I have been using Outlook for IOS for a few months now. It is by far the best Mobile/Desktop Email Client I have ever used. The Mail app in Windows 10 look very similar but is really lacking the features. Do they intend to bring the apps closer together in functionality? It would be a productivity powerhouse with the addition of the mobile features.
View 4 RepliesI upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 10 on my Toshiba Laptop (Satellite C55t Series - Touchscreen) and had to revert to former as I did not like the windows screen. The Title Bar, Toolbar and others did not have the usual color features.In other words, From Title Bar to Taskbar were all white/gray (or whatever it is). Having been so used to the features of Window 98 to Windows 8, I found it uncomfortable to use it.
View 5 Replies I first upgraded my laptop, in order to test Windows 10 before installing on my desktop. The laptop worked fine, my apps and peripherals still worked, so I went ahead and upgraded my desktop too. Realized that my user profile was corrupted, which resulted in me not being able to access settings, search, start menu, etc.
I've managed to mostly rebuild my original profile, the start button is working and I can search, but none of the "modern" apps show up anywhere - including the Store. On my laptop all this showed up automatically, and seems to be working fine. Search, Task View and Edge are present, but my start menu is a little, er, naked compared to what I'm seeing on my laptop. Do I need to manually download and install Store and get the other apps from there?
I have installed Windows 10 and got all my accounts working in Mail but cannot find my contacts, any button for contacts or any way to import them from Windows Live Mail in Windows 7.

It was working fine after the initial upgrade of Windows 10 to V1511. Hence I cannot run Mail.
I am running Windows 10 Home (32 bit).
Is there a way to recreate the shortcut (if I try shell:appsFolder it does not appear in there)?
Love Windows 10 so far, has exceeded my expectations. Apart from one annoying thing: the language typing features notification. I turned off windows tips in settings a while back and the notification stopped. But now it's back! How to get rid of it once and for all?

However, every now and then a message pops up (from the "Action Centre" just next to the clock) stating "Language typing feature - Install typing features for your language".
I do not want to install any language features, how can I disable this?
Device is a windows 10 surface tablet (LTSB), that was working fine on a domain. Linked to a WSUS and has sccm installed.
I went into windows turn windows features on and off and enabled asp.net 4.5 or was it 4.6 and rebooted, now powershell does not work, certain application that require .net do not load. It complaining that .net is not installed and when I try installing .net 3.5 and even 4.6 ... It says its already installed but turned off in windows features.
Its happened twice now, the first time was when trying to install visual studio community. I got the tablet wiped/reimaged and put back on the corporate network. And Its happened again.
Can't even load gpedit, well it loads but then complains about mmc snap in when going into configuration....
I've done all the dism, sfc/scannow stuff. It came up with corruption but that's all repaired now...

These notifications emanate from the language pack trying to install additional features namely Basic Typing, Handwriting and Speech. The language is the default English US. I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10, and then did a clean install of Windows 10. I'm on a cellular connection, and the option to mark the connection as non-metered is grey'd out, so I cannot change it - but my Windows Update seem to be working just fine.
I see a long list of my windows 7 apps. Some have a size and date and other have the date and the words "unavailable".
What does this mean and if it means I can't run the app, what can I do about it? Do I have to find a Win 10 compatible version?
I recently did a Windows 10 clean install on two laptops, afterward I installed Intel RST on both of them using the executable (not F6 method). In Intel RST under performance features the only feature listed is Link Power Management; Dynamic Storage Accelerator and Smart Response Technology are both missing.The one laptop only has a HDD. The other has a SSD and a HDD in the CD drive bay.How can I get Dynamic Storage Accelerator and Smart Response Technology to show up? If Link Power Management is the only thing available is there any benefit to having Intel RST installed?

View 2 RepliesUp until today's updates Right Click when using Edge had very limited functionality however much to my surprise Right Click options now include Copy, Paste, Copy Link, Copy Picture and Save Picture. Still MIA is Create Shortcut but I won't hold my breath.
View 9 RepliesI installed an application "Clone File Checker" and uninstalled that using "iObit Uninstaller" with Power Unistall" option. After that, i am not able to open Control Panel, Programs & Features, Power Options and System from the Start Menu. Clicking on each of these gives an error in the enclosed screenshots, but all of them display the error message "This file does not have an program associated with it to perform this action. Please install a program, or if one is already installed, create an association in the Defaults Program Control Panel". Only the file names are different. When I try to set the Default Applications, I do get a similar error message.
Moreover, clicking on the File Explorer from the Start Menu opens the Explorer screen, but when I pin to the Taskbar and subsequently attempt to open tit from Task Bar, I get an error message.
So, instead of using my browser for my emails I set them up in Windows Mail, but although it will show all the folders it won't show anything in my inboxes. I've tried syncing but to no avail.

I have backup copies of my windows mail files on a portable hdd (JRS, Text docs, XML and PAT files) These were created on my old Vista PC. I am now using a new PC with Windows 10 and would like to import them. I have no way of exporting them to create a CSV file. How do I go about this?

View 8 RepliesI recently upgraded to windows 10 however after the download some of my programs had disappeared (not all of them). Some of the ones that disappeared included steam, malware bytes and google chrome. Some that stayed included MS office 2013, ccleaner and CPUID. After some research I found a windows.old folder which I assume is a backup of everything that was on W8.1. Something I found very strange was that all of my steam game icons were there however needed redownloading. Is it possible to just copy the whole steam folder from windows.old into the program files folder in windows 10 or will I have to redone load everything again? Could I also do this with any other programs or will they not work and is it recommended to delete windows.old?
View 1 RepliesI have Windows 10 Home and all of my icons have disappeared. I mean not only my desktop ones all of them I will include some screenshots. This happened when I used the Winfix option in the Systemcare 9 Pro app. It told me the I have something wrong with sticky notes, so I just clicked fix then all of my icons just disappeared, and it said the problem was fixed. I have tried running every troubleshooting method in the windows OS and I everything says everything is all fine.
My personal theory is that either there is a setting for this that I can change back or that I have a problem in the registry (I do not back it up frequently sadly so I cannot load a backup) or the problem lies in a corrupted file (I have used sfc /scannow and it says nothing is wrong). I also am unable to access the properties option (Whenever I right click the menu comes up but when I click properties it won't open).
