I have new Hp Desktop computer with windows 10 home 64 bit. And have not notice this since last night. When shutting down my computer for the night. Computer monitor light stays on is this normal ?

I have an ASUS UX303ln with a clean install of Windows 10 in UEFI boot mode. It seems that: when I turn off the computer it turns off the screen and fans, but stays on, consuming an unusual amount of energy (in about 30% of the cases it actually turns off properly)When I hibernate the computer, same thing happensWhen I put it to sleep, in about 60-75% of the cases it won't wake up, instead it will just enter this high power mode with screen off, mentioned in the first bullet point.
These issues persist, even after turning off hybrid sleep, fast startup, hibernation, changing over to CSM boot, trying to downgrade/update drivers for Intel Bluetooth (which sometimes was stopped by windows due to not being Windows 10 compatible), the Management Interface, and Intel and Nvidia drivers.
I have a strange problem in my laptop. Yesterday I charged my laptop to 100% in the night and when I woke up in the morning the laptop was showing red light indicating the low battery. I wonder how the battery drained so quickly overnight while the laptop is shut down?! And this is not the first time its happening, I am facing this problem after I upgraded to Windows 10.

Tried restarting without closing it down properly because I can't. This usually puts it into repair mode after 2 times but of course it is not working. Just goes back to normal (blank screen). There is a security app that pops up. But only the top link appears then I get the black background with .
View 2 RepliesI recently installed windows 10 in my computer, but i got a problem : my computer does not fully shutdown when i click the shut down button in the start menu, it just closes apps, screen turns black, but the pc is still on and i can say this because keyboards lights are still on (power one, wifi one) and i am forced to press the power button for 5 seconds to force a shutdown and then turn it on again. I searched on internet some solutions and the most common problem seems related to the fast startup feature.

Overnight it remained same. Next morning, I had to shut down manually.
Didn't have this problem until upgrading from Windows 7 Pro. Not sure if it is related to the upgrade. I can shut down but sometimes will immediately restart and other times will restart after some time. I have used device manager to disable any hardware option to wake my computer. No yellow exclamation icons in device manager. Otherwise computer runs fine.I hate to have to unplug my computer everytime I shut down.
View 3 RepliesI have installed windows 10 a couple of days ago and since doing so I cannot shut down my computer. Every time I try to shut it down the screen goes black and it stays like that until the battery runs out. When the computer sleeps the same thing happens.

View 6 RepliesI have recently built my very first computer, and for a few months the computer worked fine and everything but one day my computer didin't power down and i had to force it and since then this happens i try to shut down the computer it starts to turn off and for a brief second the LED on my front fan turned off, then the computer rebooted. . I have been pushing the switch on my power supply to turn off my system,, it also happens that i some times lose time and date for some reason.
I had this problem with this build in windows 7 and then I changed it to windows 10 but it also happens in windows 10
My build is asus motherboard Z97-P i have a intel I5 4460 a XFX XTR full modular 550W or 650W not sure and a nvidia gtx 970 .. I tried to reset my BIOS settings and the problem stayed unsolved... This problem is really annoying and also prevents my computer from installing updates...
It turned on from a complete shut down.

Its a Lenovo pc recently upgraded to Windows 10 from 8.1 but it didn't occur directly after the upgrade.
Ever since I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10, I've noticed on many occasions that it takes very long to shut down. Just yesterday, I waited around 4 hours before finally deciding to shut it down by pressing and holding on to the power button. It was just showing the "Shutting Down..." with a blue background throughout the entire time I have waited.

