I know that you can use Linux to connect to Internet via bluetooth on your Android phone, and it runs smoothly, more less, but Windows seems to be far more problematic when it comes to this. Is there such a possibility? And if so, how?

View 1 RepliesSo I just got a new LG smart TV that has a screen share mode. I wanted to use it but apparently my PC doesn't support miracast.
How do I get miracast support? I'm sure all my drivers are up to date, but i'll check again. Here's my dxdiag, I couldn't get much info from it. I'm not sure why it's not supported, and I don't have much knowledge on the issue.
I can get the TV to show up in Devices under settings, but I can't project to it. Does my second monitor have anything to do with it?
I recently bought a TP LINK TF-3200 card because my Lan port got fried :P. But, it id getting detected but is not working as I am not able to find new drivers for it.
View 8 RepliesI am trying to start a hosted network on my Windows 10 system, but every time I got something like "The group or resource is not in the correct state." I then ran "netsh wlan show driver" and see that it is using a Realtek RTL8723BS driver which says it does not support hosted network. I also don't see any "Microsoft hosted network virtual driver" in my Device Manager, even if I turn on the showing of hidden devices. Does that mean there is no way I can get a hosted network to run on this device? Is there some way I can get the driver to support hosted network? (I already updated to the latest version of the driver and rebooted, and that did not work).
View 9 Repliesso, the same as usual when it comes to my luck: I'm trying to tether my internet connection from my note 5 to my PC via USB, and it doesn't work. here are a few details that I can give you of what occurs when I try to do this:
I plug in my phone via usb, and it recognizes it off the bat.
I go to my settings in android and enable usb tethering.
windows makes the sound that happens when you disconnect a device, then proceeds to slow down. WAY down.
I hover over the network icon in the system tray, and it just shows the line for loading or identifying.
clicking on the icon or trying to open the network and sharing center while I'm in usb tether mode results in nothing.
I did however manage to disable tethering, them open the network and sharing center, then enable my usb tethering. from there, it shows my device in the center, but says that it is disabled.
I right click and select ENABLE, it says "ENABLING", then "ENABLED", but does not actually enable my device.
The Bluetooth icon is on in my Action Center but my computer does not have Bluetooth. This is interfering with my Wi-Fi speed. How do I turn off the icon when I do not even have Bluetooth capability on my computer?

View 2 RepliesJust a quick question as i can't seem to find an answer on the web. I'm on latest November build for W10 Pro and Bluetooth is automatically on with no option to toggle it on or off. I've turned off the Bluetooth services etc but still it won't go off. Bit unsure why it won't go as i have no wireless adapter installed in my PC.

I send multiple files, usually photos, and having to go through all the manual steps for each picture is not working for me. I have Googled this and searched forums to no avail.

View 2 RepliesI have a brand new HP laptop that came with Windows 10 home installed on it. I have downloaded and applied all updates from MS.
I use a Wi-Fi connection to my Time Warner router. I have everything setup and things seem to be running fine.
Here's the deal.
I thought I would try and use my blue tooth external speaker. (Just to see what would happen.) I enabled Bluetooth.
StartSettingsDevicesBluetooth.
After I move the slider (so the status reads (On), .... I see a message that reads "Your PC is searching for and can be discovered by Bluetooth devices".
Two things happen:
The "search" never seems to end. And I lose WI-Fi connectivity.
I finally, move the Bluetooth slider to the "Off" position and my Wi-Fi connectivity returns.
I "do" see my external speaker. And it does work. (As long as "Bluetooth" is enabled.)
But of course, I then have no Internet connectivity and THAT becomes an issue for me.
Most documents I need to print are 20+ pages. How do I print pages in reverse order so I don't have to rearrange everytime?
View 4 RepliesSometimes when i start up in win10 get a black screen, if i pull out charging lead desktop comes up, if plug back in get black screen, so pull out and on desktop go into display with left mouse button, display slider works is working in reverse so set it to darkest which puts screen on brightest, then plug charger in most times this works, Another way that works sometimes is leave charger in use function key and dim button (rh arrow) and screen sometimes shows desktop.

I have just got an Epson 2550 and it's printing the first page first so I need to reorder every document. I did their online chat and they said I needed to change settings in powerpoint/word etc - but I can't find anything.
View 9 RepliesMy local admin account was converted into a Microsoft account , is there a way of reverse it ? Less than one month ago Windows 10 Pro was installed. Let me explain you that there was already a windows 8 installation with kernel corrupted , version 10 recovered all exactly as it was , all programs installed and my configurations.
Previously I had a administrator local account that remained the same after windows 10 installation. It happens that days after I logged in with my Hotmail account to the Microsoft Store to download a couple of items and unbeknownst to me my local admin account was transformed into a Microsoft account.
Now I no longer wish to be logged all the time with this Microsoft account, I even have another admin local account if I want to change but I would have a lot of work to make it look like as it was my original converted account.
In order to avoid such work I ask whether there is a way to convert (let's call this way) the Microsoft account back into my local account or is there a way of copying all the configurations to a new admin local account ?

View 9 RepliesI have recently upgraded to Windows 10 on an eight year old laptop which previously was running Windows 7. Everything appears to have gone well and I am enjoying the new operating system. However, every time I boot up and get to the desktop a small box appears on the screen with the following wording "Warning. The program don't support the project" with an OK button and an X close button. Clicking on either of these closes the box and I simply carry on as normal. What concerns me is the bad grammar "don't support" and I am concerned it might be some sort of malware.

As the windows 10 launch date is ahead, has guys at MS added the option for adding apps to wishlist yet?

View 1 RepliesJust converted my systems to Windows 10. Working well, so far. I would like to install 4TB disks on a couple of the systems and understand that I need to use UEFI. Looks like my ASUS P8Z68-U GEN 3 MB supports UEFI, but I don't understand how to enable it. The other system has ASUS B85M-E mother board. I've seen some one paragraph descriptions, but they don't really walk me through the process.
1 - Can I upgrade my existing system without a complete Windows 10 reinstall? I have lots of apps installed so I'd like to avoid complete system rebuilds.
2 - Due to legacy use of Mirrored drives, I'm using the Intel RAID stuff, although I no longer need it. Will that be a problem? SSD and other disks are JBOD. I'd like to get rid of that, but I think that does require a complete system reinstall since disabling the RAID wipes the disk.
Looking for step by step process to convert a system to UEFI to support 4TB disks?
