Sqldatasource Setting Reset After Page Postback, Could Anyone Give Me A Hand On This

Nov 25, 2005

Hi, I have created a search page which needs to perform different
search function in same page. I have setuped a sqldatasource then
manual
setup the connection string and command inside the codefile. So the
select command can be various depends on the event. The problem is
all of those setting will be reset after I click on the pageindex in
the girdview control to go to next pages. Since this gridview is linked

with this sqldatasource control, I need to restore the connection
string/command when user choose decide to view next page of data inisde
the
gridview.

I think I must have done something wrong in here becuase it will end up
retrieving  the total amount of data when everytime user choose to
view next
or perivous page.

Can someone give me a hand on this ? Thanks

Problem Connecting To SQL Server 2006 Express

Mar 18, 2007

I have been trying literally for months to get SQL Server 2005 Express to work on my Dell Dimension WinXPPro machine. I have installed and reinstalled both the server and the 'Management System'. I have shut down and restarted all of the related Local Component Services on my machine (with the exception of the SQL Server Active Directory Helper which will not start ??).

I have reviewed much of what is in this Forum related to SQL Server 2005 Express and I find that many have had similar problems. When a connection is attempted, the following message or some minor variation appears:

An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: -1)

In desparation, and at the suggestion of one of this forum's moderators, I went to try to download the SQL Server 2005 Express, Service Pack 2. I threaded my way through what I felt was an unecessarily complex set of links and finally reached a download site - but it was unclear whether or not the service pack was for SQL Server 2005 or the Express version. Giving up in dispair, it turn to you (once again BTW, I received no real help with this same question about a month ago).

Even though I seriously doubt if anyone will help me, I am willing to give it another try - mainly because I am home sick with the flu and having nothing better to do on a Sunday afternoon.

Thanks

A Newly Placed ISA Server (2006) Is Not Allowing My IP Phones Register To A Remote Proxy Server Outside My Network

Apr 22, 2008

Hi all,

I am having seriuos problems getting VoIP traffic into and out of my network via the ISA server which we just newly installed.

My network topology is such that the phones i am using for the VoIP service, sitting inside my network and behind the ISA server, have to register to some remote proxy server outside my network and as soon as it registers i can begin using the service. The VoIP service is on the platform of SIP and uses udp ports 5060 and 8080.

I have permitted the necessary ports on the ISA server for the service being UDP port 5060 and 8080 but still cannot get my VoIp traffic through the server.

Please i need some help here as regards something i am supposed to do or something i am not doing right on the ISA server to permit my traffic.

I am a newbie to this Microsoft ISA server and i hope you all understand

Thanks in anticipation to your replies.

Leonard.

Which Edition And Build Of SQL Server 2005 To Use For Biztalk 2006?

Oct 12, 2007

Hi all -

We are planning to use a 2-node SQL Server 2005 cluster as part of a new Biztalk 2006 project, and I would like some advice regarding SQL Server service packs and editions.

Testing has already been running for some time without problems, but the test environment (a) is not clustered, (b) is using SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition rather than Enterprise and (c) has neither of the SQL Server service packs installed.

As this is a major project for us, my instinct would be to use Enterprise Edition (maximise performance and scalability)
and to apply SP2 (because I thought it was best practice to be up-to-date). I would have liked to do this before we go Live so we don't run the risk of having to change afterwards if we hit a problem.

Understandably, the project guys' perspective is this: testing so far has not been affected by SQL Server bugs, and we should go Live with the environment we have tested in, albeit with the planned 2-node cluster which is seen as a 'must have'.

I have trawled Books Online, Technet and other resources without success, so any thoughts or info on required, recommended or preferred combinations of Biztalk 2006 with SQL Server 2005 editions and service packs in a clustered
environment would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

Michael

Publishing Report Server Through ISA Server 2006

Nov 20, 2007

I am having all kinds of problems publishing report server through ISA Server 2006. Are there any guidelines? My biggest problem is that the browser returns an error page that says ISA Server is configured to reject requests that require authentication even though I have configured ISA and the default website to allow anonymous access and require no authentication in the web listener or the firewall policy.

I have a policy that maps an external IP to the default website which has a private IP - 192.168.1.203. I have an A record in my DNS for the external IP. So, I should be able to goto http://MyReportServerSite.com/Reports/Home.aspx. NO GO! Any ideas? I have configured many other web listeners/policies for other sites and they all work fine. I've done this at least twice.

BTW, thanks to MS for the myriad of myriad of dialog boxes, property pages, dropdown lists, check boxes, etc. ad infinitum for configuring ISA Server 2006. I can't even begin to imagine calculating all the permutations... Each iteration of the product seems to get more complex. :-( Hep me, hep me pleeeease!

Hey.. Two Issues At Hand.

May 15, 2008

Hello !

I came across some interesting issues that solving them will definately help me a lot !

1) Is there a way to insert my database a row, and that it will automatically fill up the datetime column with the local machine time ? (so that I won't have to worry about users local time)

2) I'm trying to synchronize between two data sources - one is my DB and the other is a file. The data in the file should represent the data to be in the DB. However, I don't want to delete all the records and then just insert everything in the file, but to perform Insert, Update or Delete operations according to the file's changes. I managed to do the Insert and Update, but I can't find a solution to a scenario where old data, which is on the DB but not on the file, could be deleted from the DB.

I appreciate the help A LOT !

