The Sql Server database can only see the local drive.
I would like to set up a batch file that will copy a SQL Server
backup file from the local drive to the network drive. I would
like to append the file date to the end of the copied file. I
assume a batch file can accomplish this but I am new to batch
file writing. Does anyone have code that they already created
for this sort of task??

Our client has a requirement where whenever a user exports a report to pdf, the timestamp of when the data of the report was made should be appended in the filename. Is there a way to do this in Reporting Services ?
example : Report name : Testreport
Exported file should be : Testingreport-November-22-2007.pdf

I need to set up create a package so that I could check the date of the files posted in a folder, e.g. H:source. If there is no file created later than one day exists, then continue to check again one hour later. If files do exists, then copy then to c:dest and then upzip the files. Once this is done, sent an notification email to user@mydomain.com.

I am using the following batch file to execute a script that creates a db and all its objects in the local sql express:
sqlcmd -S (local)SQLExpress -i C:CreateDB.sql
This works fine, but I'm wondering if there's an easy way to put the script in the batch file, so users don't have to worry about putting the script in the C drive. I tried getting rid of the i parameter and pasting the script from the sql file into the batch file, but it didn't work.

We have a Job that calls a SSIS package 2005 that does some processing and execute a BAT file. This Job is being called by a web application.The BAT file creates a folder and named it based on the current date ( YYYY_MM) e.g 2015_07

It was working okay in the SQL Agent 2005 server until we moved to the new server SQL Agent 2012 using the same package SSIS package 2005. Now the issue is, instead of creating the folder based on YYYY_MM, it's now being created as YYYY_DD.I've checked the Regional settings of both server and they have the same "ENGLISH (United States) format. Historically I've always written a VB script to copy a file from a sharepoint library. I don't like this method because I have to input a username & password in the script and maintain a config file.
Yesterday I was playing around with using a file system task. The sharepoint file has a UNC path so why not? I created a simple test package with a single file system task that copies the sharepoint file (addressed via UNC) to another network location. Package runs fine locally.
I try running on our utility server but am getting a "The file name [SHAREPOINT UNC PATH] specified in the connection was not valid" error. Package is running with a proxy on the server and the proxy account has the same permissions to the sharepoint site (so far as I can tell) as me.

According to the help for SSIS, one method of deploying an SSIS package
to a SQL Server,

File...Save a Copy of <package file> as... menu option.
I don't have that menu option at all. And yes, the package is in
focus. My save menu options are simply; Save Selected, Save
<package file> As... and Save All.
I am using Version 9.00.1399.00 of the SSIS Designer.
At one time I did have the Management Studio's CTP installed.
However it was uninstalled before installing the tools from the
Standard Edition. (it would seem like not completely however)

p.s. Almost forgot to mention... I am already aware of using the
DTSInstall utility as a workaround. It should be noted, however,
that despite enabling the "CreateDeploymentUtility" property, the
DTSInstall.exe is not copied to the binDeployment directory.

I was wondering if there was a way for me to append data to a flat file. The reason why i ask this is because i need to create a header for the report that i am exporting.
The way i imagined this working would to be create a dts that would export the header information to a flat file and the create another dts to export the report data and appensd it to the same file that the header dts created. This might not be the correct approach so i was hoping i could get some guidance of how i can accomplish this.

I am running a SQL job that append the result set every 15 minutes on a same text file.
But it also brings lot of information on the text file like JOb lOg info and time stamps.
I only need to see the pure data i am querying how to fix it.
I run two different types of backups on the same database.
A monthly full and nightly diffs appending to the same full file - file 'A'
A weekly full with 10 min trans log backups appending to same file - file 'B'- during working hours.
2 strategies, 2 backup files.
These are new strats that have gone live this week - tuesday in fact. The monthly and weekly both ran fine on tuesday as did the nightly diff and all the TS backups througout the day. last night - Weds - the nightly diff failed with the following error:

Whilst the error is perfectly legible I dont understand what its implying - cant I add multiple Diff backups to the same full backup OR is my weekly / 10 mins on the same database (but to a diff backup file) ballsing things up for me somehow? If this is the case how come everything ran fine on tuesday night?

I have created a DTS package which transfers data from a SQL 2000server table to a text file. Each time the package is executed thedata in the text file is replace with the new data from the currentexecution of the package. I have a ssis package where I need to have excel destination. In the Excel file, I need to have few rows with some text and then populate data below the text. One the text is like this:
Data as of: 08/25/2015
if the report ran today, then Data as of will have Yesterday. So, if the user opens that excel file after a week, then user should see same Data as of: 08/25/2015. not today()-day(1).
I was planing to handle on excel side with today()-day(1). but it only works the day it was run. Then the excel file is open after few days later, then it might as Data as of: 08/30/2015 which is not true. It should still stay Data as of:
08/25/2015 on what ever date the excel file is open. The SSIS package runs only once.
How do I handle this so that whenever user open the file, they will see Data as of: 08/25/2015. This is not a column in excel. It is like a description of data in excel.

The trick is the header and footer row is required to have a length of 120 with 5 colunmns while the data included in the query has a length of 1125 and about 70 columns. I have a windows batch file that executes a SQL Server bcp command. Iwould like to obtain a return code if the bcp command fails. However,I cannot seem to find the return code (if any) for bcp. For example,if the bcp command is improperly formatted, or has a bad password, Iwant the batch file to return an error. here is my issue.
I created a ssis package which exports the data from oledb source to flat file (csv format). For this i have OLEDB source and Flat File as destination. I generate the file and filename dynamically with the column names in the first row. So if the dynamically generated file name already exists , then i want to append the data in the same existing file. But I dont want to append the column names again. I just want to append the rows to the existing rows.
so lets say first time i generate a file called File1_3132008.csv.
Col1, Col2
1,2
3,4
After some days if my ssis package generates the same file name i.e. File1_3132008.csv, this time i just want to append the rows to the existing file. So the file should look like this-
Col1, Col21,23,45,67,8
But instead my file looks like this if i set Overwrite propery to false
Col1,Col2
1,2
3,4
Col1,Col2
5,6
7,8
Can anyone help me to get the file as shown in the highlighed

I am executing a backup batch job scheduled daily. It runs
successfully but havent backed up any of the databases. The message
