how to fix my UAC Password Issues.I reset Windows 10 due to multiple issues and it ask me to add a windows account and password, so I did (big mistake). Now every time I bootup my computer I have to enter a password, and I don't like that. So, I got to UAC and uncheck the box showing password thinking all will be fine. NO, now I cannot change anything, or password. Even when I get a screen to enter an administrator password there's nowhere to type the password, weird? This is over my head and I'm in need of some real expertise.
Ok so i am furious with Micro$oft now! the other day i was FORCED to change my microsoft account after much nagging i did so and i dont like changing logins too much. (this was a week ago)
now for some random reason on earth without my permission my windows login also changed login passwords to the microsoft account. I DONT WANT THAT! that password is too long and complicated for someone who locks his computer every 5 minutes or so. why did this just kick in now? i changed M$ account pass over a week ago and today it decides to change windows login?! can i change JUST my local windows login separate from microsoft login?
if i try to change pass from settings it it goes online and says you cant use password that has been used before.
I read that if a folder is encrypted and I change my login password, then I can't login to that folder anymore. I was testing that on my folder, I did encrypt it, now it's green, I went and changed my password and login again, but I still can access my encrypted folder.
I updated my laptop from Windows 8 to 10 successfully. I'm enjoying not having the computer constantly flip from screen to screen now. There's just one issue:
My computer was hacked, so I decided to change the password. Not the Microsoft password, which I changed successfully, but the one I type on the lock screen to unlock the computer. The current password was invented by me via windows 8, before the update.
I tried searching and found "do a control alt delete, then choose password change". That option didn't come up.
I tried a chat with Microsoft support and got an email so badly written I could hardly understand it. The writer had no clue how to change the password.
I tried logging out, then entering the wrong password, then going to the "forgot password" screen. It led me to change the Microsoft pass, but not the windows unlock screen pass which is not the same.
Surely, there must be some way to change a windows 10 unlock the computer password, but I've about given up.
I've been using my original password for several months to log in to Windows. Yesterday I was prompted to change my password, so I did. Now, my desktop image has reverted to the default "window with smoke", most of my desktop icons have disappeared, a navigation app that normally runs on startup is not there, and the bottom toolbar looks different. Even my email app, Thunderbird, acts as if I had never used it and I had to set it up again.
It looks as if my account identity has gone back to a default "new windows 10 user" setup. How can I restore my old setup?
Bought a new HP Desktop computer and made a mistake when setting up my Microsoft account with my email. Can't seem to get in to edit the "administrator's" password.
after an update at starting, tablet laptop start gives picture/clock screen, that slides to the password screen but when password block is touched on screen or mouse clicked the screen flips back to the picture/clock ... how to deal with this kind of lock out that the typing box won't open and loops to clock screen? have turned off for an hour to see if that does it..but if not...would restarting into a repair or recovery be possible fix...i have never been able to get into safe mode without being logged in but have gotten into recovery during a restart which made me wonder if entering a recovery during boot and reversing the upgrade was possible if all else fails...
Brand new W10 user.Or, at least trying to be a user.Every time I start up the PC, it asks for a Password, or an invitation to make a PIN.I just want it to start.I don't want or need a Password.
I have no microsoft password, and the box which comes up when running netplwiz is UNCHECKED, but if I leave my computer for a while, and then try to begin again, it often demands a password, and the only thing I can do is restart. I would like to avoid this mid-session demanding of a password.
I got a new laptop with Windows 10 about a month ago. Used it several times over the last month, even yesterday. But this morning when I tried to use it, it will not let me enter my password. I can move the mouse, but that's all. I can't get to any other screens.
I ran into tho obstacles. I'm trying to set Windows 10 to “never sleep” and have the Windows to lock me out if I'm away for longer than the time you list in the settings. When I come back it requires me to log-in with my password. I don't want to set it to sleep because I'm rendering but at the same time keeping my files safe.
Have just upgraded this afternoon and now can't get beyond the request for a password on my lap top. The password I have always used is apparently "incorrect". I can't reset either as I am being told I need a USB flash drive which I don't have. Why is this happening and what can I do to get into my lap top?
I downloaded and installed Win10 and I was able to use my computer normally. Ran CCCleaner. Now, after entering the same password I've used for years, the screen keeps saying it is incorrect. I changed passwords and retried with no luck. So my computer is useless as I can't get to my desktop to make any security changes or uninstall Win10.
how to get a restore disk to reinstall (would this even work?) I'd like my desktop computer back !
Upgraded to Windows 10 a few weeks ago, no passwords set. This morning turned on pc and it asks me for my pass word. No other person has access to the pc.
I just upgraded my neighbor's computer from 7 to 10. All went well EXCEPT for a small glitch. I set it up without a password and it boots to desktop really fast. Upon her checking it out she wanted me to set up a password to keep her children from logging on to it. I did. The password works OK BUT just before the screen asking for the password the computer hangs at the time/date screen. The screen is a pic of a seascape/beach looking through a rock tunnel. I've seen this screen after a computer wakes up from sleep. It will go on if you tap a key. Any way to bypass/stop this screen from showing. She didn't have it with 7 using a password. I tried msconfig with no GUI boot but it doesn't work.
