I have database fields that contain RTF text. If I use the default Textbox in SSRS 2008 Report Designer, I get all the RTF formating characters, which makes for a VERY ugly report.Is there another control I can place on my report that will take the RTF formated text and display it properly? I can do this in Crystal Reports, but I'm converting to SSRS 2008 so I need to be able to handle RTF formated text.

I am having 3 columns like A,B,C. In the C column I am having calculations like
=CInt(IIf(B=0,100,((A-B)/B)*100))
After this calculation if the column B is 0(zero) corresponding C column get display as "#Error", if B is not having 0 every thing is working fine.
In the calculation if I remove the " /B" it is working fine. So, how to display the value 100 in C if B=0.
What is the best approach for turning the report below into a PivotTable report in SSRS 2008 R2?The PivotTable has the following characsteristics:

When a user runs the report after a minute or 3 the user gets a timeout message, if an administrator runs te same report he will get the results. No errors in log. report timeout on 1800 seconds
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using SSRS 2008 and the reports we have use parameters of type Date/Time. The reports work well when the parameter values are entered correctly.
When entering an invalid date format for one of the Date/Time parameters the following error is displayed "The value provided for the report '<parameter name>' is not valid for its type. (rsReportParameterTypeMismatch). This seems to be working correctly as well. However, when the correct date format is then entered for the report parameter for which the report threw an error, the error persists and the report doesn't run again. Setting the parameter to "NULL" doesn't work either.
The only way to get the report to run again is to refresh the entire report. Of course, if at that point one has entered a bunch of other parameter values, those values all disappear.
Created Prod order status report, in status, we have different status
created =0
start =4
released =3
reported as finished =5
ended =7
I have the report, in report don't want to show the Prod order for ended status, how can I add the filter for this so it can show for all the other status not ended status. when I did on filter <7 , it did not work
I have a parameter that chooses its available items from a query (with a label and a value column). I set the default for the parameter to the a particular value.
It works in Preview from design mode, but when I deploy it and run the report, it does not set the default.

query is running well and data is coming correctly if I run this on Query designer.and date format must be YYYY-MM-DD.but when I try to run through on run time then the date control is showing format dd/mm/yyyy.
I change the regional settings of windows and SharePoint site to English(United States). and when I select date control it is also putting date in format like "YYYY-MM-DD'. and in that format report is working well in Query designer view.But on run time still it is not working.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have created a new SSRS Server and done all of the basic security setup for the site but I am having trouble with client machine access...At first I had an issue with being able to access report manager from any client and ended up having to shut off windows authentication on the client IE settings to get it to work. Now I am trying to run Report Builder from a client machine and it will not download. The client machine is on the same domain and my user id is set as an administrator within SSRS and as a local admin on the 2008 server.
I had the thought that without windows auth in the browser maybe it can't permit me access to the application but if I turn it on I can't get to it to download it. I have set Full Control rights to the folder as well. Most of the info out there is for 2005 and that uses IIS to host the pages where as 2008 does not. Here is the details of the error:

I am using SQL Server 2005 and SSRS 2005, and I am trying to display a PDF (image datatype, application/pdf filetype) from a SQL Database. There is no MIME option for PDF, so it seems my options are limited. Is there a way to display the PDF, or maybe convert the binary data at the database level?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIndicators are not displaying when I deployed the report in report server and access that report using browser. I have checked this in both Internet Explorer and Google Chrome browsers.
Current Version Of SQL SERVER is : SQL Server 2014 (SP1 + Cumulative update package 1 for SQL Server 2014 SP1) has been installed.
But in development environment (SQL SERVER Data Tools for Visual Studio 2012 ) these indicators are displaying properly using Preview section.
I'll go to a dataset, open up the query designer, add a new parameter, then refresh the fields, but the parameter won't be added as a report parameter. If I go to the dataset properties under the list of parameters, the value in the dropdown will be blank. However, sometimes this will automatically add.
Is this a bug in Visual Studio? How do I get around this?
Some labels such as 33314 are displaying over the columns. I need all labels to display at the top. How can I fix this without changing the size of the chart?

I had a problem accessing our report manager via the web front...
We deleted the virtual directories in IIS and then recreated them... this required us to make a change in the rsWebApplication.config file to include the URL in the ReportServerUrl tag before we could access the site again.
Now we have access to the site but when we attempt to view a report that we deployed to it - the report fails to render and returns a rsReportNotReady error, even though the report doesnt use a snapshot.
Furthermore, the strange thing is that the filters for the report don't display in their own collapsable bar as they used to before... they just display on the white part of the page. Neither does the reportviewer toolbar display properly. It appears as labels and textboxes going down the page and not in a toolbar as you might expect...
any help is appreciated... we suspect that it is some kind of configuration issue, but we have no clue where to begin...
I have created .RDLC file/report in MVC, but in Report Viewer when i try to display next page, i am unable to see the next page. it is just displaying the first page data and charts only.

