I know Access can setup an Outlook Task to auto-export query to Excel, but it requires the Outlook to be always open on the user's computer.
Is there an easy way to setup a schedule that can automatically export a query to Excel and this schedule will then auto-email the exported Excel file to an email address every Monday at 5AM for example?
If this can only be done in VBA, any reference I may start with?
I'm trying to export queries from access to excel using the DoCmd option. The code (see below) works to a point - it exports some of the queries before I get a run time error:
"31532: Microsoft Access was unable to export the data".
The worksheet tabs also do not pick up the query name but instead return what looks like a temporary ID (e.g. ~TMPCLP118431). Have tried different file locations and versions of excel but the same thing keeps happening.
Code: Sub ExportAllQueries() Dim qdf As QueryDef Dim db As Database
Is it possible that two mgsbox will Show up, where the user can put in the timeperiod.
The time period would be the starting day of the contract.
It's called inception_date
Code: Private Sub Befehl1_Click() Dim xlApp As Object 'Excel.Application Dim xlBook As Object 'Excel.Workbook Dim xlSheet As Object 'Excel.Worksheet Dim rstID As DAO.Recordset, tmpStr As String Dim rstGr As DAO.Recordset, strSQL As String
I using excel 2010 and access 2010. I have VBA script runtime error 3011 when running script. It has problem finding access report. First I was passing in as variable with the name. Then I used a script to pull in the report name from access and it is still failing with same error.
Code is shown below.
Private Sub Command29_Click() Dim reportname As String Dim theFilePath As String, FilePath As String, tempStr As String ' reportname = Me.My_DBTableName
I'm currently using the following VBA to export all tables within my DB to Excel on separate tabs:
Dim td As DAO.TableDef, db As DAO.Database Dim out_file As String out_file = CurrentProject.Path & "" & "Backup.xls" Set db = CurrentDb() For Each td In db.TableDefs If Left(td.Name, 4) = "MSys" Then 'We do not need MSys tables in excel file Else DoCmd.TransferSpreadsheet acExport, acSpreadsheetTypeExcel9, _ td.Name, out_file, True, Replace(td.Name, "dbo_", "") 'We do not need dbo prefix in sheetnames End If Next
But upon exporting I get the following error:
"Run-time error 3274' External table is not in expected format"
Hi all, I use a d'base that exports a table via a query to Excel. Once the user hits the button to run this command it can take between 30 sec to 60 sec until the data is displayed in excel.
Does anyone know of anyway to speed this process up. Currently there are around 12,000 records with the table.
I 'm downloading the excel data from the site and connecting it to access.
In excel the particular column (Time Taken) is in the format of "00:12:26".
After connecting it to access and appending it to the table, the format changed to "12:12:26", the first two digits changed to "12" and the remaining are as it is how it looks like in the excel. I need to change it to format what it looks like in the excel.
When exporting my tables from access to excel my table names change if they have a space in the name. Example table name "New Record" turns into "New_Record".
What I am trying to do is export the table data to excel than update my access program than imort the table data back. This way I can take a vertion of my access program and update/modify it as time permits than reinsert all current data with min down time.
The code I am using is as follows:
Dim td As DAO.TableDef, db As DAO.Database Dim out_file As String out_file = CurrentProject.Path & "excel_out" Set db = CurrentDb() For Each td In db.TableDefs
I am using Office 2007 and trying to export a table in Access to a Macro-Enabled workbook in Excel. Unfortunately, when I go to export the table, my file does not show when I browse for the file and .xlsm doesn't look like it's a supported file extension. I have looked around and noticed others have this problem as well. One solution was to use save the Excel file as a 97-2000 file since it doesn't change the file extension based on having macros. However, I can't do this because then I lose functionality with tables and other things on my spreadsheet. I need the data in Excel to be updated every month. Is there any way to do this in Access? I'm going to explore using sharepoint. My DB options are limited to Access and Sharepoint. I don't have access to Oracle or SQL Server or MySQL etc.
Hi, I am trying to email a table in text format using :
DoCmd.SendObject acSendTable, "Table", acFormatTXT, , , , "Results", "Attached are the reslts"
It sends the file in text file format, but it adds "-" & "|" characters all over the file. Is there a way that I can send the file in simple "Comma Separated" file format.

I've tried to directly link to the file but not working. so i manually open the file and save the file on excel 2002 format, then i use that file to be linked on my mdb. Unfortunately every time i replace the file with the newest data, my mdb not displaying the updated data.
- how can i link old version of excel on mdb? - what should i do so my mdb will display the updated data after the excel file is replaced?
I would like to use the "Collect and update via email" function within MS Access 2010 which sends out and collects emails. I know how to use this function, but what I would like to do is something slightly different. Instead of emailing out a data entry "form" that has the employee/team member enter information for data collection purposes about their project, status, start date, end date, priority, tasks, etc. Instead, I would like send an Excel/Access table with all of the current project information displayed in the email data collection form and then have the employee reply to the email and overtype edits to displayed information and then have those changes automatically entered into my table. For example, one project table can have up to 50 rows and then column headers such as project status, start date, end date, priority, task description, etc.
I have an application with a backend db on PC 1, and the same application on PC 2 linked to the backend db on PC 1 via the network.
The link works fine but the time formats are different.
On PC 1 the time format is shortime and displays as it should i.e. in 24 hour clock format
However on PC 2, opening the same database via the network, the time format is still shorttime but when you read the time within the code it comes out in AM/PM format. Also, when the defaul tiem should be #20:00:00# but this changes to #8:00:00 PM#
Weirdly though, when you just open the table, the times are in the correct shorttime format.
Guessing, it must be a setting within the main core of Access 2003 that is different between the 2 instances?
I have an excel table called Parameter with a column called "Test" -- The column contains integer numbers only. So all the numbers in the column are like 5,10,15,20 etc..I have an access macro which imports the entire excel table into a access table called dbo_Parameters
I have created an access macro to run "Saved Import" for 'dbo_Parameters"..After uploading, all the data in the column Test is formatted to mm/ dd/ yyyy. The Field Size is Integer, but the format is view format is converted to a Date..I have to change the properties of the column to "General Number" and get rid of the date format.how to change the import format!
a) The format of the column in Excel - It is number b) The import procedure and saved import. I am unable to change the format of the import during upload. I make sure that the import format column is Integer
I have a simple and small database having only one table. I want the data table to be exported in a spreadsheet format automatically at the end of the month. Is there any code or function to do that?
I am trying to format a spreadsheet to import into a Table. To do this I need to delete the top 8 rows and then the 4 rows below the data I need, both areas contain header data. The 4 rows below the data I need are blank but formatted oddly and it is causing issues during import.
Code: Sub ExcelFormat() Dim excelApp As Object Set excelApp = CreateObject("Excel.Application") excelApp.worbooks.Open ("Z:DataTest.xlsx") End Sub
I wanted to assign the field "Number of magazine" with special format based on date/time format but showing only year and month in the format: "yyyy-mm".
So in property of this field in format I put yyyy-mm and in input mask I type 0000-00;;-
I also created the form based on the table containing above field and I defined format and input mask for corresponding formant in the same way like at the table.
But if I try to type date for example 2014-01 in text box of the form it comes up with the full date 2014-01-01. Why does it do like this? What do I do incorrectly?
We're using Access 2010 on Windows 7.We have a large database design where we send reports as e-mail attachments. We need to change the way the file is automatically created when sent. I goes to snapshot form every time we attach it to an e-mail. How can we get rid of the snapshot .snp file format? How can we change it to pdf or accbd?
