I cannot find a way to move photos from one of the automatically created albums to another existing album. There seems to be no way to tag them as there was in previous versions. Many of my photos are old family pictures scanned over a period of years. Being automatically placed in albums according to date makes finding them very difficult.
The new Photos app in Windows 10 (while allowing a variety of editing functions), does not allow me to add a caption, i.e., update the Title attribute of a JPEG file. The old Windows Photo Gallery in Windows 7 was very useful in this regard, since I could update a number of the metadata (EXIF) fields.
How can I do this in Windows 10? Has Microsoft just removed this feature? Seems a retrogade step.
I have photo gallery installed with my windows 10, but according to my reserarch, there is also Windows Live Photo Gallery, which has more features.
All I can find is windows live essentials, but when i look at the programs it will install this is not shown...
Has MS renamed Windows Live Photo Gallery and just called it Photo gallery ?
Have a zillion photos to tag and if I use an MS product it will be tagged within the photo unlike Picasa so will be better for my purposes, unless there is an alternative which adopts the MS tagging...
Since updating to windows 10 when I import pictures they go straight into the new photo viewer app but I cant figure out how to get them to my pictures. I am using turbo lister for ebay and I cant find a way to the imported pictures.
My photos from my iphone are being automatically uploaded to my start menu and appearing in the live tile that is available for my photo app in the start menu. I need to know how I can remove the photos and also how I can change my settings so that I can stop sharing my photos to my Win 10 PC. Is this something I need to do in icloud, itunes, or can I adjust the settings in the photo app itself?
I'm using a Sony a3000 camera, although I don't think that's the problem. When I download photos on my old computer, which is still running Windows7, my photos go straight to my default program, PaintshopPro. On my laptop, which has Windows 10, I have set PaintshopPro as the default, but when I connect the camera, I get a pop up to choose the device, either F:/ or PMHOME.
When I choose F:/, I get a pop-up to start importing and it gives me the option where I want to import, but the photos end up in the Photos App in the Collections folder. I don't want to use the Photos app. I want them to go straight into PSP. How do I do that?
For some reason I have lost use of the Edit Photo options. How to get it back? I can open the photos just fine. But when I click on the edit buttons it says "Can't edit. We are having trouble opening this file for editing." I have not change my file types or anything else. Tried several different pictures and it just keep saying the same thing. Was working just fine for the last 2 years.
I am having problems using the default photo viewer in windows 10. For one thing when I download a photo, I am not given any option on where to save the photo. When I get the photo to open, there is a band at the top of the page which covers part of the photo.
I recently upgraded to 10 last week and I noticed that when I am clicking through my picture gallery, it stops at the last photo and doesn't restart from the beginning. In Windows 7 and every other version, you were able to loop through photo galleries.
This isn't a huge deal but I reference my photos a lot when I am doing work on my pc and it's kinda annoying to have to click out of the slide viewer and then scroll back up to the first photo in my folder in order to start over.

After a long struggle to import my pix from the camera to Win10 and finally succeeding, I've now another mystery
1. How to put the imported 10 or so photos into a folder? I did it with another bunch of imported photos and now I can't remember how I did it though I tried and tried..
2. How can I pick out the ones I want to send (and how to send them by email?) as I prefer not to delete the ones I won't send, to avoid later regrets. I don't even know how to delete any individual photos....
MS keeps everything a secret - no links to choose photos, or delete them, or send them, or change the order in which they are arranged, etc. I had come to learn photos in Win7 with "Photo Gallery" after a long time - now I'm condemned to the same torture on the new windows!
Even if I mark an album, say, 'my documents' as a "documents" type folder in my onedrive online settings, these photos will still be included in my 'photos' tab stream. that and, any photo ever that's on my PC will show up- not just photos in my "my photos" folder on my PC. it's really annoying, i'm getting gamesave pictures, wallpapers, screenshots, and all kinds of random crap that aren't supposed to be part of my camera roll stream all over my one drive... why is it doing this?
So I upgraded my Surface Pro 3 to Windows 10 last night and so far quite impressed. However it looks like an issue has carried over from Windows 8.1 to 10.
I'm finding that the Photos app cannot see the photos stored on my SD card. I have directed the library to point to the SD card and it is the only location defined in the Library for Photos. This was a problem in 8.1 but as I never used the app I stopped worrying about trying to sort it. However I can see myself using the app in 10, so would like to figure out what is happening.
It's not a case of the app not showing duplicates because I temporarily disabled the option for it to show OneDrive photos and now nothing shows.
I installed Windows 7 onto my laptop , I then did a free upgrade to Windows 10. I would now like to move this installation to a new PC that I am buying. Can I do this for free? I no longer want the installation on my laptop.
My wife want to move some pics from one of our pc,s to another in another room in house to print.Pics are in another room on laptop which is Windows 10.She wants to move them from there to main pc which is Windows 7.I know nothing about how to do this, and there one pic in there she needs to send to someone.
Okay so I'm going to be building a new PC, but I'm reusing my old motherboard and my old hard drive with Windows 10 on it. I'm going to have a second new hard drive, a new processor, and a new GPU. I'm just wondering if my PC will be able to boot into Windows fine or if I'll have to go through any hoops? Or if I'll run into any trouble with a new graphics card and processor with the old drivers still on the hard drive?
I have an old computer with a bad motherboard that I am thinking about taking the hdd out of and reinstalling it in a new computer and duel booting between win7 and win10, my question is "can it be done"?
I'm running Windows 10 Professional, and have a triple monitor setup. I have two 22" Dell monitors side by side, and I have my 55" Vizio TV mounted on the wall above my monitors. The Dell monitors are connected to my video card via VGA/DVI connections, and the TV is connected via HDMI.
Well, the annoying problem I'm having is that Windows 10 will randomly move my opened windows between monitors, but only when I'm not using the computer. For example, the Dell monitor on the right is my "main" display, where I usually keep my windows open (Chrome, uTorrent, etc.). If I turn off my monitor, later when I come back, I'll find the windows I left open on my left monitor, so I end up having to drag them back over. Another example is when I used Plex Home Theater. I run that program on my Vizio TV at all times. But if I don't close the program before I turn the TV off, it ends up getting moved to my Dell monitor on the left. Also, when I have my TV turned off, and I turn it on, it blacks out both of my Dell monitors for maybe 5 seconds, and during that time it moves whatever windows I had open on my right Dell monitor over to the left one.
I had Windows 8 and Windows 7 on this PC previously, and I never had any of these issues. I have the most current video drivers installed