If i see preview the report is coming fine and result is displayed properly. But, if i deploy the report in server and click the report ..then all parameters taking values but nothing is seen in report body ...its blank..
in any browser its blank.. atleast table structure also not displayed ..simply page blank.
We built our prod server [vm] with SQL Server 2008 R2 on Server 2008 R2. It works nicely. Then we made a copy of the VM and renamed it (so our test environment would be IDENTICAL to production). After that, SSRS was broken: I get "HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable." I can't connect via http, or SSMS.
We have tried:
* Running SSRS config tool (several times)
* Running with/without the IIS Server Role
* Dropping & recreating the SSRS keys
* Recreating the ReportServer database, etc
* Checking all of the accounts, permissions, etc
* Running SQL Repair
* Going through the registry to fix any references to the machine's old name
* Uninstalling, reinstalling SSRS
* Completely uninstalling ALL of the parts of SQL Server 2008 R2, deleting all directories, removing references to SQL Server from the registry, rebooting, reinstalling everything.
None of this has worked. SSRS [R2] is still 503 on our test box.
the SSRS [NT] service seems to run, without error. The Event Viewer doesn't seem to be recording any errors. The SSRS logs say that the default URL is wrong, but we get the same error in Prod, and Prod works fine. The other SQL Logs say something about not being able to contact the service. However, as I said, the [NT] service seems to be working fine.
I am facing a strange issue with regards to generation of a report from my application in in Live. One of our client is using a report “Auditors Report”. When I try to generate the report for period of 1 month i.e. from 01 May 2015 – 31 May 2015, the report fails when the data is bound to report control. However if I try to generate the report for period of 1 day or 15 days for within the same month, report gets generated.
Now the same application and same database when attached to our local machine, the report gets generated properly for 1 month. I am not sure why the issue is coming on the server.
I have a report that displays fine in VS 2005 (in the Preview tab), and if I hit it via a URL in IE as a deployed report. However, when I embed it in a ReportViewer control for display on a web site, I get no data back for the report. I am using an Oracle database for the data source. None of the the logs in reporting services show anything wrong, there are no events in the event viewer to indicate any problems, Oracle logs also show no problems and no errors are returned to the page when the "View Report" button is clicked.
Anyone out there have a clue? I certainly don't.

Is there anyway in SSRS 2008 to sort the Legend on a chart? Right now I am unsure as to how it is currently sorting. I see a property to Reverse the order, but I don't see anything to alphabetize it.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have 2 datasets, dataseta is a list of tickets and their relevant owner and databsetb is a list of owners and a days worked first against them.I have a table with a detail grouping on ticketid and a normal grouping on owner which works well... all straight forward to this point. In this table on the owner grouping level I also have a lookup to datasetb which pulls back the days worked per owner which works fine as well. But what I now need to do is total the days worked over all owners, which sounds simple but doesn't work. This is the expression on the days worked for each owner -
=lookup (Fields!owner. Value, Fields!owner.Value, Fields!Days_worked.Value,"datasetb")
If I add a sum around this then it uses the figure above but multiplies it by the amount of tickets in the detail grouping.

I have a RS 2008 R2 SP3 Service in SharePoint Integrated Mode.
Since 5 days my Subscriptions were not sent anymore. I did no changes to these machines. There were some data driven subscriptions in pending state. I delete these entries via SharePoint.
When I look at Report server Execution Logs, there is no error, that i can associate to subscriptions. New Subscription are created and deleted in the Log, but they will never been processed.
I have done a Reboot to the RS Box but, that was not the solution.
I've got an SSRS 2008 report with 4 nested groups on rows. Report requirements are that each new group at each level have a subtotal. I've gotten this to work just fine. After the users saw the report, they had a new request - if the SubTotal has only 1 row to Subtotal, do not display the Subtotal. If there are 2 or more rows, display the Subtotal line.I know I can go to the Grouping Properties, and on the Visibility properties select the "Show or hide based on the expression" - I am struggling with the experssion. How can I check to see if there are more than one row at this group level? The query is SQL with 2 sub selects, and 7 tables in various join clauses.

Is there any way to work around this and still output formulas?obvioulsy the way to do it in previous versions of SSRS are not working (using report items). I tried to add my formulas in my dataset (I can know which excel cells I need in the formulas) but they end up being displayed as text. I then have to get in the excel file and enter and exit each cell so that it "becomes" a formula.
