View 4 RepliesFor some reason iexplore.exe consumes extremely high cpu resources. Only IE and only cpu. I have done a myriad of scans:
Roguekiller
TDSSKiller
ESET
Malwarebytes
Bitdefender
and none indicate a Trojan or rootkit. I have also deactivated most extensions and followed dozens of articles on the net. I know I am supposed to use Edge, but it lacks features that I want and has other limitations that make it cumbersome. Likewise Chrome and other browsers react differently for many of the sites I use.

my system monitor is showing 49% ram usage, and 52% swap usage.why all the swap usage, when there is plenty of ram left?Is this normal? The computer was in sleep. maybe that's connected?
Every 5/10 minutes, my mouse pointer keeps sticking, for around 1 second, then jumps to where it should have been. It's almost as if the pointer isn't actually sticking but the screen isn't updating. This started happening after upgrading to Windows 10.
View 4 RepliesRecently my mouse pointer has been disappearing when the system wakes in Windows 10 Pro. I can still see it highlighting when moving the mouse and the dialog open with a right click. It only comes back if I open the Task Manager or a separate window. Strangely if I manually put the computer to sleep through the power menu this issue does not seem to appear, it only shows when the computer sleeps after the allotted time.
Not sure if this is an issue with Nvidia Drivers or a Windows Update.
Since loading windows 10 then mouse pointer working circle blinks with the can light blinks. Everything seems to work fine it just really bugs me. View 1 RepliesWhen turning on Windows 10 my pointer will not show up for the password phase of startup. If I do get to the desktop, the pointer is either gone or it is frozen. I shut the computer down and after several startups, it will come back on maybe for a few minutes. I have checked the device manager for the mouse. Looked for updated versions. Ran a troubleshooting for it. Nothing says it is wrong. This has only happened with the upgrade to Windows 10. It used to be every so often, now it is daily.
View 1 RepliesThe loading symbol keeps flashing which is effecting what I can do on my computer. For example on Microsoft edge I will be typing and then it will suddenly select the text, so when I do my next letter it deletes everything I have done. It also effects things like drop down menu's or when I left click by going of it so I don't have time to select the option I want.
This does not seem to happen all the time but it currently is and has been since I turned my pc on.
It has only happened since I have downloaded windows 10. I do not have windows 8.1 on my computer as I deleted it so I cant really go back to download it again.
Afther installing the intel chipset driver the pc crashed showed a blue screen with large tex saying that the pc run into a problem and is collecting data. Then it turned off and started booting went past the windows booting logo and than showed a black screen with a mouse pointer that constantly changes between loading and busy... you can move the mouse pointer on the black screen and nothing else... View 1 RepliesI just recently installed Windows 10 on my Dell Inspiron Laptop and so far I am not impressed at all - in fact, I am very seriously debating one of two actions - re-install Windows 7 or switching to an entirely different OS.
The reason for reverting to Windows 7/switching OS are as follows:
1) Currently with an idle system (i.e. no applications running at all), an svchost process is using anywhere from 40 to 60% of my cpu. When I did a tasklist on this process the following processes are attached to this one pid: Appinfo, BITS, Browser, DsmSVC, IKEEXT, iphlpsvc, LanmanServer, lfsvc, ProfSvc, Schedule, SENS, ShellHWDetction, Themes, UserMananger, Winmgmt, wuauserv. My question is this - is it necessary for these processes to be run. If they are, then am I looking at only being able to use 50% of my processor (since this one pid is using the rest of it)?
2) For a virus scanner - I am using McAffee and under Windows 7, it took my laptop 24 hours to scan 231 GB of data. Since I switched to Windows 10 (Same hardware, same memory, etc) it now takes my virus scanner over 48 hours to scan 231 GB of data.
3) If I had not been poking around and trying to change my update settings, I would never have found out that Microsoft expects their users to update the windows of the other users (Microsoft calls it Dynamic Updates). Now this is all well and good if some one had said something since I would have loved to know about it sooner since I am on a metered service.
4) Some of the programs that comes with Windows 10, I have no use for but yet I can not un-install them (Cortana come to mind).
5) It appears that even though I have turned off "Live tiles" the tile continue to update from the net (again - it would have been nice to know since I am on a metered service).
The only option that I know of is to revert back to Windows 7 or switch to a new OS.

