finally got windows 10 home update on my desktop and when I setup my family members my setup screen was not the same as theirs I was not able to resize my home page app windows or get the tiles to show up on the same screen with my account & apps so I removed the tiles.

However, medium tiles show full content:
So whenever I close all my tabs I have the windows 10 start menu with all the tiles show up, but I want to see my desktop. It switches between them like every week and I have it set to not show in personalization. What to do?
View 2 RepliesToday I installed Windows 10 TP on my old HP Touchsmart tm2 laptop. First it all went well, I was able to log in and search for updates (iso is the first build). But after a few minutes the screen went of for about 3 seconds (black) and came on again only to turn dark again, come back and turn dark again. There it stopped. It's not totally dark, back lighting is still on I think.
It actually felt like the laptop tried to switch to an external monitor 3 times until it finally managed to find one. But there is no external monitor connected! I tried to restart the pc several times but luck. I only get to the windows logo, after that I get a dark screen instead of the login screen. I also tried to actually connect an external monitor via VGA but it shows the same dark on the monitor.
I reinstalled Windows 10 TP and it all went the same way again. When I tried to start in safe mode, I was able to login but couldn't open any apps/programs, not even the start menu. Ctrl+Shift+Esc finally worked and I could then run explorer.exe and get to the control panel. How I can get this laptop to work properly.
After last patch tue, Calendar, mail, alarms/clock will not start, show tiles, but won't start. (Insider 10586). Upgraded my other partition from 10240 to 10586, (NOT insider) all is fine.
View 2 RepliesLast night while exploring windows 10 I clicked on something on the lower right corner of the screen (tablet, maybe?) and my screen switched to 2 large multi squared boxes (Tiles?). I have clicked on everything imaginable but can not get back to the original screen. My taskbar is also missing in action. None of the things I pinned there show up. The windows logo does nothing when clicked nor does the task view button.

View 2 RepliesI recently installed 10 on 2 laptops. Desktop tiles were missing in both. Instead of the expected win 10 start button, my start corner shops the familiar 8 icon. I have tried for days to find a solution online, with zero success.
View 4 RepliesMy home screen is almost static, all of the tiles is static and not live. Only people tile has a little animation and the tile from calendar show some information. All other tiles show the "brand" and work as simple icon.
If I choose someone and turn off the live option and switch back doesn't happen.
In windows 10, you're given the ability to drag the start menu to a larger size and enable a third horizontal row of tiles. Im an insider, and using 10240 (rtm). Even in tablet or full screen mode, still only the two columns.
View 3 RepliesIn upgrading from Windows 7 to 10 all seemed to be working but then the desktop manager starting looping flashing as it tries to install the tiles . Cannot get out of the loop. Have tried restarting but the process repeats - after a number of hours the flashes became less frequent but continue to be about 2 flashes then a pause until it restarts multiple quick flashes . It is reporting windows problems and trying to find a fix I presume but after a week of flashes it continues to be stuck. Can get to the task manager but cannot get into safe mode.
View 1 RepliesThe tiles I've put on the start page for various apps (all resized to small) and arranged in groups are rearranging themselves randomly and resizing to medium each time I reboot. I can't find any reason for this. Also, is it possible to start more than one app at a time using the tiles? I've tried searching here and using Google but nothing at all comes up.. It's a clean install after upgrading.
View 1 RepliesWhere your start screen/menu just crashes or vanishes after a second or two. This only started happening for me now in build 10166, and the menu was behaving beautifully in the earlier build (10162). I am unable to access all apps or customize my tiles. Most of the time it makes is very difficult to actually clck or tap on any of the tiles either to run something.
I've tried to change the configuration between "menu" and "screen" to see if its restricted to one of them, but both of them vanish after a few seconds.
My picture shows up when I logon/off but not at windows startup welcome screen.

With Windows 8, my laptop would display a lock screen everytime I turn the computer on, whether it was from sleep or from being shut down. However, immediately after upgrading, my laptop began to skip the lock screen step. Is there a way to turn it back on?

My computer was set to auto login before I made the switch from windows 8.1 and upgraded to 10 and has been logging in with out my entering password since then just like the way I want it.

I put it in Slideshow with a custom folder where I keep all my wallpapers. is a slideshow lockscreen settings in one side, a normal savescreen setting in another. If I had to set my screen to turn off after a certain time or not. I just want the frickin lockscreen to start whenever, let's say, 30 min have passed. Only thing I get it's my screen turned off.

View 1 RepliesJust installed Windows 10 on my primary laptop and the lock screen is a solid blue (if I change my theme color, the lock screen changes too). However, I have Windows Spotlight turned on. I've tried setting a static picture or slideshow as the background. I also confirmed that the files needed for Windows Spotlight are indeed downloaded onto my computer. It just refuses to change.It's worth noting that on my secondary computer with Windows Insider builds, I have, and have been having, the same problem.

I usually like to have my desktop icons on the toolbar instead of the screen (like to see full theme).
Now the funny thing is that if I decide to show desktop on toolbar sometimes removable drives and even all hard drives will show on desktop toolbar but not on screen.
Here is a pic showing that removable drive is not on desktop.
Now look. If I set desktop to toolbar. Removable drive is there. (Orange circle around it) Some users see all their drives (Fixed and removable) on desktop toolbar but not on screen.
When I start up my computer the lock screen shows 2 accounts. One has just my name, which I am trying to remove because it default tries to log into. The second is my microsoft @live account which Ive used from day one. When I go into accounts it shows I have 1 account on this computer, its the one I use @live to sign in. Really confusing and Im not sure that to do.
View 5 RepliesSo I upgraded to Windows 10 and I was using it and shut down my computer. Now my computer turns on but won't load anything. It shows the windows loading screen for about 5 seconds and then goes blank and sits that way till I turn it off and restart.

View 9 RepliesI regularly use the 24 hour time format for all of my systems. Its not a major issue I have now with Win10, but its annoying a bit.
Before I logon to Windows 10, the default lock screen theme has the time in 12 hour format instead of the 24 hour format.
In Windows, I set everything in 24 hour time. Period. I just don't like 12 hour time.
However, when I sign out or just by locking my screen, it does show the time in 24 hour format.
But when I reboot my system it shows the time in 12 hour format.
