Using Criterion To Add Begin/end Date Range. How Get On Report

Mar 26, 2007

I am using a simple " >= [BeginDate:] and <= [EndDate:]" in the criterion section of a query to allow a date range to be selected in the query which is used in a report. How can i get that [BeginDate:] and [EndDate:] info available to print on the report so it shows the actual date range being displayed in the report ? thanks.

Print Date Range On A Report Based On A Non-date Field

Aug 7, 2005

Is there a way to show the earliest and latest dates of a report generated by a non-date field?

E.g. I generate a report based on Food, and it'll list the days that this food is associated with. Is there a way to show the first and last day that appears in this report (i.e. the range of dates that the report shows based on the food selected)

Report Date Range Problem

Oct 25, 2004

I have created my report for a table and how I want it to look. The problem is when I enter my dates the report pulls however at the top of the page the range of dates just says #name rather than the dates I entered. I used sample information from a database access creates to make my report and the dates not showing up are the only issue so far. I entered sample orders into my table. The dates to enter into the date range would be 11/01/01 through 11/30/01. I have attached this sample, can someone help me with what i am doing wrong please. I'm just not sure, I have been having a lot of problems creating this database.

May 31, 2006

I created a query with: Between [Forms]![Dummy]![StartDate:] And [Forms]![Dummy]![EndDate:] in it.

I created a Form with two text boxes named StartDate and EndDate and appropriate labels and buttons.

I then Created a Report, which prompts for dates and finds the data between the given Dates correctly.

Now the problem: When I create a text box in the report of the following form, I get ?Name? error on the Report: =[Forms]![Form Name]![StartDate] This should work?
Can you help me solve this last problem and acheive a good working program?

Queries :: Date And Time Range For A Report

Jan 10, 2014

I have operators that enter equipment downtime information into the database. I need to create a report that pulls all records that have a start date and time based on a start date (field name FromDate on form) at 7:00 AM to an end date (field name ToDate on form) at 6:59 AM and shows the total duration in hours for each record.I'm having difficulty getting my query to display the correct results for the date and time range. Duration calculations work perfectly. Here is my main table only using fields pertinent to this post:

Field Name Data Type Description
Exception_Number AutoNumber Primary Key
ExceptStartDate Date/Time Start Date formatted as Short Date
ExceptStartTime Date/Time Start Time formatted as Medium Time
ExceptEndDate Date/Time End Date formatted as Short Date
ExceptEndTime Date/Time End Time formatted as Medium Time

Reports :: Date Range Filter For Report

May 27, 2015

The data the query pulls is employee name, course ID, course name and course completed date. I have added criteria in the query that asks for the Course ID to filter on a given course and a dynamic field in the query AnnualReqDate: DateAdd("d",+365,[TrainingCourseCompleted]). What this returns is a list of employees that have completed course X the date they completed and the date (12 months) when the course is due. This works great, have created a report that reflects this very well.

The issue comes in when I try to add the ability to filter by date range on the AnnualReqDate dynamic field. the AnnualReqDate dynamic field does not exist until the query is run the Between [Start Date] And [End Date] criteria add to the AnnualReqDate dynamic field wont work. The query fires off but returns zero records.

General :: Timesheet Manager - Report Based On Date Range Given By User

Jul 7, 2014

I have the following project that works as a timesheet manager:

Users enter in a form the employee name/date/hours worked/role/overtime (yes or no)/rate... on a daily basis. At the end of every week, they must create a report depending on the dates given in a query.

I have only one table (tbl_EmployeeHours) and a query to calculate the number of hours between two dates.

At the moment a report gives me all the information above (employee name/date hours worked etc..) but what I am trying to is a bit different.

I need Access to create a report (based on a date range given by the user) that would give me: per unique name, the number of normal hours worked in total, next column, the number of hours worked as overtime (rate 1.5), then, the number of hours worked as overtime (rate 2).

This means there are 3 different totals. For example, in the date range given, someone might appear twice but in the report he will appear only once with 3 different totals...

My guess:

I would say I need to create a different query for the 3 different totals (normal hours, overtime 1.5 and overtime 2). For each query you would need to ask the user to input the date range (which would not be so user-friendly I agree...). Then, I am not sure how access would create that list of names and combine the 3 different results from the queries...?

GROUP BY Just One Criterion

Jun 11, 2005

I need to execute this query from an ASP . Net page. I'm connected to an Access 2002 DB.

SELECT tblBudget.GroupCode, tblBudget.GCDescriptioon, tblBudget.Amount
FROM tblBudget
GROUP BY tblBudget.GroupCode, tblBudget.GCDescription, tblBudget.Amount
ORDER BY tblBudget.GroupCode;

If I delete tblBudget.GCDescription and tblBudget.Amount from the "GROUP BY" instruction it does not work.

What I want to do is that in case tblBudget.GroupCode is repeated (e.g. several records with the same group code) I want to display only one line summarizing all info for the given group code.

Thank you

Date Range Based On A Record Date

Mar 21, 2007

I am trying to filter out information for an ODBC query I have written, to obviously make it more concise. Because our data is not set up very logically, a lot of my queries are based on text...but that is another story. My current situation starts with a simple make-table query finding certain data within a date range. This is followed up by another simple make-table query to find other specific data within another specified date range. Then I have a cross-tab query between the two tables to locate all the data that shares the same unique identifiers. My problem lies with trying to only pull information from a certain date range. For example, I want information to be included if the data has the same unique identifier as well as falls within +/- 7 days of the received date (dd/mm/yyyy) also listed in one of the tables. Each record will likely have different received dates so I cannot set it as a constant.

