i have a ssrs report in which i have creating rows with heading of months name from jan to dec i.e. jan|feb|mar|apr|....i have a parameter start date.i want when i enter start date from march supoose i enter date 03/22/2015 then display months from mar to dec.

I am trying to split cells that are merged as part of a grouped report. Am using the right-button menu and pressing "Split Cells" when it appears but it just splits into two parts and not into single cells or rows. When I right-button on one of the parts that came out of the split, I do not get a "Split Cells" to break it down further. Want to be able to split the grouped cells into individual cells or rows and have the rows be different colors. How can I do this?

If I need to create groups (I've tried row/column grouping, but really unsuccessfully, far away from what I need).
As I think I need to write expression something like:
IFF(col2 & col3 = NULL) MERGE(col1, col2, col3)
Just I can't get success with expression's structure.
Is that possible to merge adjacent cells conditionally in SSRS 2008?
For Example
Col AÂ ColB
Col C ColD ColE ColF
If condtion is true
ColC and Col DÂ to be under Col A and ColE and Colf to be under Col B
Or Col C to be under Col ColA and Cold to ColF to be undercol B
i hav four cells that display
startdate       | %completed|   taskname    | indicator

task name and indicator are grouped by years and months
i want all these in a single cell with a separator.

I haven't been able to find a way to have the first group cells overlap each other. Is there a way to do that and am I missing something obvious?
In a matrix, is it possible to have the cell dynamically size itself horizontally (like a horizontal scroll bar)? The numbers are wrapping to the next line if they're too large to fit in the cell and it is too complicated for me to balance at compile time how large these numbers will be with the number of columns that are on the report.

The issue I have is that for all the groups in the drill-in, those cells become merged. I want to keep the group drill-in but have the cells UNMERGED. I have heard this can be done with the RDL XML but I don't know what to modify to accomplish this.Â

I need to call one of two stored procedures depending on which parameters were passed to the report. (Both stored procedures return the same fields.)
Does SQL Reporting Services allow you to switch the dataset or stored procedure name dynamically? If so, where do I put the logic? Right now I have it working with one stored procedure.
I'm thinking that I should just make one stored procedure that takes all parameters and calls one of the other two stored procedures. Do I have any options besides this?

I want to set the default value of the parameter based on the query result, when the current_status parameter is set as "opened" I want a certain date value to be displayed in the next parameter (start date), if it is set as closed I want a different date value to be displayed in the next parameter (start date), so I created the dataset with the query given below and assigned the default value to the query fields start and end date, however my Report parameters are not changing as expected.

I created a tabular model, and used it as a source for the power view. Is there any possibility to set a dynamic default value for the filter. My model has a field named 'CalendarMonth', by default - filter should take current month. I would like to know is there any possibility with out changing the data in the source.

I could able to do it by setting expression for "Visiblity" property and having report parameter thro' which columns to display can be choosen.
My problem is 2 points
1. fox example if columns 2 and 4 to be hidden, then there is an empty column between 1 and 3 and 5 columns. How to avoid this
2. When i export to PDF / Excel these spaces prevail.

I am creating simple report in ssrs and pass one parameter only. It will work perfectly (here user enter the parameter value). but i need that i should select the value in drop down box. i had tried many time and did different ways but I am unable to do it.
First i gave the parameter in my sql query in Data set (like WHERE COUNTRY = @COUNTRY) and i checked the Parameters tab in the data set. Here by default comes the Parameter Name: COUNTRY and Parameter value: [@COUNTRY].
Next i select COUNTRY Parameter in the Report Data Pane. and go to properties Here in General Tab: Name COUNTRY Prompt: COUNTRY, Select Get values from query in available values Tab (and also i tried with Select Get values from query in Default Value Tab) and Select Data set: Data Set1, Value field: COUNTRY and Label Field COUNTRY. And Click Ok
And tried to preview the report, it throwing below error
"An error Occured during local report processing. The definition of the report is invalid. The Report Parameter 'COUNTRY' has a DefaultValue or a ValidValue that depends on the report parameter "COUNTRY". Forward dependencies are not valid.
How can I achieve dropdown list.What i missed? Even i unable to do it Multi valued parameters and Cascading parameters.
Actually i am working on SQL Express 2012 version.
I developed a SSRS report, the problem is i dont have data in DEV server. So i dont know how to adjust the column lengths in ssrs report. is there any property so that the column length can be adjusted dynamically based on the data length whenever data is available in production.

We have a VB 6 application that is trying to launch an SRS 2005 report in a viewer window. This was accomplished by creating A VB.NET "wrapper" window that launches the report, and allows the report to be previewed, exported, etc. I did not write any of this.
The report is using a Shared Data Source, which points to a specific database. My problem is that the users can select which db they want when they launch the VB 6 Application, so I need to find a way to edit the connection string in the report to specify which database to use on the fly. I have the db name in the "wrapper" application, but I can't figure out how to pass it to the report.

I'm trying to create a form with reporting services. Basically I am trying to draw this form using lines that has 2 columns down the page. The problem I have is the fields can grow on either side of the page, so the lines will not line up. I have tried putting this in a list box and then text boxes inside of these, but this will not work. I have not been able to get just the line to work because it doesn't grow with the list either. Has anyone else been able to design a form like this? Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!Thanks SQLNewbie1000

I have same permissions on the other reports also but it is anabled. Is there any thing do I need to do to create new subscription. Hi, i have a problem, i had an ASPX (ASP 2.0, VS2005) application installed on a 2003 server´s IIS, the application uses SQL server and reporting services, and it was installed and running smooth on the same server, a software provider came one day and for some reason uninstalled and then reinstalled my IIS instalation , the thing is that my reporting server stoped working because the reporting services Virtual Directories and Application Pools are gone, is there any way to recreate this part or is there a way to create it manualy, i tryed to uninstall reporting services in oreder to reinstall it but it doesn´t uninstall because it can not find the IIS entrys , please i need a solution for my problem, any help will be highly apreciated.

I am trying to create SSRS report with tabs. Something like this

Tab2
Tab 3
Tab4
Tab5
The end user will input a value which will be passed to all the DataSets (my case each Tab will display some information from a DataSet). So when the user clicks on Tab1, it will display relevant information form DataSet1 and when the user clicks Tab2, it will hide the Tab1 information and should display the Tab2 information from DataSet2.I am able to achieve the following:
1. Making the tab clickable
2. Navigating from one tab to another (dispalying relevant information for each Tab) - Using Go to BookMark or Go to Report Option in the Action Property
But I am not able to hide the inactive tab report data. I am building reports and deploying it in SharePoint 2010.
I am new to report builder. I have created a report with a calculated cell that returns a true or false value based on a true or false value from another column (from a dataset field). I want to create a filter for the calculated field (which is a ReportItem), that will only show cells that are True.
I have tried several ways to add this filter, but each time, I get an error message saying that filter or sorting cannot be created for ReportItems.
We have this sporadic problem where when we go in to save an edit on a SSRS report subscription, it gives us a duplicate job number error. When I look at the Jobs in the Agent, there are duplicates, so I need to manually delete both duplicate jobs, then the subscription save will work. If we delete just 1 of the jobs, the issue seems to clear for a while, but then reoccurs. This has happened to us on multiple reports, but not consistently. The subscriptions look fine.

I have the following column values (which represent the hours in a day) -Â
I want to be able to create a "child group" which would create 15 minute interval values under each hour, like -Â
0 Â 15 Â Â 30 Â Â 45 Â Â 60Â
So these would repeat under, each "hour" column value.
How can I do this ?
