Here is my scenario. I am on a single monitor. I have a hockey game on full screen. Can I work on a web page overlayed the full screen hockey game? or any program for that matter?
View 1 RepliesIn Windows 8.1, if I split my display in half - I could have multiple apps like Internet Explorer and Visual Basic open. Then if I was watching a video on YouTube in full screen mode, the video would still only be displayed in the half of the screen so I could still multitask and do something else in the other half. However if I try to do this in Windows 10, the YouTube video in full screen mode does actually put the video in full screen and takes up the whole display. Is it possible to just get it to display in half of the screen like in Windows 8.1 or is this not yet possible? Was a really handy feature!!

View 1 RepliesIn windows 10, you're given the ability to drag the start menu to a larger size and enable a third horizontal row of tiles. Im an insider, and using 10240 (rtm). Even in tablet or full screen mode, still only the two columns.
View 3 RepliesI just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and now my computer only detects one display rather than two. I have a Dell desktop computer and two Dell monitors. Using Windows 7 both monitors were being detected/used. How to correct. The second display shows a black screen with the message "Cannot Display This Video Mode".
View 6 RepliesAll of sudden Application and even print window is opening full Page thus I am not able to click even buttons like Accept, Next, Finish, Print etc which are overlapping the taskbar and even I am not able to reach below for cross arrows to pull the windows above. Though with Auto Hide taskbar, I am able to click these buttons but I am not liking this Auto Hide feature. Is there any other way out so that these windows could be permanently kept small size giving ample space both above and below these windows.
View 3 RepliesFirst thing I should mention is I haven't had a virus in at least ten years. Those of you that run Windows Defender know that it runs a daily quick scan so maybe no real need to run a full scan. That said, I set WD to run a full scan and went to bed last night. Woke up this morning and saw it had barely moved. First thing I thought of is the 'power options' settings. So I did the usual: Control Panel/power options – power saver – change power settings/put computer to sleep-never / change advanced power settings/change settings that are currently unavailable-Hard disk-Turn off hard disk after – Never – Apply – O.K.
Started another scan, within ten minutes I saw that the power button light is in 'sleep' mode. Let it run for two hours anyway. Scan basically did not run.
Windows 10, Dell computer, all updates. I have run full scans in the past, been several months, and it took a little less than two hours. Do I suspect I have a virus – no. Still that shouldn't prevent me from running a full scan. I have "no" other issues.
It works fine in diagnostic mode but full speed in regular windows
View 4 RepliesI just (Dec. 19, 2015) completed the latest update to Windows 10, had trouble with my volume icon, fixed it, then found my wifi icon is stuck in airplane mode despite the laptop having full wifi functionality. Tried turning system icons on and off through the "task bar and start menu properties" dialog box, tried various combinations of "on" and "off" while restarting the entire system, nothing works. I've connected and reconnected wirelessly by both using a physical button (shaped like an antenna emitting parentheses-shaped waves) and by using the icon that's now stuck in airplane mode. I can access the internet, but I can't see the status in the task bar as I used to. All I see is the icon shaped like an airplane, even while I'm clearly not in airplane mode and when I should therefore be seeing the wifi icon.

View 5 RepliesOkay so I updated from windows 7 to windows 10 i have these black bars around my screen instead of a full screen so I tried changing the resolution because it was set to 800x600 so I change it to 1920x1080.

So I tried the catalyst scaling option for my desktop and this seemed to fix the issue for mostly everything, desktop and most games, However, the problem still seems to arise with some games I try to play, such as Xcom Enemy Within or Dawn of War 2. Changing resolution in these games doesn't appear to have any effect, the image is still falling off the screen, I use my desktop on a 32 inch TV as opposed to a monitor via HDMI, and keep it set to 1600x900 as opposed to its native 1920x10180, but even leaving it at 1920 has the same effect.
I have my specs on a dxdiag file, dunno where to upload it here, but I'm using a AMD Radeon R9 200 Series on an Asus I built.
Have run into a wired issue, and I'm not quite sure why. After upgrading to Windows insider build 10565 I am not able to open bing.com as my homepage in either Edge or Internet explorer 11. I can open any other page without issue, but not Bing. If I set google as my home page... first time every time, no problem, set it back to Bing...Can not find requested page pops in after about 30 seconds of trying to connect. Have cleared cache, run DISM diagnostics, nothing reports as an issue. If I set Bing as a Favorite in the favorites bar, open to google as my home page then click the link, it opens without issue, but when set as the home page... How to correct it.
Now it won't open from the favorites link either, same message: This page can't be displayed
Make sure the web address Bing is correct.Look for the page with your search engine. Refresh the page in a few minutes.
Since upgrading to Windows 10, why is my computer so slow to open a file, internet page even after doing a reboot, it is so slow and sometimes doesn't even open.
View 1 RepliesI've notice that on windows 10 and 8.1, task manager would show the my max cpu core speed is 2.3-2.4 ghz. However, my Core 2 Quad q8400 is rated at 2.66 ghz. I tried changing the power settings in windows and try lowering my cpu temperature, but my speed would never reach 2.66 ghz.
View 7 RepliesFirefox 43.0.2 and Win 10 ... when use Cortana and speak 'Open Firefox', Firefox starts but does not open at the defined Home Page ... instead starts at a Google search with a search argument of "Open Firefox".
Firefox is defined to be the default browser and after FF starts the Home Page can be accessed by clicking the 'Home page icon'.
When FF is started without using Cortana, the Home page is displayed.
I wanted to run some games on 1024x768 but i had black bars i fixed that problem by selecting 1024x768 resolution and scaling to full screen. But i want to know if there is a way to change the resolution to 1024x768 when the game opens instead of doing it manually and when the game closes the resolution goes back to normal which is 1366x768.

View 4 RepliesI note in the screenshots that there is an option in W10 marked 'Use full screen start when in the desktop'. This seems puzzling to me, as I will want to use the full screen start when on the start screen (of course) but obviously I won't want a full screen start when running the Desktop app. Is it possible to use the start menu when running the Desktop app and still have the full start screen presented when I close it/switch away from it? Much like Win8 (only with the new and improved start menu of course) where I right click on the Windows logo icon to get the start menu and left click it to return to the start screen?
