Power Up PC Freezes Before Getting To Password Screen
Aug 18, 2015on power up the PC freezes before getting to password screen. When I reset the PC (second power up ) it continues to the password screen and all is O/K.

Freezes And Screen Goes Black?
Nov 15, 2015So after the upgrade to win 10 I've been have an annoying problem, if my pc goes idle for a few hours the screen will go black and I can't do anything but a hard reset. I looked in my event viewer and saw lots of errors so I just wiped the event log to start over and maybe find out whats going on.
I also ran a system scan in the command prompt to see if there were any errors but it found 0.

Jan 14, 2016I had a computer man in to install Windows 10 and remove Windows 7 and I wish I had never done it. I can be writing away and then all of a sudden it freezes and comes up with a couple of pop ups before waking up again. Occasionally the computer freezes solid and I have to manually switch it off. I have the computer man coming again tomorrow which will cost me more money but I'm getting close to just giving up and buying an Apple.

Oct 3, 2015Although normally random, the freeze (to which this dump file is related) happened whilst listening to music in firefox, using teamspeak 3 and playing guild wars 2, after 2 hours with no issues.I have run memtest86 in multiple memory configs, only to receive under 10 errors in test 13 which I understand is OK.The errors are systematic for my type of memory (all sticks show similar errors in test 13 regardless of memory slot).

Updates :: Not Able To Press Key To Get From Lock Screen To Password Screen
Dec 19, 2015Since the latest update (It introduced the slide show of pictures on the lock screen. I think it is KB3124200) I haven't been able to press Enter or Space or any other key for that matter to "slide up" the lock screen photo to get to the password screen. I've looked through the lock screen settings, but I see nothing that could prevent this.

Sep 20, 2015Two week ago I upgraded to windows 10 and immediately installed a new SanDisk Extreme Pro SSD Drive. All is working fine with the exception of Netflix that freezes avery minute or so in medium and full screen, (works ok in minimized screen).
I understand Netflix needs "Silverlight" to function which is supposedly supported by Windows 10 but not by Windows Edge. I've tried running Netflix on Explorer but still have the same problem.

When the crash happens there is no blue screen and the screen just freezes. If there is any sound playing it just goes into a buzzing sound and stays like this until I reboot, after this the PC starts like normal. Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening?

Aug 27, 2015I recently updated to windows 10. I play WoW often and lately when I get a skype call with the game on everything freezes then screen goes black. It's recovered once but typically requires me manually shutting the laptop down. It's an HP and came with 8.1. I bought it new and have had it under a year.
Wanted to add that I can usually hear sound for a while after the screen has gone black. I even continued a skype call for about 3 minutes until the sound cut out too.
Power Options On Sign In Screen
Sep 1, 2015With Windows 8,1 I was able to sign out of my account and then put the PC to sleep (or shutdown, restart or hibernate) by selecting the option in the sign-in screen. But there is no power icon or any power options on the Windows 10 sign-in screen. I can only put the PC into sleep mode while signed in.

Apr 6, 2016Today I had left my computer turned on for some time to download a torrent and then there was a power cut due which the computer had switched off. Now when I turn on the computer there is a Windows 10 logo with a loading loop(which is usual) but then appears a blue screen with a loading loop which loads for ever. Usual this loading screen did not last more than a second but now it is loading for ever. Due to this I am not able to do anything. My system was running on Windows 10 64bit which was up to date. I do not have Windows 10 CD or any other windows 10 installation media as the windows 10 ISO was stored on my PC. Though I have a Windows 7 boot-able pen drive ready, can I use it to fix this(disk check or system restore)?

Oct 19, 2015Ok, I have read several people having problems with the sleep/power save modes.
I have a similar problem. I can't keep my screen from going blank. Now what I have done is I went into the power save and sleep modes and had everything set to "never" including "none" on screensaver. Well in 5 minutes the screen goes blank but the computer, drive and my previous items & webpages are right where I left them. I also tried setting the time the display goes to sleep for 30 minutes and it stills goes into blank mode in 5 minutes. My assumption is, no matter what I set the power/save and screensaver to it still goes into a 5 min no activity screen blank.
Computer is a HP ENVY dv7, AMD A10,Quad core with 16Gb mem; 650Gb drive. Previous OS Windows 8.1. All drivers were updated to latest before update to Windows 10.

Apr 11, 2016Whenever I on my computer after I wake up or come back from work, my windows sometimes do not boot up fully. it will load and then gets stuck on an empty orange screen (might be related to the fact that I have orange set as my colour theme for my windows 10). I will then hold on to the power button on my computer to force a shutdown. Right after that, I will power on again and the computer starts up fine.
This has been occurring for a while - I didn't have this issue when I first installed (upgraded from windows 8) windows 10.
I tried googling my issue, and I have turned off Fast Start-up under power options but it did not solve the problem.
