Devices Icon Vanished From Taskbar

Oct 8, 2015

My Taskbar no longer has the devices icon, the one which allows you to 'safely remove a device' such as a USB drive. What happened to it. I hoped re-booting might bring it back but it has not. How do I recover it?

Appearing / Disappearing Taskbar And Non0functioning Default Icons

Jan 7, 2016

Windows 10 Home factory installed on a new HP Envy. On boot up, there are times when the taskbar doesn't become populated and the default icons on the right and left don't function. Then there are times when the taskbar icons are populating, but the default icons don't function. And then there are times when all is working properly. I don't know why this happens, but I have noticed this: At night I shut the computer down. This morning when booting up, the computer went very quickly to the initial opening screen. Clicking on this screen then opens the password screen, and after entering the pw, windows opens fully but without a populated taskbar or functioning default icons. I then restarted the computer, but this time the boot-up took a longer time. The HP logo appeared with the "circling" icon, then there was the blue screen with the "circling" icon and finally the opening screen that needs to be clicked to then open the password screen. Entered the pw and the windows screen opened with a fully populated taskbar and functioning default icons.

Volume Icon Was Missing - Audio Service Is Not Running

Feb 3, 2016

I have never seen anything like this. I noticed the volume icon was missing so I went to go activate it, but the icons are all switched around. It also says "Audio Service is not running" but I checked under "services" and it clearly is (and I can hear audio!). I even restarted it to be sure.

Here are a few examples: [URL] ....

OneDrive Icon On Taskbar Instead Of Hidden Icon

Aug 3, 2015

Currently, my OneDrive icon is sitting in the 'hidden icons' section. I have seen pictures of the icon sitting on the taskbar next to Edge, the store, and all the other taskbar icons... how do you get that icon on the taskbar? I have tried all the normal ways I can think of (click and drag onto taskbar, going into taskbar settings, etc) but I can't get it to be removed from the hidden icons area.

Drivers/Hardware :: Hard Drive Not Appearing In BIOS After PC Upgrade

Nov 18, 2015

I just did a complete upgrade of my PC replacing motherboard, video card, processor and power supply but keeping original hard drives. I did a fresh install of Windows 7 and then upgraded to Windows 10 soon after completely smoothly with no issues. My boot drive and external survived, but for some reason, even though it was handled with great care, my other SATA hard drive doesn't appear anywhere anymore. I can hear it spin when I boot the PC but it doesn't appear in BIOS or in Disk Management. I changed the cable and the port it was plugged into but no dice.

If it is indeed dead...what are my options in recovering the files? It is essential I get these files back!

It kind of worked on and off when plugged into my brother's PC which uses a different make of motherboard...

Drivers/Hardware :: Volume Changing By Itself

Nov 18, 2015

What the heck is going on with the volume in Windows 10? Randomly, after unpausing the sound, the sound will be incredibly loud. As soon as I adjust the volume (even just pressing the sound increase or decrease button once) the sound volume goes back to being as loud as it should be. It is extremely frustrating when I pause and unpause and then cant hear because I am now deaf.

Drivers/Hardware :: Much Lower Volume Than 7 / 8

Nov 28, 2015

My max (100) volume on Windows 10 is about 40% of what it used to be on previous windows. I can barely hear anything on YouTube. I found about 5-6 topics on google discussing this, but none of the solutions worked. I've tried reinstalling the driver, tried changing the frequencies, nothing works. I have a DELL laptop.

Drivers/Hardware :: Automatic Volume Reduction

Sep 13, 2015

The problem is that the volume of different sources of sound, for example YouTube, gets reduced if I turn another difference source of sound, for example League of Legends. So, once I play League of Legends, my YouTube music gets reduced. If I first run League and THEN YouTube, then YouTube gets reduced, if I first press PLAY on YT and then go to League, my League volume gets reduced.

I don't know what the hell is going on and I hate it. I have Windows 10 Pro and I have tried the "Do Nothing" option at sound settings. I have checked out every single tab on sound settings and nothing works.

This problem started once I installed W10, it worked fine on W7.

Drivers/Hardware :: Adjusting Headphone Volume

Sep 28, 2015

For the first time I used headphones in Windows 10 Pro, and I found the normal Fn-F6 and Fn-F7 that adjust speaker volume do not work to adjust headphone volume - nor does the slider in the task tray. I can go into Control Panel and find the speakers and adjust them, and they are set as default. But it seems to me that in past versions (I came from Windows 7) when headphones were plugged in, the audio slider in task bar adjusted them - when headphones were not plugged in, it adjusted speaker volume. Do I have to go into Control Panel every time I want to tweak headphone volume? What am I missing?
