Apr 29, 2015
i want that if any powerpoint application is open after closing my access app all of these powerpoint files will be closed. i found this code for excel file and i changed it for powerpoint application. but i have an error message in this pink line?
error 438: object doesn't support this property or method
Code:
Public Function test()
Dim oApp As Object
Dim workbook1 As Object
I am using access 2013 to make a PowerPoint presentation based on the data in a query. I know how to do that much using VBA but I am also trying to make a slide with a picture on it from a saved location.
Dim db As Database, rs As Recordset Dim ppObj As PowerPoint.Application Dim ppPres As PowerPoint.Presentation On Error GoTo err_cmdOLEPowerPoint
[code]....
At the moment I am not worrying about adding the data as I know how to do this and had it working before - its just adding the picture to the slide.
I am using VBA in Access 2013 to make a PowerPoint presentation using data from the access database. know if it is possible to use Access VBA to create a button in the presentation that runs a procedure itself?
I would like to know if there is any code to view existing Powerpoint presentations in an Access 2010 form . I am creating a library and would like to set this up. I would need step by step info as I am a beginner. I have seen code for 2007 and tried it but it didn't work for me. I'm working with Access & Powerpoint 2010. I've seen VBA, Automation, etc. I do not want to build ppt presentations in access.
We have an access database which has a form that has a list box that details particular records. See attach "list box".
What I would like to do is double click on the record and this would look in a powerpoint folder (see attach "path") and open the presentation if there is a match to the value in Listbox Column 5 i.e. Tool Number.
I can get it to open the presentation if I include the tool number in the path but I cannot seem to be able to get it to compare the values and only open if there is a match.
Please help. When trying to launch MS Access 2000 I get an error: " Can't find the database you specified, or you didn't specify a database at all. Specify a valid database name in the command line, and include a path if necessary." When I try to open a valid Access file, the application simply doesn't display anything. Please help to fix the problem. Thanks
I want to export different objects (i.e. modules, reports, tables, queries...) from another ms access application. How can I list the objects so I can pick from them and then import them. I know ms access has a wizard and I am looking to do the same but a little different because I have an application that I want to filter my objects by a criteria.
But they do not work, there are still messages when deleting a record from an endless form by pressing "delete". I don't want to add a button. Docmd. Setwarning false in every form!
I did a search and found this thread, and the only problem i encounter is the min max buttons are gone though it was set up as both enable, how to show those buttons.
Hello, we have just installed a PC screen in our employee break area and this displays things that are going on in our plant using PowerPoint. Things are working well but we have a slide that needs updated daily and would like it to update automatically. What the slide shows is how many safe work days have gone by since our last accident. I have no clue on how to do this  I know a little about access so if I can use access to run the PowerPoint sides then how would I do it? We also display birthdays and anniversary dates on other slides so I would like to display these things as well but on separate slides. Thanks!
it is possible to Open access application like desk application done with java or vb, or install access application as exe or similar methods. My requirements is to giving a access application to customer with data base for printing an invoice. when he running the aplication he can see access open and tables, queries forms left hand. how to hide these thing ?
I have two problems excel instance does not close at the end and two when I try to do the looking using text it works but soon as I try using date/time it returns nothing.
Code: Private Sub Command84_Click() Dim objExcel As Excel.Application On Error Resume Next
my code does the following, user selects excel file, opens it, renames sheets, basically needs first sheet to be sheet1. rest don't matter Changes the formats in column a to number and 15dp, saves the file as .xls and then links the file to the database.
Code: Private Sub Command288_Click() Dim s As String Dim i As Long
Ive been following the code on the Microsoft support site for automatically creating a PowerPoint presentation using data from Access.
The sample code takes one field from the sample table and displays this on the PowerPoint slide - it then assumes the user can apply this knowledge and add more fields to the slides themselves. I have tried to do this but am getting nowhere.
