I am looking for the ability to have a scrollable window inside of a tab.
My database is tabbed into categories of data.
One of these categories has more than the others.
I would like to create a rectangle inside the tabbed area which I can put the questions in but the box is too small, so instead of creating tabs inside another tab, id rather have a scrollable section inside in which I can put the questions in...
I'm having a problem with the syntax of a recordset of a Datasheet inside a subform which is also inside a Main Form.
Main Form - frm_1_0_LMS Subform - frm_1_4_0_TeamApprovals Subform(Datasheet) - frm_1_4_1_TeamApprovalsList
Here is my code:
Code:
Dim rs As DAO.Recordset Set rs = Forms!frm_1_0_LMS.frm_1_4_0_TeamApprovals.frm_1_4_1_TeamApprovalsList.Form.Recordset If Not (rs.EOF And rs.BOF) Then Forms!frm_1_4_2_ApproveDeclineUserLeave.Controls("lblFiledDateLeave").Caption = rs!Leave_Date End If
I am getting this error: Object doesn't support this property or method
Hi, I'm using a scrollable mouse and I'am always accidently hitting it while in access 2003 and it keeps changing the records, Is there a fix for this with out changing to a non scrollable mouse?
On a form I have an scrollable listing of all records in my database, alphabetized by last name. There are alot of records so I would like to have a 'Search' text box -- that is, I would like to be able to type letters of the last name in the 'Search' text box and as each letter is typed I would like to see the records scroll to the first "last name' that starts with the text I have typed so far. Any ideas ... Thanks ahead of time!
I'm a noobie with Access, and on my form which displays Account information, I also want to display the multiple Addresses this account can have. I can't find any type of scrollable text box (something to look like a spreadsheet), and I know it's not a list box I need to use.
How do I create this and what is it called? I tried using a data grid but I dont think that is it either
Also, my scrolling text icon on the toolbox is greyed out, not sure why.
On it, there is a subform called 'patient' - this has a number of subforms in the detail section (Linked on a one-to-one key).
When the patient form loads, I hide the detail section until a user either
A. Finds an existing client record or B. Clicks the 'ADD NEW' button
The ADD NEW button opens a separate (pop up) form where the primary patient information is gathered. When the user clicks "Save" on the pop up, my VBA script ...
A. Creates all the one-to-one relationships that are required. B. Updates the 'Find Patient' field to the newly created patient number C. Finds the new record D. Un-hides the detail section (This is what I cant get to work)
The rationale for hiding the detail section in the first place? The answer is twofold.
1. If the user simply creates an new patient, the three actions (A, B C above) don't always run/display the data properly. (Im not sure why? ) The pop up form seems to be a good working solution for me. 2. My users have a tendency to change data on the default patient. I have tried going to new record, but then they add new (often duplicate) patient records.
" Is it possible to toggle the visibility of a picture on a form's detail section for each row based on a query whether a certain condition is met? "
I have a form, which fetches data from a database and populates the content as a number of rows in the detail section.
For each row I want to test if a certain 'yes/no' condition is met on each query and the toggle the visibility on a picture that I have placed in the detail section.
I've tried seveal possible solutions now, like macros and VBA but haven't got it working.
I have been fighting a problem with sorting the data in a subform that is in a datasheet. It is sorting the data automatically so the entries are not in the original order. Is there a way to disable the feature so that when I put data into the datasheet it will appear in the same order that it was originally.
i removed the DIsTINCT in my query to move some field to be updateable on the form. Once I did that my detail section of my form was empty ..why and how do I fix this problem.
Working in Access 2007 - I would like to have an updatable calendar in the header section of a form, and when this is changed by the user I would like the subforms (there are several) in the details section to be updated with various appointments with dates corresponding to the date selected in the header.
I created a search form. It has 6 unbound text boxes and 2 combo boxes in the header. Users can select values from the combo boxes and/or enter names in the other text boxes. These values all go into a filter on my Main table and the filtered results show up in the detail section. That used to work fine.
Now, I've been trying to convert the filter into a query and show the query results in the detail section instead. (Why? Because of the ever-changing business requirements, of course!)
For some reason, the detail section went blank. All white. When I change the Data Entry property to No, it fixes that.
However, the text boxes for entering the search criteria will not accept any values anymore. It's like they are disabled.
When I change Data Entry property to Yes, I can enter text into the text boxes again. But the detail section blanks out again.
Ok, this is what I have, I have a database that has 3 tables, a year table, that all my forms get inputted into, a table that has manufacturer addresses on it and a table that has sampling locations.
On my form, I have it where there is a drop down box, so you can just select the name of the manufacturer and select the name of the sampling location. But what I want it to do is, that you select the name from the drop down box and then in another box or two it auto populates the corresponding street address, and city for both the manufacturer and the sampling location.
Code: Sub ClearDeck() Dim i As Integer Dim ToStay As Variant
'Because Access will not allow a Frame and all it's contents to set Visible = False 'Remove all Frame Controls except those to keep outside our Frame
[Code] ...
