Jun 11, 2015after installing SQL Server 2008 R2 and the Reporting Services, I've managed to access the Report Manager URL....Reports through the web browser on the machine itself. But if i am trying to connect to on my client browser it does not find the Report Server.Do I need to configure the server in any way? Do I need to configure the firewall?

Dec 5, 2006I have installed SQL Express 2K5 with Reporting Services on a server (on our
private LAN) running Server 2003 with SP1.
I have requested our ISP to forward port 80 from one of our public IP
addresses to the private IP address of the server - I am reasonably confident
this is setup properly since they have successfully configured other port
forwards for me in the past.
With that said, when I try to access the reporting web site from the
internet, I receive an IE error message indicating "Internet Explorer cannot
display the webpage." I am able to view the reporting website from within
the LAN. Windows Firewall is currently disabled.
Am I missing something? Any suggestions/recommendations would be greatly
appreciated.
Need Help Getting Reporting Services Setup For Internet Access

I have report server setup on the same machine where the sql server 2005 db is setup, as well as iis running the website. i simply need to get report server running to allow internet access. I have report server setup so that it is running locally (localhost), however, as soon as I change the iis site settings to a domain name, report server stops working properly. This looks like a permissions issue, Ive tried different combinations of settings, but nothing works. Any insight on how I can get report server setup for internet access (forms authentication), would be much appreciated.

How Do I Pass Parameters In Reporting Services Over The Internet ?
Sep 15, 2007I have developed some Reports using Reporting Services and I want to deploy them for access over the Internet.
These Reports allow the Users to specify parameters, such as Start and End Dates.
I am told that a User Interface has to be developed manually to provide this facility for some kind of security reason.
This seems very bizarre and the reason doesn€™t make much sense.
Is this really true ?

May 7, 2015I have a report with multiple tables. I need to show each tables in different pages. When there is no data for tables/tables , it is coming with the next table which has data. I have given "Add a page break after" option in the tablix but still the tables are coming together when no data available. How can I show it in different page?

Now I cannot see Reporting Services under Add/Remove programs (ARPWrapper.exe /remove). It is also not displayed when using Windows Installer Cleanup Utility (msicuu2.exe). I can start the default instance of RS via Reporting Services Configuration manager and it can also be also started under Windows Services. BTW, the IIS folder structure is under the default website for Reports and ReportServer is present.
So, now how do I go about uninstalling SQL Reporting Services when I cannot see it (as an installed program) without rebuilding the machine ?

Now the RS folks might be thinking but how does this help me as I need a dataset and a dataset can only be based on a Stored Procedure or a direct table. No problem create the following stored procedure:

end
Now you've got a stored procedure to use as a dataset...Now in reporting services add a new dataset:

Now pick that dataset dsFunctions (or whatever you called it) and then pick any of the value fields from the scalar functions such as:
Now when you run the report it uses the scalars:

SQL Reporting Services - Page X Of XX Counts In Header
Jul 2, 2007I have searched high and low for how to calculate page numbering in the header where the global values do not apply.
I have a report that generates 300+ invoices and I need the page numbers to reflect page x of xx for that invoice only. My report page breaks for each customer invoice. I have found code to get the page number in the header and I have found code to get the total pages in the body. These two solutions cannot be combined.
Has anyone found a workaround in code behind or some other method?I would appreciate any guidance.
Side note: thank you all for all your postings and solutions. They have been highly valuable as I am new to SSRS.

May 17, 2007I have an existing report that has a table that contains two groups. The 1st group has the option to "page break at start". The 2nd group isn't set to page break. The report works correctly if the 2nd group's data fits on to a single page per data group. However, if the 2nd group's data for one of the iterations crosses page boundaries, it causes issues with the beginning of the report. The report breaks the 1st groups rows into separate pages, and combines the previous row with the next row on the next page, until the 2nd group is encountered, and then another page break.
Example (Assuming 3 rows in the 1st group)
1st group - 1st Row
<page break>
1st group - 1st Row
1st group - 2nd Row
<page break>
1st group - 1st Row
1st group - 2nd Row
1st group - 3rd Row
<page break>
1st group - 1st Row
1st group - 2nd Row

This report works fine on SQL 2000 SP2, and SQL 2005 SP1. In my test environment, I was able to verify that the report worked on the previous SSRS versions, and then broke immediately following the installation of SQL 2005 SP2. I have tried many things from changing the paging, grouping, table structure, and starting from scratch. Maybe I have missed something. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I would appreciate the help.

Aug 8, 2007I have searched the web and have not had any luck on finding the issue to my problem. I'm sure it's probably simple, so here it goes.
When receiving the following error "The permissions granted to user '' are insufficient for performing this operation"
Now, I would like to add to the error message shown above an extra line below it on the web page to reflect something like "Please contact XXX @ XXX if you feel that you need to have your login issue resolved" ...or something meaningful in addition to the default error messages.
I am not getting this error normally, as I have made a typo when login in on purpose! I am just trying to find a way to add more detail to the current error message or change the message to what I want it to say. This would go for any error message received by an end user received through SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services.
Do I have to create some sort of filter to read the message coming back from within SOAP? Are these messages stored in ReportingServices database or htm file?

Reporting Services :: DateTime Parameter With NULL Value Is Default
Jul 4, 2015I have a report with datetime parameter which is required to be optional (there should be an option not to select this parameter which would cause in not narrowing result of this report by this parameter).
I used datetime parameter
@daTo (to have the calendar control for selecting date) and check on "Allow Null" value. Here is default Value.
I've also tried to set DefaultValue expression was "=Nothing". Â
IN my query of data set, here is the part I use the parameter @daTo
 ... Where (@daTo IS NULL OR TRUNC(@daTo) >= TRUNC(pe.start_time) ....
But when I run the report, I got below error:
ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected DATE got NUMBER
I think it @daTo value actually not null so it try to TRunc the value
I don't know how to set null value default in my report.

I am trying to set the following default parameter : datepart("m",now()). The parameter is an integer
If I do this through visual studio 2005 it works just fine.
However I need to change this for a linked report and when I do the same thing in the viewer (using the "Overide Default" key) I get the following error
"The parameter Month contains a value that is not valid. This parameter takes an integer as a value"
Can anyone suggest a way to get arround this ?