Hand Needed With T-sql

Is it possible to write these two blocks of code as one? The onlydifference between them is the AND clause: AND is_trade_date = 1 versus ANDis_sett_date = 1.Cheers,DavidIF (@trade_dates = 1)BEGINIF EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM calendarWHERE calendar_date = @dateAND is_trade_date = 1)BEGINSELECT @day_cnt = @day_cnt + 1ENDENDELSEBEGINIF EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM calendarWHERE calendar_date = @dateAND is_sett_date = 1)BEGINSELECT @day_cnt = @day_cnt + 1ENDENDEND

Need Hand Holding

Oct 7, 2007

Hi -
Is there a resource I can go to that lists people who I pay to talk me through stuff like getting SQL Server Express installed, get some sample data input and then get that data into Excel? I just cannot seem to get any help that works for me to learn SQL Server; the books are obtuse, the online help too indirect. Once I get something working I hope to enhance it on my own, but I have been stuck at the start for a very long time. There is stuff for me to do that is not getting done.

Lend A Hand With A Query

Aug 23, 2007

I have a question about a query.I have 2 tables:As an example I have the following tables (not my real tables)1) lstParts: Complete list of parts with 2 fields:  partID, partName.2) tblOrders: table of orders with 2 fields:  partID, custIDObviously the partID’s are keys to each other.
What I want is a list of all the records in lstParts that are not in tblOrders for an individual customer.  So it might answer, “what parts has this customer NOT ordered?â€?
What I have so far is close but it is repeating the correct result for each row in tblOrders.
Here is what I have so far
 SELECT
p.partID,
p.partName
FROM
lstParts p
LEFT OUTER JOIN tblOrders o
ON p.partID <> o.partID
WHERE
o.custID = ‘123’
Any help would be appreciated-Thanks

Right Hand Side Of Report Is Cut Off

Right-hand Side Of Report Being Cut Off

Jan 18, 2006

Folks,

On matrix reports, when viewed with IE through the ReportServer URL access page, Matrix reports are getting cut off on the right-hand side to the original size of the report.  However, this corrects itself immediately if you toggle any item, or change the zoom level.

What's really confusing is that most of our reports that have expanding functionality work just fine -- there's just a couple that don't.  We have spent a couple days trying to figure out what's different with no luck.

EDITED: navigating away from the page by typing another URL in the address bar, and then hitting back, corrects this.  The problem is also not present with &rc:Toolbar=false, but with the toolbar on, it's there.

Any ideas?

Thanks so much!

How Do I Give A User Access To SQL Server?

Sep 7, 2006

Hi all

I tried using my administrator account to add SQLServer as an ODBC Connection, but for some reason when it tries authenticating it fails and the reason is that the user is not trusted to use that connection. Yet on my account i've created on my domain works perfectly.

I've added a new user in SQL Enterprise manager, but i still get that error.

How do I set the user to be trusted to use the connection?

Any and as many assists on this would be great.

HAND SYMBOL ON DATABASE BARREL

Oct 27, 1999

We are running SQL Version 7.0.
I recently set up a simple snapshot replication. After restarting enterprise manager a hand symbol showed up under the database barrel as if a share symbol.
Am I correct in assuming the symbol means replication. Is there a source that explains what the various symbols mean?

I have SQL2005 on my local machine, but the report server is installed on a remote server. I launched SQL Business Intelligence Development Studio, which brings Visual studio, but i keep getting a prompt to enter a connection string. How do i get the connection string, or how do i set up my datasource?

SQL Server 2008 :: How To Give Name Instead Of IP Address To Web Portal

Aug 26, 2015

we have a server (Windows server 2008 R2 Standard) that runs a hyper V manager. The Hyper V manager runs 2 virtual servers.

One of the virtual servers uses the software XAMPP (it’s a web portal). The local IP for the virtual machine is 192.168.0.xxx

I have configured the XAMPP in a way so that any user in our domain can access the portal when the user writes the ip address in the web browser.Instead of the ip address, I want the user to be able to write a specific given name.

How can I create this?

SQL Server Equivalent

Jul 9, 2004

I have 2 SQL statements in Visual Basic(with sybase as backend)
1) "set option DBA.MAX_STATEMENT_COUNT = 1069999900"
2) "set option DBA.MAX_CURSOR_COUNT = 1069999900"

And when I migrated the DB from Sybase to SQL server and try to run the vb code it is giving me error in that SQL statement as MS SQL server might not be recognising the above two statements. Is there an equivalent of this in SQL server.
Thanks

Need A Quick Hand Using ORDER BY With Two Fields In The Same Table.

Aug 6, 2004

I have a problem with ordering and I am hoping that someone is able to help.

In my table I have two fields, "requestdate" and "sentdate", and when I display the records I would like to sort by BOTH fields. I want to do this so that the full query is in order by date.

I tried:

ORDER BY requestdate, sentdate DESC

But obviously all that does is order by requestdate (which is NULL or a date) and than it will order by sentdate.

Can somebody tell me how to order by both as if they were the same field?

Thanks!

What Does VIEW SERVER STATE Give To Non-admins Over 2000?

Oct 4, 2007

Hello, without going into the politics of why I'm asking, does anyone have a compiled list of functionality that only sysadmin's could do in 2000 that VIEW SERVER STATE permission opens up in 2005?

From the documentation, so far I've found fn_get_sql (and it's dm view) but I'd really like a complete list.

Autonumber Equivalent In SQL Server?

Jul 13, 2004

Hi

So far, I have only used Access which has an autonumber data type so that in some of my tables the id is automatically generated.
I guess this is a simple question but is there an equivalent data type in sql server?

Thanks in advance.
