Having problem with a computer that will not shut down completely after Windows 10 update? I have one and discovered that if I turn off the fast start option it will shut down all the way.

Since I've upgraded from Win 8.1 to Win 10, I can't turn off my PC without getting an exception in .NET Framework, and then a message that it is preventing shutdown. Google shows that this problem isn't exactly new and already happened to some people with Win8, but for some reason I've not been able to find a working solution yet. Any way to fix this other than doing a clean reinstall (which I really don't want)?
I've already tried some ".NET repair tool" from Microsoft, downloaded various offline installers of .NET and tried forcing them to re-install via command line. No luck - they just keep telling me that .NET is already installed, already a part of the OS, or sometimes even "installed but not activated", which is just plain wrong according to the feature selection dialog...
Ever since I put the Windows 10 Preview on my PC, it wakes up by itself in the evening about once every other day. Seems most times there is an update to download, but not everytime. And the system is waking up from a full shutdown, not sleep mode. I have several PC's on my network and this one is the only one doing this.

1. The screen never appears past the post bios screen.
2.Wifi won't connect. I have to manually disable the wireless adapter and then enable it.
If the fast start up is disabled then this won't occur.
when fast start up is activated, I cannot enter the BIOS by tapping a designated key .
If windows can be loaded, I may disable the fast start up, or simple click the Restart, then tap the designated key during next start up.
How do I enter the BIOS, when Windows cannot be loaded?
I recently upgraded my SENS 900X Samsung laptop from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 10. I did the easy upgrade, not a clean install. I did reformat my computer while it was in Windows 7, updated it, then upgraded to Windows 10.
When I turn on or restart my computer, I get a message which says:
I found : Link: Fast Startup - Turn On or Off in Windows 10
However, after performing step 3, I get this message: "Your power plan information isn't available. Access is denied."
I note in the screenshots that there is an option in W10 marked 'Use full screen start when in the desktop'. This seems puzzling to me, as I will want to use the full screen start when on the start screen (of course) but obviously I won't want a full screen start when running the Desktop app. Is it possible to use the start menu when running the Desktop app and still have the full start screen presented when I close it/switch away from it? Much like Win8 (only with the new and improved start menu of course) where I right click on the Windows logo icon to get the start menu and left click it to return to the start screen?

View 1 RepliesI have inserted shortcut into startup listing but can't find the way to make it open full screen (app is XBMC/KODI). It opens after boot automatically but still has the task bar at the bottom and title bar at the top - not a good way to watch a movie.

View 4 RepliesMy computer has a mind of its own apparently. I can no longer view my regular desktop. All I get is the full start screen with all the stupid tiles on it. I have tried changing my settings, restarting, shutting down and rebooting, nothing is working. When I click the windows logo all I get is that same full start screen. Am I missing something? All I want is for it to show me my regular, normal desktop. Not these tiles!
View 3 RepliesI was trying to fix this problem on my grandparents computer. They have windows 10 and everything launched is fullscreen. The start bar is always fullscreen, microsoft edge, settings. I have to hover over the top right corner of the screen for the x to pop up. They both really want the start screen to not be fullscreen I've already turned it off in the settings yet it is still fullscreen and I tried restarting the computer after changing the setting and still fullscreen.

One thing I have noticed, that I can't seem to change... is how you set it so that icons in the start bar, go full sized once you open them? I liked that feature in Win7, as it was quicker to view what was open (without having to "read" the icons to work out what was what)

W7 used to be fairly slow to start, about 2 minutes, but it shut down pretty quickly. Since "upgrading " to W10 my PC takes about 3 minutes to boot and even longer to shut down. Unless I can leave it, I usually just switch it off after about 30 seconds.
In other forums I have heard reports of boot times ranging from super fast (15-30 seconds) to funereal (5 - 10 minutes and then some). How to speed this up?
I was thinking that a clean re-install would be the best solution, but since this was the free upgrade, I don't have a copy to re-install. Maybe do a clean re-install of W7 and let MS upgrade it again (maybe!)
Is there a way to customize folder color in full screen start menu? I don't wanna change all of them. I wanna color any folder too any color.

Is there any way by which I can add this website as an exception to SmartScreen filter so that it starts immediately bypassing the filter?
View 2 RepliesI broke the Acer R7 touch screen. The break in the top right corner causes the touch screen to randomly change the mouse focus even if I do not use the laptop. The crack in the screen takes focus away from the login prompt box as I type in my password.
It was using Windows 8.1 and with some difficulty was able to disable the Devices>Touchscreen Then it worked fine when touchscreen device driver was disabled.
I then upgraded to Windows 10 which re-enabled the touchscreen However the touchscreen mouse movements wont even let me login.
I would like to disable the Windows 10 Device>touchscreen driver as I did in Windows 8.1 But cannot even login.
I had an initial fault with Windows 10 where the start button disappeared so to switch it off I used Alt/F4. That brought up a small screen that allowed me to shut down . The next time I tried it I looked at a couple of options and chose sleep mode...Big mistake. I cannot wake up the screen at all, the computor itself will switch on and off mit the power switch but nothing appears on the screen, it is blank. I have tried hitting various buttons on the keyboard to no avail.

Is there any way to clear everything from Microsoft Edge without getting blocked by this webpage?

View 1 RepliesI have a new configuration (z170 chipset, i3-6320, fast SSD) for my desktop and it boots slower than my laptop (Acer V3-574G (i7-5500) with the same SSD as my desktop). I don't think the i3-6320 vs i7-5500 can explain such difference.First thing is that Hibernation and Fastboot are activated but not working on my dektop PC: command "Get-WinEvent -ProviderName Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-boot -MaxEvents 10 | Where-Object {$_.id -like 27}" gives me 0x0 (cold boot from full shutdown). Parameters ares ok in settings and in registry (hiberboot = 1).I tried using Fast boot and MSI fast boot in the bios: no effect. I tried to enable win10 whql in bios but it is disabled after rebooting, with a warning message saying that my graphic card does not have GOP.So, I'm not able to fast boot due to an "old" hd7750 graphic card ?
