Icons in windows 10 missing their specialized image when application is pinned to the start menu screen. How to solve?
View 1 RepliesAt the far bottom left corner of the desktop resides the Windows 10 logo. It is suppose to open to a menu of 3rd party apps and Windows functions.
When I click the icon with a mouse, the menu screen opens for a split second and the immediately closes. This does not allow me enough time to open any 3rd party program on the menu or to employ any of the listed Windows 10 apps.
This also means that I do not have time to click on restart or power down and must do a hard shut down pressing the power button on the computer case.
I have installed win10 on to my Brothers PC and kept getting the message `Inaccessible Boot Device` and was caught in a loop. I then downloaded the iso file on to a disc and re-installed successfully from there. However when we switch on the PC I get a screen which shows two boxes, One reads Win10 and the other Windows. When I click on Win10 the OS loads. How do I remove the other box?. I have installed Win10 on two other PC`s and have not seen this screen before.
View 3 RepliesAfter a driver (I think one related to Intel graphics, but i am not shure) was unsuccesfully installed, I had a BSOD problem, hard restart, kernel error message (unable to reproduce it afterward). Some applications from taskbar partially work (Office, Skype), some not. I am unable to open the Start menu (but the right click still works). The Edge disapeared, I post from anothe PC. Restarted a few times, tried to restore to a previous backup of drivers - nothing works.
View 1 RepliesWhenever I log-in from hibernate or boot, the start interface shows. I had this enabled in Windows 8.1 (start screen), but now I'm on 10 (no start screen) and it still shows.
There is no option to disable it. Is there a registry key to disable this?
P.S. My start screen is normal, not full screen.
My windows 10 left click menu doesn't bring up the menu tray anymore since after I shut down my system using the alt+f4 combination keys. Likewise, neither the running apps tray nor the network one opens up on left click. I also cannot multitask anymore as I can only open one folder, seeing as the non functionality of the left click options limits my ability to. I've had these exact issues before which forced me to reinstall the OS from scratch. But I can't always install the software as it requires time and some backing up.
View 9 RepliesI went threw all the options I could find. I want the viewer to show pictures like I have them in folder groups not by the date they where downloaded or taking. Is there a way? Its either collection or albums but both are by dates and that not what I want. If not then I will just delete it from the menu.

View 1 RepliesAny of the items under games in this screen shot will not pin to my Start Screen? They will pin to my taskbar though. It's windows 10 Enterprise if that matters. I can right click and select Pin to Start, but nothing happens. Right click again and Pin To Start is still listed as an option, but doesn't do anything?

View 17 RepliesHave been running Windows 10 on a Packard Bell laptop since August and suddenly the login screen password box is disabled on start up. None of the sign in screen options (power options, language, etc.) are enabled. I can't get to any safe mode boot options either so at the moment I'm stuck.
View 3 RepliesWhen I press/click on Start, and then type 'Power' for instance to get PowerShell, I want to right click and Run as administrator. Somehow that is gone. I can only Pin to Start. Did updates, reboots, etc. I cannot even click and drag icons from the Start menu - just has a red X. I had to make a shortcut on the desktop to run PowerShell as an admin. It works on another Windows 10 machine no issues.

Additionally, Start Menu and tray options, such as volume slider and wi-fi menu are not opening anymore. Settings starts, though. View 6 RepliesSo I upgraded to Windows 10 and so far everything seems to be working fine however the one problem I've had is a problem with the icons for Google Chrome and Origin on the start menu. The Chrome icon is really over sized compared to what it should be and is on a black background and the Origin icon has a black background. I've looked everywhere online and can't find a solution, I don't really want to reinstall Google Chrome, I reinstalled origin and it didn't fix it.
