In Source, we have a column of datatype string(varchar/nvarchar).
Example:

In Target we need to map the column which is of type binary. Binary column accepts only 1,0.

I am reading a file that contains textual data (formatted,e.g font=bold,font size=10 etc). After reading the file, i store the data read from the file to a table in Sql server 2005. But in the table, this data is stored like this:
daohORIGINAL TEXTm............
how can i just store the original text of the file in the table and get rid of these boxes? Or when i read this data from table, how to remove these boxes and get only the original text?

View 6 Replies View RelatedWe run std 2008 r2, I need to recreate flat files from their varbinary(max) equivalents in our db. I have a mix of excel, pdf, word etc to recreate. Will ssis be a good tool for doing this? I'm wondering what transform(s) would be involved.
Perhaps I need to cast to varchar 1st and then land the data but if I recall correctly there is a maximum record length in ssis destination flat file rows. And I'm thinking I would have to map the varbinary (or cast equiv) to a row in the destination once for each file created.
After adding Service Reference to WebService, the Script Component has Binary Code not found, red circle not showing these are the steps I followed:
1) Add Script Component as Source
2) Add 3 x Output Columns Col1,2 and 3
3) Add HTTP Connection URL>..Binary Code not found, red circle showing
4) Add test code to Sub CreateNewOutputRows Dim i As Integer = 6 Binary Code not found, red circle not showing

Should just adding Service Reference cause Binary Code not found, red circle to appear. I have to set precompilescripttobinary option , however cannot see this option in 2012

I'm trying to convert a column in my source table of datatype varchar(6) to a column of datatype int in my destination. I tried using the Derived Column/Data Conversion transformations but none of them worked. So, I tried using the following C# (credits to the original poster) and getting an error during compilation.
Note: "MyCol" is the Input Column I've specified in the Script Component and "CleanCol" is the Output column I've specified as datatype [DT_I4].

I need to convert an access 2000 database to access 2013 and then load the data into a sql server 2012 database. Thus any urls (links) that will show me how to accomplish the following in an SSIS package:
1. Convert an access 2000 database to access 2013 database?

SQL 2012 - Convert BIDS project and DTUTIL cannot load the package I just converted a really simple 2008 BIDS project to 2012 and 2012 dtutil will not load it. Tried 32 bit and 64 bit dtutil.
Get the following error message.
'count not load package "c: empSSISPackage.dtsx" because of error 0x80131534. Description: the package failed to load due to error 0x80131534 "<null>". This occurs when CPackage::LoadfromXML fails.
I can Import the package in SQL Manager, and I can deploy it using the manifest and the deployment wizard. But DTUTIL chokes on it. It is the dtsx right from 2012 Bids build.

I have a several servers that i want to pull data from.I put the connection string in a OBJECT variable that come from configuration table and use it in the for loop mapping the value to local variable called connectionstring, this variable is the expression for the connection string property.So far everything is working as expected.
my problem is that on my development i put my local server in the connection string variable so i will be able to connect to the server so i will be able to map source to destination.
When i deploy the solution to production the data in the configuration table is different obviously but i get a connection error that saying that it try to connect to my dev server.why?

which is giving error :

Some date are in format dd/mm/yyyy I want to keep them as it is , but I want to convert the NULL one and 2015/06/24 to 24/06/2015.
I am reading a data source where all data in a given column is held as a string containing a percent value with 2 decimal points:

I need to convert these into decimal values with up to four decimal points, like this:

I am trying to use the derived column editor but since I am fairly new to this, I am getting my wires crossed. c
1. Remove the % sign from the string -- not sure if I should use TRIM, or REPLACE
2. Divide the value by 100 -- but don't I need to do some sort of type casting first?
3. Do a cast to convert whatever I got into the correct decimals -- perhaps this isn't required if I did step 2 as a typecast to decimals already?

In my source table, I have columns FirstName and LastName, both of datatype nvarchar. In my dataflow, I created two new derived columns mapped to these two columns. When pushing data to the source, I noticed that the FirstName column had a value of NULL while LastName was just an empty string (for rows that did not have any value).
My question is, why my source table column FirstName is showing a NULL value when the derived column datatype is string and the source is string? It should just be showing an empty string right?

The [DATTA] column is causing a problem. Even if I am trying to put only 1700 character string into [DATTA], the java code throws the following exception:-

I also need to pass user name and password for sql server dynamically in this case, what is the format for the connection string.
Also in package i used ADO.net as source for *.mdb files how i can set the commection to .mdb files dynamically which is used as source in my package.
