I have power settings to shut the screen off after 15 min. and put PC to sleep after 20 min. After returning to the PC after more than 20 minutes the PC won't wake up when I move the mouse or type on the keyboard. How do I wake the PC? This only happened since I installed Windows 10.

Yesterday I downloaded and had a fresh installation of windows 10 (means I have no backup of my previous windows 7). Now since installation, whenever my PC goes to sleep I fail to wake it up by pressing any key on the keyboard or touchpad.
I've tried to find the power management in keyboard settings from the device manager but I failed to find any option there.

Rig only a few weeks old and I noticed for the second time now when my computer is left alone for awhile it acts like it's in sleep mode but mouse and keyboard don't seem to be waking it. I fixed it last time by just restarting computer...
View 1 RepliesOkay so I had this problem in windows 8.1 but fixed it by turning off smart sense which still has the same function in windows 10 but it did not work. I am looking so find solutions online because this problem is really annoying when it comes to games.
View 9 RepliesRecently my mouse pointer has been disappearing when the system wakes in Windows 10 Pro. I can still see it highlighting when moving the mouse and the dialog open with a right click. It only comes back if I open the Task Manager or a separate window. Strangely if I manually put the computer to sleep through the power menu this issue does not seem to appear, it only shows when the computer sleeps after the allotted time.
Not sure if this is an issue with Nvidia Drivers or a Windows Update.
today my desktop went to sleep mode, and i had problems waking it up, i didnt know how to do it.Whats the default way to do this in a desktop pc? And even better if its possible, i would like to be able to wake pc by mouse clicking, is there any posible way to do this?
View 1 RepliesI use left handed mouse, and swapping left / buttons works OK. I also set the wheel button to be "double click". But the wheel button brings up the context menu instead of double click. If I change to right hand mouse, the wheel button gives double click as expected. how to make the wheel button give double click for left hand mouse?

View 4 RepliesOkay, so I take blame for accidentally messing up my Windows 10. My NVIDIA graphics card wasn't working and wasn't letting me install my drivers. Well that aside, now that I installed older Drivers Windows 10 registers something horribly wrong. It wants to do a system repair. Okay, good, fine with me. But then when it gets to the page for me to select a keyboard layout, I have no mouse and my keyboard doesn't work either.
Anytime I press a button on them their backlights turn on, but then turn back off when I don't do anything with them.
I can't afford to get a new OS, I have no DVD Drive so I definitely can't do anything that requires a disk. What do I do?
In the past two days, once I've logged into Windows 10 (successfully with normally-functioning keyboard) I can no longer type anything. The letter keys just produce a click through the speakers. Even stranger, if I hold down a letter key for two clicks then release, it prints the letter. I've tried two different (wireless) keyboards and they both become disabled in the same way. Some of the function keys perform normally. It's just impossible to type. I've never encountered this problem before, and I've been using Windows 10 since the free upgrade earlier this year. I've run a full Windows Defender Scan and also a Malwarebytes Scan.
View 2 RepliesI'm using a tablet for input on my windows 10 desktop pc and while the touch keyboard is invoked fine throughout the system and even Edge, when I try to type stuff in Chrome, nothing happens. I have to manually invoke the keyboard via taskbar icon.
I do have a physical keyboard connected to the pc but as the tablet is placed in front of the keyboard, I want to keep using the touch keyboard. If I remember correctly it worked just fine with windows 8.1.
I am using Windows 10 and would like to use my mouse to wake it up when in sleep mode

View 3 RepliesI've recently had an issue where sometimes on waking my computer the mouse is barely responsive and is super laggy. The cursor will move but really slowly and I am not allowed to click on anything. The keyboard is able to get me through the password screen and navigate responsively. When I go to restart the computer using keyboard commands, the restart logo will spin and spin and spin and I ultimately have to hard shut down. When the computer starts up, everything is fine. I've tried unplugging and re-plugging in the mouse and the mouse completely shuts off and no lights are on.

My only suspect is it's an issue with the Logitech software, but I've never had this happen before and googling hasn't turned up anything similar to what is happening.
I choose SLEEP and my PC goes to sleep, and there is a light on front of my PC Unit that flashes.
But I can't wake Windows 10 up. I tried pressing all buttons on mouse and keyboard, nothing happens ...
I downloaded windows 10 yesterday and everything seemed to be working fine. However, every time I shut my computer, it's supposed to go into sleep mode from which a shake of the mouse will wake it. It is indeed going to sleep, but I can't wake it through any interaction with the mouse or keyboard. The power light is still on, indicating that the computer is sleeping, but I can't get it to wake up. I have had to hold the power button to turn it off and then on and I'm pretty sure that's terrible for my computer to not shut down properly.
View 19 RepliesI recently upgraded Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.0. I have tried reinstalling Synaptics, removing and uninstalling Synaptics, disabling palmcheck, but it wouldn't work. It's annoying when you are playing a game that requires moving while pressing keys on your keyboard. I also have Synaptics 7.5 (19.0.10). The only way I can move my mouse while pressing any key is pressing (any key) + shift.

View 1 RepliesAfter an upgrade to Windows 10, my HP Compaq 6005 Pro Small Form Factor will not wake up properly from sleep. After sleep, if I press a key on the keyboard or press the power button, I hear the fan and hard drive start up, and the monitor goes from completely off to on yet black. (I can see a small difference, and the monitor reports that it receives a signal.) But nothing happens, including when I press various key combinations such as those which would cause rebooting. Sometimes my mouse pointer is visible but usually not. If so, the pointer will not move. If I hold down the power button, killing the power supply, and the press the power button again, the computer wakes up (not rebooting) to the condition it was before.
As a history, this machine had a clean Windows 7 install, then a Windows 10 upgrade, then a Windows 10 clean install.
[I have a vague memory that the computer originally went to sleep and woke up OK a few times, and now doesn't. However, my memory could be wrong.]
I have tried:
* all Windows updates
* using HP website for all relevant updates, including BIOS
* display adapter (graphics card) update
* Windows Power Usage Troubleshooter
* turning hibernation off and on again in the command line (powercfg /h off and on)
PC wakes every night at 11:36. I have disabled the wake for anything feature and I cannot figure this out. Based on settings its not supposed to wake up. Is there something buried that I need to change or is this just a win 10 flaw?
View 1 RepliesI have an annoying problem. When I move from my secondary LCD to the primary, sometimes the mouse won't cross the threshold unless I move it fast. I read about mouse monitor escape speed from this thread, but after adding the reg key to the control panel/desktop and the edgeui, I still have no luck.
I noticed the thread was old. Is this something where those fixes no longer work in the latest and greatest version of Win10? If so, is there a way to stop it from sticking?
Recently there was an update from windows on windows 8. A problem came about when i realized that every time I spectate in a game or watch some TV series, the graphics starts to lag and becomes jerky. I thought it may be a problem with OS so i upgraded it to windows 10, but the problem still exists.