I'm getting RunTime Error 424 Object Missing on the line inside the if statement. Although it is getting .Controls(i).Name correctly and I would have thought Me is an Object? I also tried the complete Form name but still got the error.
I have a master form named frmCustomer. I then have a set of tabs (not the navigation tabs) embedded within frmCustomer. The tabs are Invoice (frmInvoice), Contacts *frmContacts), Notes (frmNotes) and Orders (frmOrders). All form are Single Form. There is another form named frmInv that displays an invoice in a formatted manner. frmINV gets its data from a q1uery called InvQ.
It has a criteria that reads [Forms}![frmInvoice]![Invoice_ID]. I placed a button on frmInvoice that calls frmInv. If I run frmInvoice separately outside the tab the correct invoice displays. If I click the buttom from within the tab I am asked to enter the vale of [Forms}![frmInvoice]![Invoice_ID]. How do I call the frmInv form from the tab?
I have a form with a list box. This list box has a row source that I've set as a query for five different fields with a where clause. This where clause should pick up a value that is already within the form. And this is where I think it's going wrong, because if returns no results, but if I set it to point at the same value from another form (previous to this one, it does work). So there is something about the order or something so that this variable isn't passed to my listbox when it executes.
So, my list box has: select ID, title from table where ID = [Forms]![CurrentFormName]![ID]
and it doesn't work. However if I add a text field and set that to point at =[ID] then this does display the ID. And if I amend my query to point at this text field using the same convention above, that doesn't work either.
I presume I am mis-referencing, or there is something in the order that the listbox loads and it does this before the ID is set?
On a Tab Control inside a from, I've created an Unbound Object Frame, referring to an MS Excel Work Sheet. The goal here is to link that Unbound Object Frame residing on the Tab Control and save the form/link.
Now, when I execute the code, the Object Frame is linked and updated, but when I close the form, the link inside the Object Frame is not saved! However, when I do the exact same thing without placing the Object Frame on one of the pages of the tab, so as regular control inside the form, all works fine.
The code is as follows (performed when I click the button);"OLETest" refers to the UnBound Object Frame placed inside the first page of a Tab Control inside the form.
Form_A (main form for the application - should always be open) Form_B (always open, but sometimes has visibility set to false) Form_C (opens from button on Form_B)
When I press the button on Form_B, the only code behind it is DoCmd.OpenForm "Form_C". This seems to hide Form_B, and open Form_C behind Form_A (which is the main form of the application) inside of an Access window.
I would like Form_C to open in front of Form_B. I suspect that I set up the form incorrectly or something when I created it, and it is therefore opening inside an Access window.
I have a list box called "product list box" based on a query called "searchqry", i also have another listbox called "type list box" , how do i get the type list box to only show "types" based on the section in products list box?
I would like to know if it's possible to open an specific subform inside a navigation form using an event.
I also need to to this using macros ( really can't use vba in this project =/)
Form example:
the main form has "nav_opt1", "nav_opt2", "nav_opt3"
By double clicking a record in "nav_opt1", it will open "nav_opt2" with some filters (but all in the same window), as if I was just browsing through the navigation forms usually.
I have a form with a tab control, inside the tab control I placed an ActiveX control (Microsoft Web Browser). These are at the bottom of the form.
Everything displays fine if the entire form fit on the screen but if the form is too long and I scroll down the browser control is getting obscured by the tab control and getting chopped off (the contents are covered). It is as if the browser control is staying in space where it was and moving behind the tab control as I scroll.
This problem does not occur if I place the browser control directly on the form. Also I note that the browser control is sitting correctly within the tab control.
I have been through all the settings and properties of both controls and haven't been able to fix it. I searched all over the web but no one has previously stumbled across this one by the look of it.
to hide a subform on my form that is in the detail section of my form.
Is there a way to collapse or Hide the Detail section of the main Form??
I notice that their is a property under the Detail section called Visible with an option for Yes or No.. How would I manipulate that option through VBA? I am assuming that is the option that I am looking for
My report has the Section's Footer. Each time the section runs, it will take up a different amount of space. I have already run all the code, to move all the different controls to the top (and be invisible) when they are not needed. So to the best of my knowledge, I have no controls sitting in the lower part of the section. The last thing I run is: Code: Me.S123.Height = Me.S123.Height - 300 s123 is the name of the Footer SEctions. The idea is that it gets progressively smaller. This is all running in: Code:Private Sub S123_Format(Cancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer)
All the other things work. Here is a sample of it all.. Code:If Me.txt2 = 0 Then Me.a2.Visible = False Me.b2.Visible = False Me.a2.Top = 0 Me.b2.Top = 0 Me.box.Height = Me.box.Height - 300 Me.S123.Height = Me.S123.Height - 300End IfIf Me.txt2 <> 0 Then Me.a2.Visible = True Me.b2.Visible = TrueEnd IfIf Me.txt3 = 0 Then Me.a3.Visible = False Me.b3.Visible = False Me.a3.Top = 0 Me.b3.Top = 0 Me.box.Height = Me.box.Height - 300 Me.S123.Height = Me.S123.Height - 300End If
This runs through 8 different numbers. as I said, all the other things operate properly. They get hidden and move.