This time I woke up and my computer was turned off, but I live alone, so nobody could have turned it off. I turned it on again to finish the download and went on doing something else. After that, my computer turned off again. I already went into the settings and sleep is not on, and the screen also doesn't turn off. I also went into advanced settings, and I still can't find anything to be causing it.
View 1 RepliesStarting today, every once in a while my computer will shut down and show the new blue screen of death, which shows the sad face and it says how it is collecting information. However the image is always at 100%, doesnt fill my entire screen, and is pixelated. Honestly it just looks like a picture ripped off google. Which makes me think it is a virus.
View 1 RepliesI'm having a myriad of issues after upgrading to Windows 10. I'll list them below along with what i've already done to resolve:
- Computer won't shut down.
Someone told me to disable something with the Gigabyte process on the Motherboard, didn't work. I click on shut down and the computer restarts instead.
- No sound except EXTREMELY low sound on headphones.
I've already tried installing the Windows 10 Realtek HD drivers but nothing seems to work. Eventually I somehow got the headphones to play sounds but is is incredibly low even fully maxed out. All devices show that they are "working" correctly. Also, when I test it, I can see the green bar moving as if sound is playing, but no sound in any speakers / headphones I hook to the computer comes out.
- Less important issue but the "search" bar in the bottom doesnt ever return any results, ever. It just sits there indefinitely.
My computer suddenly shut down, after restart the computer, Chorme can't open. The error is like the screenshot.
I google the result, someone said uninstall all current Microsoft Visual C++ installations, i have never install Microsoft Visual C++ installations.
I recently I was attempting to upgrade my OS to Windows 10. In the middle of the process my computer shut itself off. I was attempting a manual install of the OS, as described on [URL]... . I managed to completely finish the download before the computer shut off. Is there any way to continue from where I left off? Without restarting the download?
View 1 RepliesI set monitor to turn off after 15 minutes and computer to sleep after 3 hours, none of that works unless i disconnect game controller, than it works perfectly. is there any way to solve this or i just to wait for microsoft to release some kind of update?
View 1 RepliesDesktop Icons move back to the left (default) side of the screen after customizing. this happens when the the computer is put into sleep mode and is woken up or when the monitor is turned off and turned back on. I upgraded to windows 10 Pro 64bit from windows 7 ultimate 64bit. This problem never happened with windows 7.
-Automatic Sleep mode is turned off - when I manually put computer to sleep mode and wake it up the icons are rearranged
-Automatic turn off monitor has been deactivated - when shut off my monitor but keep my computer on and then turn back on the monitor the icons have rearranged
-I have small icons setting
-Auto align icons has been deactivated
-allow themes to change icons has also been deactivated

Freezing, black screen, no cursor, monitor goes to sleep, computer still running after upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 7. Must manually force computer shutdown. HP desktop.
View 1 RepliesThis has gone from bad to worse. It started with an error message when I went to close down, to the effect that the Start Button wasn't working and would reset on restart. I restarted; it didn't reset. I could use programs but the Start button still wouldn't work. I tried to restart in Safe Mode, but the computer wouldn't go into Safe Mode -- I got the screens that let me select reset but the final step that would select Safe Mode with Networking just got skipped. I'm a little sketchy on what I did next (I got kind of ticked and had to step away from the computer for about a week to cool off, and I'm afraid I didn't write out a history while it was still fresh in my mind) but I tried a variety of things to force it to start in Safe Mode and the result is that it doesn't start at all now: the power light comes on, but the screen stays blank and there's no action on the drives. Should I use my laptop to create a USB Recovery Drive to start the desktop computer on?
View 9 RepliesWhen I sign out of my user profile on my 2 Acer laptops and then click shut down, the computer goes black indicating that it is shutting down. However, the power light blinks until it shuts down completely. I don't know if it's a hardware issue or what but when hibernation is disabled, it tells you its shutting down and the power light doesn't blink (instead it shuts down normally). This is not a UEFI BIOS, it is a Legacy BIOS therefore it doesn't have the option to enable or to disable fast startup. This occurs on my Acer Aspire 5250 and Acer Aspire 5749 laptops. My Acer desktop doesn't do this, but it has a UEFI BIOS.

View 1 RepliesI've been running a multi-monitor setup for a while now, with an ASUS VG248QE 144Hz monitor as my main, and one or more spare monitors as secondary displays. I've set the ASUS monitor to 144Hz without issue in the past, while the other monitors stay at 60Hz.
The other night, Windows wanted to update. I figured it was the usual patch session, so I let it do its thing. However, after restarting my computer, I noticed that my ASUS monitor would only operate at 144Hz if it was the only monitor plugged into the system. When I try to set it higher in the Nvidia control panel, it just reverts back to 60Hz after applying changes. I updated my graphics drivers (though I was only one version behind) and even sought a special ASUS driver for the monitor to resolve the issue, but nothing has worked.
Did Windows recently add a forced refresh rate sync between all monitors recently? If so, that really sucks because I only own one 144Hz monitor.
I installed Windows 10 and found some apps did not fit the monitor screen (too big). I went in and changed the monitor resolution to a larger size (windows recommended 1920 x 1080) but I tried something larger, and now the monitor has a black screen with a little box moving around which says "input not supported". Not being able to use that monitor to go in and change it back, I hooked up a flat screen t.v. which worked but Windows only showed the current monitor size (which was smaller than the original monitor.
I tried the monitor on another computer I have also running Windows 10 and it worked fine. It shows the resolution as 1920 x 1080. When I plugged it back into the original computer I get the same plack screen with "input not supported" so I can't change it there. I suspect the issue is with the registry somewhere in Windows 10 on the first computer, but what the problem is. I've been working on this for a whole day now. You can probably tell I'm not well versed in computer technology. I just want my old monitor back (Acer K272HL) and I promise I won't mess around with it again.