And well, so far I've tried the ''deactivate 'windows search' and 'superfetch''' and it hasn't really done the trick.
Also I resetted my pc yesterday, as of now I'm running a clean install of Windows 10.
Did the ''turn off notifications from Windows'' and really nothing, I've also defrag quite some times with Defraggler and DiskDefrag and nothing.
Basically I noticed that my PC has a lot of RAM used but no program is using the RAM - see attached screenshots. Obviously it doesnt really affect me until I launch a game: eg GTA 5 which before ran happily at 60 and is now stuck on less than 1 FPS when I get into the game (even after spending like 20 minutes in lag hell to try to reduce all the settings to the lowest).
However Rainbow Six Siege runs at 120 FPS with no issues, so GTA may be an isolated incident.
(Also important to note I only have 8Gb of RAM, even though it says */16.0GB for the committed memory)

I have recently noticed a bit of a performance issue on my HP laptop running Windows 10 Home.
What happens is, if I am not doing anything on the laptop, but am not putting it to sleep (i.e. idling), it stays at a low CPU usage. However, after a while (usually about a minute?), the CPU usage rockets up, and also affects my CPU temperatures (goes up from ~35'C to ~50'C).
The processes that are the culprit, as defined by the detailed tab of Task manager, are either "svchost.exe" or "System" - the latter is described as "NT Kernel and System" and is linked to ntoskrnl.exe.
The laptop came preinstalled with Windows 10 and doesn't have many programs installed.
For some reason my Task manager is showing high cpu usage, and im lagging in some games. This is what it shows when I look into my task manager

I know there is others who have this issue of the flashing blue working circle next to the mouse pointer on the screen. I have read through he forums and tried what I could find but so far no luck getting rid of it.
I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 - on my Asus sonicmaster laptop and now the flashing blue circle constantly shows up in and on and off state. Like it is trying to load or check something. How to get rid of this?
Often when playing games, either in browser or not, the mouse pointer speed will change by itself. I can go into the mouse setup menu and change it back, but sometimes it then changes again. This happened in Win7 also. The touchpad also sometimes just stops working. This didn't happen in Win7. I gotta say Win10 makes some weird changes to things
View 1 RepliesSwitched on a friend's PC today with Windows 10 fully updated (upgraded from Windows 7 around a month ago), and it loads to where the login screen should be ie after the Windows 10 logo etc, but then the screen is blank. There's no mouse pointer, no login screen, and no monitor error (ie there's a source at least).
I've tried booting in safe mode but I get the exact same problem. Also I've tried just typing in the password to see if the login screen has been moved to a non existent monitor, but that doesn't work either.
after upgrading to windows 10 my laptop fan always working fast when i checked this issue, i see runtime broker in task manager with high resourse usage when i click on end task, everything be normal... but runtime broker run itselft immediately ...i googled this issue but i couldn't find a useful solution.
View 4 RepliesSo up until this morning my Windows 10 desktop has been performing really well. When the machine is idle the CPU use is only in the 1-3% range.
For some reason my idle CPU use is now CONSTANTLY 30-40% (even after a reboot)! Task manager says its "Service Host: Local System (15)". If I expand this process in task manager it lists:
Why is this happening all of a sudden? I have all Windows Updates installed and I run an i7-3770 CPU.
My machine is now slow/sluggish with 30-40% being hogged by these services!
I don't have any Malware installed as I run Malwarebytes Premium and the scan comes back clean. Some goes for a full anti virus scan.
After installing Windows 10, I have consistently been getting high memory and cpu usage by both the System and Service Host: Local System processes. Usually the usage keeps rising from 1GB to sometimes 8GB. I left my comp on while I was at the gym today and came home to it prompting me with a low memory available message. This must have shut down some processes because now my pc is running at 13% memory and 2% cpu. I have searched for this issue and found similar threads, but none of the solution work for me.

- HP Pavilion g4
- Intel Core i3 2.2 GHz
- Radeon 6470m (but somehow got 7400 driver and worked) plus Intel HD 3000
- Windows 10 of course
- 2 gigs ram
- And latest drivers, checked with Uniblue's driverscanner and link on other subforum stickies.
It's high memory usage of this process, it starts with ~7mb then grows up to ~200mb on heavy use. This happen with recently windows 10 update.
What I have done is, I do a restart every time I made these changes:
- SFC /scannow
- Update driver (again)
- Turn windows 10 tips off
- Try disable Superfetch
- Malwarebytes scan
- Disabling High Definition Audio driver drops the process usage to normal 28kb, but this somehow rise again to ~100mb.
I just upgraded to TH2 from Win 10 Pro. I noticed that my disk usage is near 99% for the past 20 mins. It keeps fluctuatiing between 10 to 99. Normally my disk usage stays at 0. May be this might be Windows settling in after the upgrade? There was high disk usage the first time around when i upgraded from Win7.