Please can somebody advise how I add additional fields to the slides via the code. I am afraid Im not very confident with VBA so am stumbling a bit blindly here. Here is a sample of the code that I think I need to add to:
With ppPres While Not rs.EOF With .Slides.Add(rs.AbsolutePosition + 1, ppLayoutTitle) .Shapes(1).TextFrame.TextRange.Text = "Hi! Page " & rs.AbsolutePosition + 1 .SlideShowTransition.EntryEffect = ppEffectFade With .Shapes(2).TextFrame.TextRange .Text = CStr(rs.Fields("LastName").Value) .Characters.Font.Color.RGB = RGB(255, 0, 255) .Characters.Font.Shadow = True
I tried to replicate the last bit here by adding Shapes(3) and the new field name, but I must be doing something wrong because Access throws up an error message.
If anybody can give me some pointers I would be grateful. Also, if anyone can advise how I can determine the position of the fields on the slide I would be grateful (they seem to be centering at the moment).
The link for the full code is here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dno2k3ta/html/officeaccess2powerpoint.asp
I have created a pivot chart using the Autoform and now i want to export this charts to powerpoint, i cannot copy that chart which i have created in in autoform, i can export the pivot table to excel sheet and draw again the chats but i cant copy or export the pivot charts directly, Is there any option for that. can anybody help me in this case?
"how to COMPACT the DB by introducing delay of 10 seconds and then close the DB".In the Database, I'm able to accomplish the "Compact" the database using the function below.
Function Compact() SendKeys "%(FMC)", False End Function
As my DB is quite huge, the Compact action takes around 10 seconds to complete. Now, i would like to Close the Database after Compacting the DB. I tried including "DoCmd.Quit" in the function. The commands in the function, closes the DB but the Compact function doesn't seem to have executed as it needs 10 seconds to complete.
Function Compact() SendKeys "%(FMC)", False DoCmd.Quit End Function
how to introduce this delay of 10 seconds and then close the DB.
Is there an easy way to open a powerpoint presentation from an Access form? Have seen the coding solution on msdn but was hoping there was a simpler way.
Getting error '2450' when click Access close button to exit.
Run-time error '2450': ECN cannot find the referenced form 'frmLogin'.
Note: After login my login form is visible to, cause to get login user id into "frmECN" Form. But When I'm in "frmECN" Form and enter data then close to exit Access main close button I'm getting 2450 error.
Maybe a strange question but what is the best way to display access forms in a PowerPoint presentation or in printed material. If i do a print screen and then tidy it up the resolution is not great. Any ideas
We have an extensive reporting application in Access and would like it to be available through a web application. I've went down the road of migrating this application to SQL to use SQL Reporting Services; this is a good tool but I am wondering if MS Access has an easier solution for me other than migration to SQL.
I'm looking for a solution that will make these reports available over the web for many users. Price tag is a consideration...need to know if there is any.
Please help...thanks in advance for any thoughts!!!!
I have to write a code for my database,i have folder with files "pending Review" and a table with column "tblExcelLocation". when i run my database all the files from pending review folder goes to "tblExcelLocation" on a click of button. But,if the files already exists it should not insert those files and insert the rest. For this i tried to write a code but i think i m unable to do that .
Code: Loop through files in folder folderspec = "O:QA FilesQC ReportingPending Review" Set fs = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") Set f = fs.GetFolder(folderspec) Set fc = f.files
I have parameter form that ask for state and begining date. on click it runs a query and creates a report by state that has multiple pages.. I want to create a separate pdf file for is page (which would be by delegate_name).
This is the coding I have so far and am gettting the error '424' object required. This is the coding I currently have. I haven't worked with access in over 9 yrs so am a little rusty with it.
StateAbb = Me.State PeriodStartDate = Format(Me.Period_start_date, "MM-DD-YYYY") Dim strSQL As String Dim db As Database Dim rs As Recordset Dim strRptName As String
Is it possible to edit the recent files of a access database?
We have a main database (version control database) from where you can open a database which is located on a network drive.
By selecting the datbase you need from a dropdown menu, access will check which version you have locally. If there is an updated version available on the network it will download this updated version, overwriting the old one. The 'main' database is then closed and the local version of the database you needed is opened.
The problem is that this local database is mentioned in the recent files history so people are able to bypass using the main database.
In Excel you can clear the recent files with application. Recent Files setting the maximum to 0 and back to original again. In Access you do not have this option.
Where I would be able to find this option. Ideally I'd like to only take out a specific databasename from the recent files, rather then resetting the full list.
