i want to boot on advance startup option, but everytime i restarted, it just like a normal restart, (settings, recovery then restart) What must be the prblem? i just installed wndows 10 pro.
View 9 RepliesSo this is my 14th or 15th time attempting to disable the driver signature enforcement so I can use motioninjoy to install my PS3 Controller driver to use for Rocket League. However, every time I run advanced startup, the process goes rather slowly before loading up my options. No worries at that point, but when I finally end up at the screen that has the options f1-f9, f7 being the disable driver enforcement, my computer immediately shuts off immediately after loading all of the options. Why it just shuts off... sometimes it shuts off just before it loads all of the options, but I have never been able to disable the driver signature enforcement thus far.
View 1 RepliesI cannot get to the advanced boot options menu that I could with windows 7 by hitting the f8 key. You know the menu that has safe mode with Command prompt safe mode with network support startup repair and Just regular safe mode. Use some of those features but I can't get to them the f8 does not work anymore.

I make a USB flash drive with WINPE. and once the device starts into WINPE, it will automatically start to install windows 10 by calling "dism /apply-image". Normally i just shutdown the computer after installation, but now i want to reboot the device and boot into the windows i just installed. But i can't, because if i reboot the device, it will boot into WINPE again and start another turn of installation of windows. How could i temporary boot into my windows 10?

Unchecking the "Turn on Fast Startup" command in the above setting path does not do it. There is supposed to be a motherboard software for enabling a normal startup the next time the computer is restarted.
So I just upgraded my wife's computer and noticed it loads directly to my account which has no password. When I restart it never asks who's account I want to logon to, just goes to mine. Of the three computer I've upgraded this is the first to do this. Also in the power options I can't find the option for fast boot.

Roll back option in recovery is gone and i haven't gone for 30 days. So, naturally i went for my trusty old 8.1 ISO that i made, only thing here now is that doesn't work either. I get this: "setup has failed to determine supported install choices" ... So..... What can i do?
I partitioned my drive to have Windows 8.1 as my daily driver and Windows 10 to play around with. Today when I went to update to the new 10041 build (which did not work, it's stuck on a Windows Defender update and an Intel display driver update) I don't know what happened that now I don't get the screen upon booting my computer to choose between the two partitions. It just boots directly into Windows 10. When I check the Disk Management I can see the other partition is there, but I have no way of booting into it.

View 6 RepliesI just canceled my Windows 10 download request because of "Secure Boot." I find it's very disturbing to work under its conditions of inflexibility. Without an option to select or deselect, Secure Boot is an irrational restriction on the individual.

1. Upgrading does not allow an installation with dual boot option.
2. Windows 7 is gone after one month. If you don't like it, too bad.
3. My "legacy" Dell colour laser printer will not function with Windows 10. It works flawlessly with Windows 7 and getting a new printer gets rid of the saving plus a lot more than the savings of a free W10. I will pass on the "free" upgrade.
Just want to check something, I am running 8.1 and 10 in dual boot, but when the time comes to running 10 on it's own how do I get rid of the OS boot selection option at start up?
I know that MSCONFIG has options but it will not allow me to set the timeout less than 3 seconds.
What about the start up and recovery option in the advanced tab in system settings? Would this get rid of the selection screen?
I recently upgraded my windows 7 to windows 10. I have had everything activate properly. I then decided to do a fresh install of windows 10. I loaded boot media on my pc and everything went fine. Now with the fresh install of windows 10, at boot up, I get the option to choose windows 10 or windows 7. How to I change this so it ALWAYS defaults and boots windows 10? Considering I wiped my hard drive clean windows 7 shouldn't even be an option.
View 4 Repliesrecently started using Reflect, moving away from TrueImage. I'm pretty happy with it so far, except for the outlandish price (yea, I know, free version fine for most but I like to password protect my images).
I notice there's an option to put the recovery on the boot menu, reminiscent of Norton Ghost.
Anyway, a while ago, I was playing with booting installations from a HDD, which worked, but now it seems I'm stuck with the partition I used to store the installation on.
So I have two questions:
1. To delete the H partition, I need to first set the C one to active, correct?
2. Is it even safe to delete the partition since it's a "system" partition?
The H partition is empty as far as general files go, but since it's bootale, it always shows up as a boot option, which is mildly annoying.

I have windows 7 on one ssd and going to have windows 10 on a second. Will i have to disable fast startup in windows 10 or any other type of hibernation settings.

Started with a dual boot Windows 7 pro / XP HP Elite 8300. Upgraded Windows 7 to 10 and now it seems to take forever for the boot menu to show up. I can hit restart, it shuts down then just sits there doing nothing for several minutes. No hard drive activity, no video just the power light. Then it looks like it reboots and finally displays the boot menu.
With Windows 7 it went through the normal boot process and displayed the boot menu without the dead-in-the-water pause.
Today I upgraded my Win 7 PC to Win 10. Everything was fine 'till the installation finished and came up with my desktop. it loaded normally for a few moments then a black screen appeared with no taskbar nor the icons only cursor. I can access the Task manger and I tried terminating explorer.exe and restarting it but nothing changes.
View 1 RepliesI have a Lenovo laptop upgraded to Windows 10. Last night I switched it off but now when I turn it on, it stucks in the startup Lenovo logo. I think that it is a driver issue but I cannot boot it in safe mode to fix it? What can I do? ( I don't mind to lose my files).
View 2 RepliesInstalled MSI's "Fast boot" software, upon restarting every time I am greeted with a bluescreen mentioning it not detecting a device.
MSI Fast boot also seems to increase the time it takes for the mouse and keyboard to start so when it asks "Press enter to Retry, or F8 to change settings" i cannot do anything as the keyboard and mouse are not on.
If its possible to fix this without reinstalling.