Make sense to anyone? I am not confident enough to play around with some expressions...well it is more I haven't been successful at using them correctly.

All help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jay

Selecting A Date Range For A Calc'd Date

Jan 13, 2008

I Have a table that I collect data for numerous ID's. One ID may have 5 dates that is was serviced. It is due to be serviced at set intervals which is calculated from the most recent service date. I'm calculating the next service date in a text box with the DateAdd func. =(DateAdd('m',[Cal Freq],[MaxCalDate])) with the MaxCalDate being a Max func in a different text box for selecting the most recent sevice date. I'm trying to update the [Next Due] field in the [Master Asset] table with the calculated next service date so I can do queries on items that are due service within a date range. If I do an Nex Due Expr1: in the queries to calc the next due service date then do a criteria on that Expr1: such as >=[Start Date] And <=[End Date] it states datatype mismatch? Is there a way to select a requested data range on a calculated type date/time? Or How can I update the [Next Due] filed in a different table?

Query Criterion Question

Sep 15, 2005

Ok, I made a query that returns a Case Manager, their associated cases, and 3 dates that relate to each of these cases. So its:

Case Manager-----Case Name----Date1-----Date2-----Date3

I only want records to appear that have a value in at least 1 of the 3 date fields. If they have no data in ANY of the date fields I want those records excluded. How do I build this?

I have a calulated column to calulate the numbe rof days betwen receipt and approval of applications. I now want to be able to run the query and subsequently the report by having a prompt to enter anlower and upper number of days range.

I have used the experssion Between [Lower range] and [ Upper range] to prompt and when I enter say 1 to 5 days the query returns all days.

Any thoughts as to why it is not working and what can I do differnetly?

Don't Even Know Where To Begin...

May 31, 2005

I have a table set up like this:

Client,ServiceDate,Service1,Service2...Service7,Ms g01,Msg02...Msg20

The Service fields may or may not have values under each, depending on the number of services performed for the client, and they are always entered consecutively (i.e. Service1 will always have a value).

The Msg fields are similar to Services as they are filled in consecutively. They relate to all of the services in that record, so any values in the Msg fields are associated with each Service for that record.

Ultimately I need to see the information so it shows each service and each Msg that was associated to it.

So if a record was Service1=Repair, Service2=Clean and Service3=Grease and values in Msg01=4123, Msg02=1531 and Msg03=1234 I would expect to see:

Repair 4123
Repair 1531
Repair 1234
Clean 4123
Clean 1531
Clean 1234
Grease 4123
Grease 1531
Grease 1234

I don't know where to begin. I was thinking maybe a crosstab, or a pivot table but I am lost at this point. Any help would be much appreciated!!

Queries :: Using IIf Statement In Query Criterion

Jun 5, 2015

I'm trying to use IIf in a query criterion, but not having any luck.

I have a field called 'ayr_code' which has values in the format:2015/6

2014/5
2013/4
2012/3
2011/2
2010/1
2009/0
2008/9

I want to return all records where in this field:if the current month is November or December, the first four characters of 'ayr_code' are between five years ago and the current year;

If the current month is between January and October, the first four characters of 'ayr_code' are between six years ago and last year;

So, in October 2015, I'd like to see records with an 'ayr_code' of 2014/5, 2013/4, 2012/3, 2011/2, 2010/1 or 2009/0. In November 2015, I'd like to see records with an 'ayr_code' of 2015/6, 2014/5, 2013/4, 2012/3, 2011/2 or 2010/1.

I've tried to do this using solution one below, but this is not working. I've gone for solution two, but I'd like to know why solution one doesn't work and if there is a way to amend it so that it does.

Solution one [preferable; not working]

Create the following field:

Code : Expr1: Left([cam_sas.ayr_code],4)

Add the following criterion:

Code : IIf(Month(Now())>10,>=Year(Now())-5 And <=Year(Now()),>=Year(Now())-6 And <=Year(Now())-1)

So this should get the first four characters of 'ayr_code' then apply one of two criteria on the results based on whether the current month is after October or not.

Solution two [non-preferable; working]

Create the following field:

Code : Expr1: IIf(Month(Now())>10,Left([cam_sas.ayr_code],4),Left([cam_sas.ayr_code],4)+1)

Add the following criterion:

Code : >=Year(Now())-5 And <=Year(Now())

This takes the first four characters of 'ayr_code' then if the current month is not after October it adds one to the result, after which it applies the criterion that the final output must be between this year and five years ago.

Where To Begin With Security

Aug 24, 2005

Currently have several access databases (with SQL backend) in use in our company - certain people see all of them, certain people can only see some of them. This is just basically controlled by putting certain ones on their desktops and not others.

Looking to get a complete security lockdown on all of them - eg one main screen where a password is entered and that defines which other ones can be opened and which screens within the current one can be viewed.

What are the security/password options in Access?
Is it able for instance to base the level of security on our network login name/password?
Or do you need to enter a password every time you open Access which then is used somehow to define access rights to each screen and each database.
Any advice apreciated.
Thanks
